Surely Khepri wasn't aware of this, but many practitioners of dornálaíocht used their palm heels for striking. The fact that they naturally fell into the habit, even if for protective adaptation, to avoid injuring their hands with their nails, was quite interesting to observe in real-time.
Farrin knocked the bulk of their blows away, allowed others to bypass his defense, and others were scored entirely on Khepri's merit. Inch by inch, second by second, he turned up the heat. He packed more power in his punches and threw more weight into it. The blows fell far short of his full strength, but measured against many of their classmates, he was hitting relatively hard. Take things too easy, and his "student" might learn and lean on bad habits that wouldn't work in a real fight. Go too hard, though, and he might break them, mentally if not physically. Discouragement was the enemy of progress.
So, eventually, Farrin would cap off the strength behind his blows, settling the spectrum's needle high enough to keep Khepri on their toes but low enough that they could drag the practice spar out for a time. "I think 'em palm strikes will work well fer' yuh," Farrin huffed a bit between dodging sways, then threw another jab in their direction. "Some Irish folk do that. If jabbin' isn't their strong suit, it's an easy way ta' assure some damage is done, n' in yer case, well, I think it leaves some other options open fer yuh."
There was little he could add that Khepri hadn't probably considered. Their focus was on not causing harm, though. Ideal for practice but a notion to be disregarded when fighting against a life-threatening foe. Another shot landed, and Khepri seemed to sway before recovering. It was quick, and they were diving back in. That's when Farrin chopped one shot, took one to the shoulder, then deflected a third. Then, he leaped back a few steps.
"No' bad. No' bad at all," he started. His arms dropped to his side, and his shoulders relaxed. "But maybe it's best we go grab somethin' ta eat? Dun' know 'bout you but I'm gettin' hungry n' yuv' picked up on some o' the basics pretty fast." The sands of the hourglass had hardly drained, and in truth, he could fight for quite a while longer, but a break would do everyone some good. Then they could tackle training together some more later.

Farrin swished, swayed, and then fired balled fists like cannons. Then there were the actual wrist cannons, too, which blew another construct apart. Farrin leaped over one blade, then brought the hammer of his right fist down on his closest pursuer. The shot thundered through the area forcefully enough that the knight's armor collapsed entirely. It rolled off in every direction, not out but down for the few moments it would take to reassemble. Another blade dropped only to become lodged in the ground; Farrin boomed across the arena, blasting into one knight, then another.
One knight leaped into a spin, then slashed downward. Farrin caught the blade by its faces. He brought his leg up, then launched his foot into the knight's core. Another piece temporarily removed from the board. "Not out yet!" He shouted in response to Kei's earlier concern. He couldn't speak much amid the melee, but things were far from over.
Kei's efforts were not without merit either. Just as one knight swung its mighty blade, Kei's twin geysers slammed into it and its closest ally. Both rocketed over the edge and collapsed into each of their components. Slowly, they reassembled themselves. It wasn't clear whether they were allowed to return, but that wouldn't matter for long.
Farrin dropped low, throwing his weight into his legs, then rocketed himself into the air. Five knights were in the middle of reassembly. The two Kei knocked over, and three Farrin had broken apart. He would deny them their complete forms. Farrin aimed, then fired a volley of adhesives. Suddenly, six knights were rendered useless: the three Farrin had broken apart in the melee, two Kei blasted over the edge, and the earlier knight he immobilized. So, that left only six more and their master.
"That's it. I've had enough!" Their opposition shouted.
Two of his remaining guards joined the others, still chasing Farrin, leaving only one at his side. His attention was locked on the Time-Turner, leaving Kei with an opening. The whole affair poked holes in the fabric of Farrin's training. Hours, days, weeks spent training, honing both his body, quirk included, and form, yet his commitment appeared to be his undoing. He only spent time with a small handful of his classmates, only on the rarest occasions, especially these days. Their singular battle at the end of the Beta simulation and a few other classes aside, Jack's tactics and abilities were lost on him. He knew the lad could hit hard, though, hard enough to keep up with SuperNova. That was something to work with.
"Gotta expect copycats in this line o' work," he replied, the slightest smirk crossing his visage. A little levity went a long way when facing the impossible. There was no time to answer Jack's next question as Farrin went to work with his prior strategy, blowing the scales out of the air and counterattacking with his incendiaries.
Time-dial eyes widened as Arc came into view, wormriding the fiery head of a draconic beast. Then came stillness. Absolute stillness. Unrelenting, unbending, immutable. An odd sensation, he felt the chaotic chain reaction below, but while locked in Stagnation's gaze, the cold flames of the void hadn't caused him any damage or redirected his fall. Neither could he turn to check on Jack. The creature was charging his way, and he couldn't feckin' move. What the hell was going on?
It clicked.
He was under the same effect as the pale dragon. The pale one forced his deceleration field into a superpowered accelerant earlier, and now the darker of the twin heads had him frozen like those blades of grass. The shