Jingjing honestly didn't know anyone particularly tech-savvy, so she took his word for it. Actually, thinking on it, she preferred analog stuff just because of how annoying a lot of the more modern stuff was in little ways. So yeah, he was totally right about designers having lost their marbles!
His reaction to the 'server room' made Jingjing scrunch her shoulders up sheepishly, giving an embarrassed laugh as she glanced away from him at the wall. "Oh, that makes sense..." She actually hadn't known that, so she didn't even need to fake much of her reaction there. Standing up on her tip toes and peering over his shoulder, she added. "All this stuff was installed like this so I haven't touched it, but I take it they didn't do a very good job?" She wasn't technically lying, since she had gotten some help setting all of this up. Not professional help though, just a local that was lending her a hand. And maybe she had added one or two things here and there since then and made it even more of a complicated mess of cables on accident. And maybe-maybe now she was also afraid of unplugging any of them in case she forgot which one plugged in where.
Watching him work, Jingjing really had no idea what he was doing and eventually her attention drifted back to her phone. Jingjing,

Hopping to the side as a henchman tried to get her, then using her short height to her advantage to dive between the legs of another and scurry to her feet, Jingjing ran alongside Masao. Her horns were out, fluffy mane of sheep wool around her neck, and she couldn't remember how she got here! Obviously things went really bad really fast, but usually she didn't end up in these kinds of situations! When Masao stopped catch her breath Jingjing did the same, hands on her knees and huffing and puffing.
She wasn't really all that athletic, despite being a vigilante.
Glancing at Masao, then around the wharf and the approaching henchmen, she had no idea who they were talking to or what they were talking about. Maybe it had to do with that weird fire on part of her face? Or maybe it was a drawback of her own quirk? Either way, Masao had a point... If they both got affected by some kind of Quirk thing they'd be in pretty big trouble. "Okay but... You sure you're okay?" Jingjing wasn't sure how she could help with the face-on-fire thing, except maybe get some water? But the henchmen surrounding them was more immediately a problem, the totally-not-a-vigilante planting her feet firmly and tipping her head down just a bit. If she had to she'd start headbutting left and right, even if it cost her her civilian identity again! Better that than to get hurt, or let Masao get hurt, or who knows what else. Masao Ando,

"Eh?" Jingjing blinked at Masao, not realizing she hadn't untransformed. In all of the excitement earlier she probably wouldn't have been able to turn it off, but now... Taking a deep breath and funneling the disappointment in Masao not being allowed to show her a cool transformation of their own, Jingjing focused on calming herself down enough for her Quirk to turn off. Shrinking slowly, her horns and 'mane' of sheep fluff steadily got smaller and smaller. Then it was all gone and she was back to normal, bringing a hand up to brush a strand of hair back behind her ears and looking around with a curious expression.
There sure were a lot of people around here, and a lot of balloons too! It must be some kind of festival or something today. Maybe they would have some kind of show or games or something?
And then she blinked a few times, giving her head a little shake as the momentary fugue state wore off, before brightening up at Masao still being in front of her. Oh good, she hadn't wandered off or left the festival! Masao was still talking too, something about trusting your body to know what you needed and leaving it up to her? Well, that was fine by her! "In that case, how about some fried squid?" She gave a little nod to herself to confirm her choice, before remembering Masao had asked her about her Quirk and hastily patting herself on the head with a laugh. "And my Quirk is a transformation, yeah! Uhm, I don't have a license either but... I can't help it when I get excited or in a tense situation like that. But it doesn't hurt anybody or do anything, promise! It just makes my head really, really durable." And insanely strong when it came to headbutting, but that wasn't something Masao needed to know! "Please don't report me for Quirk use?"
She didn't think Masao would, but just in case she laid it on extra thick by poking her index fingers together timidly.

Maybe it was the music and vague sounds of people from the lower floors, maybe it was some coincidence of acoustic design, or maybe Jingjing was too busy squinting into the dark to pay attention. Either way the question startled the disguised vigilante, tossing her hands up with a "AI...iii...e..." that was loud for a split second before she forced herself to be quit by bringing her hands down to clamp over her masked mouth. Twisting around one foot accidentally caught the ankle of the other and down she went.
If Khepri happened to intervene she'd stay on her feet, but otherwise she'd land on her butt with a muffled 'oof'. Either way, the sudden shock of someone speaking from right behind her had her heart pounding in her chest and her hat promptly popped off her head as a pair of large ram horns suddenly sprouted - along with a white 'mane' of sheep fluff around her neck.
Staring wide eyed at the stranger in the dark, Jingjing's she was trying to think of some excuse for why she was in here. Got lost looking for the bathroom? Was invited up here to meet with the owner? Try to pretend to be a robber and make a break for it? But before she could settle on one her brain finally processed what had actually been said, head tilting to the side. "There was a bell ring? I didn't hear one..." She didn't recall Pavlov being among the names she had looked into either, but maybe it was one of the guards? Who had a dog? And the comment was a vague, ominous threat about security being on their way? For a long moment she was quiet as her imagination conjured up a confrontation with a big burly bald Russian man that barely fit through door with an absolutely jacked monster of a dog with sharp teeth drooling all over the place. A guy like that could just grab her with their stupid better reach when she charged in for a headbutt and then she'd be a helpless chew toy for the dog! Plus she didn't like fighting animals since it made her feel bad... usually they didn't know any better, even a scary monster dog that could rip her apart! But then those day-nightmares vanished as she remembered she'd just been very rudely snuck up on, letting out a huff and putting her hands on her hips and grumbled: "You scared me half to death, what's the big idea sneaking up on me like that?"
Honestly, even if you were confronting an intruder you should at least have the decency to not scare them like that!

A little flash of recognition crossed Jingjing's face. She'd lost track of time a little bit, and stuff like this was always a vague time range too. At least this time it wasn't an hour off from when it was scheduled like some services tried to get away with. Giving an enthusiastic nod, she started to make a little follow-me gesture with one hand before pausing mid-motion to tilt her head to one side and bringing a finger up to tap at her cheek in thought. "Oh, they have toasters with flash drives now? Do they toast it in neat patterns? Maybe we can offer randomized toast..." Maybe she should get one for the cafe? Well, at least if they weren't super expensive anyways. She'd have to look into it and ask the girls what they thought would be best to go with.
After the technicians response, or just after a brief pause, Jingjing would put those thoughts aside from now and get back on track. "Right, the systems." With a little nod to herself and lightly bopping her fist into her palm, she led the way to their 'server room'. Really it was just a small back room with some computer stuff in it. Jingjing actually didn't know the details, but as far as she was aware it was about on par with most systems used by small businesses. Mostly it was there to handle the security cameras, make it so they actually could accept credit cards, and kept track of work hours and pay and stuff. And made it hard to do anything in here that involved tidying, with all the cables and everything. Giving one of the things she had no idea what was a pat on the side of its casing, she declared: "Here we are! It's not much, but with all the data theft going around its important to make sure customers don't get their credit cards and memberships and stuff stolen, right?"
She was just making that up as an excuse when she said it, but now that she had... yeah, actually! It was such a pain having to get her cards changed out because some try-hard hackers had stolen a bunch of stuff from a random business. She didn't want their customers to have to go through that if she could help it.

Life at the cafe had settled into a pretty nice routine lately. They made enough money to get by, vigilante work was going well, the girls seemed to be happy and having fun too. That didn't mean Jingjing didn't have any concerns that popped up now and then, far from it. Late at night in one of her idle moments keeping herself busy on her phone it suddenly struck her that the cafe seemed awfully... vulnerable. She'd had to bail out of China because of her vigilantism getting outed, having to abandon that old alias entirely as part of her move to Japan to start over. She was sure she could bail out of Japan too if it came to it, but... She didn't want to! She liked it here, a lot. Dressing up in whatever costume she wanted, seeing what the others picked for their shift that day, interacting with customers, beating up bad guys, going on adventures, exploring all the new things there was to see here in Japan, and even making friends with a hero student and other vigilantes! Maybe Kokoro would, but would Tamaya come with her if Random Cafe got compromised and they all had to dodge the cops as their real identities? Would where she could set up next even be as nice as it was here, as successful and cozy? No way could she let that happen. So she did some searching around online before finding a service to get some extra good firewall stuff installed for the cafe, scheduling it for a day when the cafe usually wasn't too busy a bit before the lunch rush. Honestly, she didn't know anything about the stuff it was talking about. She was more an analog person than a digital one. But it sounded legitimate enough, reviews looked okay - admittedly she hadn't bothered to research too hard, but in her defense she was sleepy at the time - and it wasn't too horribly expensive. It was a little tight for the cafe's budget, but they could manage it! She'd just have to think up some ways to pull in a little extra money somehow. Besides, it was worth it to make sure the cafe was safe and secure! When the day and time rolled around that the firewall system was scheduled to be installed, it was just Jingjing there at the cafe. The morning had been slow, it was already pretty hot outside and the bright sunlight was reflecting off Edogawa river in a way that seemed to make the area glow, and she was keeping herself busy with minor tidying. On a whim she decided to go coffee-house-trendy instead of a more thematic costume, but as far as she was concerned it still counted as dressing up in a costume! A little bell at the door would let her know when someone came in, and when they did she'd perk up and give a cheerful "Good morning! Welcome to Random Cafe!" in greeting. wraith

Jingjing made a cheerful "Mhm!" sound to confirm that it was great working at the cafe. Largely because of her coworkers, and because while it was hard work she could get away with being pretty lazy compared to a lot of jobs. Sometimes all she had to do to count as working as chat with a customer at their table for a bit. It was way, way better than her old day job back home. But more importantly Masao was talking about the view and Jingjing craned her head back - horns still framing the sides of her head - to appreciate the sight of all those different balloons in the air. The taller UAU student was right, Jingjing had been so focused on looking at specific balloons she had forgotten to look at the whole big skyline with all of them in the air at once.
Tilting her head to the side as she turned her attention back to Masao, one horn brushing against her shoulder - excitable and scatterbrained as she was, she couldn't muster the focus to turn her transformation off at the moment. Hearing that the bladed balloon wasn't a prototype for combat was surprising, though. What else were blades good for? The explanation that followed made sense enough and Jingjing gave a little "ohh" sound before nodding. She liked to tackle things head on too, although probably much much more literally than Masao meant, and she started to reply with a thoughtlessly blurted out "Head on is how-" before the offer of a drink or a snack completely derailed her train of thought. "Really? That's really nice of you, I'd appreciate it a lot!"
She couldn't help but give a quiet giggle, a little sound that started with a drawn out 'mie' sound not unlike the sound sheep make trailing into sharp little 'xixi' snickers. Not for any devious reason, but because now she was imagining what she'd like to get. Most would probably make at least a modest pretense of 'oh-you-dont-have-to' or something, but not Jingjing! Masao had offered, so Jingjing wasn't going to refuse a free snack. Or free anything, for that matter! A little less selfishly somewhere in the back of her head, Jingjing also thought it'd be nice to continue to chat with Masao since she didn't have anyone else in particular to hang out with at the event. Friends was an important part of the three Fs, after all.
"What do you think, something savory, something sweet, or some kind of drink?" She was asking Masao as she scanned the different stalls dotting the festival. Even if she was all too happy to accept freebies, she wasn't picky or demanding. Masao Ando,

Cover intact! Jingjing privately congratulated herself. It was maybe the smallest of hurdles when it came to keeping a secret identity and she hadn't been in any real risk of exposing herself, but she had accidentally done just that back in China sooo...
More importantly Ando-or-was-it-Masao was curious about the Cafe, Jingjing's eyes lighting up as she brought her arms in front of her, elbows down with her hands up near her shoulders, and nodded enthusiastically. "That's right, the Cafe in Edogawa, by the river!" Jingjing confirmed, completely unaware of how little that actually narrowed it down. It was a big river and there were a lot of businesses near it, mainly because that entire part of Tokyo was centered around the river. But she had already handed out her fliers and stuff today so she wasn't going to try to hard to advertise the Cafe, letting the topic shift to balloons and the event they were both here for. Even if Jingjing was only here to watch. "That makes sense, and who says you can't have smaller balloons at a balloon festival anyways?" She chimed in before tipping her head to the side.
Did she like balloons? She didn't dislike them, that was for sure. But it was more about the fun of the event, something she didn't get to see that often, and all the fun merchandise and snacks and getting to meet people. And interesting encounters like nearly getting beheaded by a runaway blade-balloon!
"Balloons are pretty good, but its more about having fun." She paused, bringing up one hand to count off on her fingers. "Well, Fun, good Food, and new Friends! The three F's." Dropping her hand again and nodding to herself, even though she hadn't ever heard anyone else use that phrase she had just used, she continued. "What about you? Were you testing out some kind of blade-balloon drone weapon to sick on bad guys?" Masao Ando,

Jingjing scurried her way to the costume party, accompanied by the sound of bells as she went. She'd had a fun idea, since her vigilante name was Lion, why not dress up in a lion costume? And that had made her a bit nostalgic, so she decided to see if she could get ahold of a Lion Dance costume. Which hadn't been easy! Or cheap! She'd never worn one before either, so just getting ready had taken a bit longer than she expected. Keeping ahold of the mask while making sure she could see where she was going was even trickier! How did professionals do actual acrobatics and stuff with these things? It had to take a ton of training, and in her short trip to the party she found herself respecting them a whole lot more for being able to make it look effortless. When she arrived it was with the sound of bells, followed immediately by bonking against the side of the garage entrance and nearly falling over. But she didn't! Managing to get her feet under her, she tried not to pant too hard from jogging all the way here and glanced about at all the interesting people she could try to get to know and talk to - and a couple she recognized! She actually hadn't known the girls were planning to come to this party too, so that was a fun coincidence! Might as well start by greeting the two people she actually knew, so Jingjing scooted her way towards Tamaya first in her super cool Samurai costume. "Ooh great costume, hydra! Is it a specific samurai, or just samurai-in-general?" Jingjing didn't know much about samurai, tipping the giant lion mask to the side to emphasize her curiosity. "And is that Buzzard in the silly cat costume?" Yugure Saori, Kokoro, Shizukana Yoru, Kawahara Ruri, Nobu, ʚ Hymn ɞ, Shirayuki Tamaya,

Adjusting the dark blueish-purple face mask covering her nose and mouth, Jingjing mentally corrected herself that it was apparently a shade of purple called Martinique. Which seemed like a whole heck of a harder thing to say than dark blueish-purple, but she was under cover and needed to make sure she could fit the character if she needed to! What character was that? Well, thanks to borrowing some of the outfit pieces at Random Cafe, she had fashioned for herself this whole punky gothy aesthetic as her vigilante outfit for the day. Big hat with her hair tucked into it to help hide her identity just that little bit more, spiked black collar around her neck, baggy sleeve-y things she was having a hard time keeping from getting in the way of her hands, zipper on her sleeveless jacket all the way up and a black belt cinched over the top around her waist. The whole look was completed by a pair of jeans and some sneakers, and as far as she was concerned she looked every bit the part of a punky goth girl that would wander around late in the evening in suspicious places. The reason she was dressed like this is she was investigating some really shady trafficking business going on in Shibuya. She didn't have any evidence of anything, not yet, but as far as she could tell it had something to do with the clubs and in Jingjing's mind that meant dressing up like a club goer and mingling around until she could sneak into areas she wasn't supposed to be in. Which is how she found herself going up quite a few flights of stairs to get to the upper floors of a club called 200 Degrees, the sounds of the club goers faintly audible from the lower floors. She was actually kind of impressed with her lucky timing so far, slipping her way past different service doors and routes when nobody was looking and aside from having to hike up all these stairs she had made it to what was presumably the owners residence. That alone wasn't all that weird, a lot of shops in Japan doubled as the owners homes by just building it right on top of the shop. What was odd though was that anyone would want to do that with a club that was loud all night long, but Jingjing supposed she couldn't judge too harshly there. Either way she had managed to scurry her way into the owners private quarters, the lights off just as she expected - the owner was out, which was why she was picking now to do some investigating. Closing the service door lightly behind her and pocketing the key she had borrowed from a break room, Jingjing rolled up her sleeves to get to searching for anything incriminating that could connect the club or the owner to the serial disappearances... and maybe a loose yen or two, if the owner turned out to actually be a bad guy. But only if! Mafdet Khepri

Crouched down with her hands notably tucked down near her knees, leaving her head entirely exposed, probably would have seemed like a strange way to protect herself. But when the blades broke against her horns, rocking her back but not quite tipping her over as the balloon was forced to pass by, it likely made a lot more sense to any onlookers. At the sound of a voice asking if she was alright, Jingjing tipped her head up to see a hand being offered down to her and really long red hair. "Eh? I didn't die?" She mumbled mostly to herself in Chinese, glancing around in two quick little head turns before turning her attention back to the stranger as they apologized.
Accepting the helping hand, Jingjing popped up to her feet with an appropriately sheepish laugh as she gave herself a few pats on her chest to help emphasize that she was unharmed. "I'm alright! I'm really hard-headed." She gave them a thumbs up, completely unaware of how 'hard-headed' could sound like she was calling herself an idiot, before dropping her hands down to her sides and introducing herself in turn. "Jingjing Fan... or Fan Jingjing? I forget which way around they introduce themselves here in Japan..." She caught herself trailing off, giving a little sideways wave of her hand to dismiss the topic as she continued. "Uhm, I work at Random Cafe."
She wasn't sure if she should add more or not, since Masao - or was it better to call them Ando? - had mentioned being a UAU student and weapon maker. She couldn't exactly just say 'Oh I'm also a vigilante!', right? So she left it at that, turning to look at where the luftballoon had crashed and instead commenting: "It looked really cool before it went all haywire, so I think you're on the right track!"
Not that Jingjing knew anything about machinery to actually be any sort of judge. Masao Ando,

Festivals and Fiestas and other fun events that she couldn't think of another word starting with F for were one of Jingjing's favorite things. From the food market to the music performances to the fun events themselves, there was so much hustle and bustle around that it was easy to keep occupied and enjoy herself. Well, aside from being short making navigating a crowd a bit tricky. And technically she was supposed to be here advertising the Costume Cafe. Which was why she was currently in costume, and had been handing out fliers with little coupons on them.
Which she had! It didn't matter that she had just handed them off as quickly as she could to multiple people in the same group to get rid of them all faster, did it? As far as Jingjing was concerned, it was totally legitimate.
So now she was just meandering around, still in costume, happily munching on some kushikatsu - fried meats and vegetables on a stick - and watching with wide-eyed fascination as a red balloon lifted off with blades spinning around it like some kind of... some kind of whirligig! That was a word, right? More importantly, she was impressed with how nimble the balloon zipped and zagged around and the blades added a neat effect to it as it tore through the skies.
It wasn't until the balloon was careening right towards her that she realized it had been flailing out of control, not its owner making it do tricks, and she stumbled back a couple steps with a deer-in-the-headlights look on her face. Should she duck? Dive to the left, the right? Use her Quirk? But in public people tended to get weird if you used a Quirk without a license, and she didn't want to get hassled even if it was just self defense! All these jumbled thoughts kept her locked up for long enough that it seemed like she wasn't going to be able to get herself out of harms way, but if nobody else happened to intervene Jingjing would make a last-second attempt to scrunch down as small as she could while transforming in the hopes that the only thing that got hit was her ideally durable enough head...
If someone did intervene though, she was going to still be a bit stunned and just kind of blink for a few long moments. Masao Ando,

Jingjing glanced between Tamaya and Kokoro at the idea that this might be part of the kayfabe, giving a light shrug of her shoulders. It was possible, she guessed? She'd feel bad about flipping those guys off if that was the case though… So it was a good thing it wasn't! Probably.
She was glad Tamaya was on the same page as her when it came to not dying, but Kokoro’s question did prompt her to tilt her head in thought. A whole little fantasy played out in her mind while she was spacing out, a story of beating the odds of countless adventures and living to old age and retirement… and then her house suddenly exploding! Blinking and giving her head a little shake, Tamaya snatching the keys and taking out a guard startled her out of her daydreaming as she hopped to her feet.
“Very nice!” Jingjing agreed, a big beaming smile on her face as Kokoro took her cuffs off. Rubbing at her wrists she puffed out her cheeks and complained. “Ugh, this better not mess up my face.”
Even though she was seeming to object, and nonsensically since she wouldn't be using her face anyways, she was already taking a deep breath and focusing on her Quirk. Little horns poked out the sides of her head slowly, and then in one quick moment suddenly sprouted into a full set of ram like horns framing her head as a big mane of fluffy white wool poofed into existence around her neck.
“Make way, Lion coming through!” She called out, bending low before ramming into the bars head-first. With a awful wrenching sound the bars bent and buckled, the cell busting open right as the first of the approaching guards got close enough to get bowled over.

Jingjing straightened up with a start when Tamaya spoke up, glancing at her and shortly after at Kokoro in wide-eyed surprise that quickly turned into a sheepish scrunching of her shoulders as she slumped back down. So much for her surprise money making plan! Although, they were all in the same boat now so it wasn't like they had much grounds to tease her for being tricked, right? Perking up at that thought, Jingjing answered Tamaya with a quick "Money." at the same time as Kokoro and frowned at the mention of her swords being taken... but before she could offer any reassurances the idea of being skewed, shot or hanged put a grimace on her face followed by rapidly shaking her head. "Can I pick none of those?"
Tipping her head at Kokoro's gesture, Jingjing shrugged her shoulders. "Well, yeah..." She glanced at the bars of the cell. "If we don't have an easier way then I guess I could..." She looked over at Tamaya, hoping to save herself a headache. Or well, save herself the effort of trying to knock down the bars anyways. It wouldn't hurt at all with how hard her head was. Probably. "What about you? Can you do the swishy-swooshy thing?"
To define the "swishy-swooshy thing" she held her cuffed hands up and made big slashing motions, leaning to the sides for extra emphasis. Shirayuki Tamaya Kokoro
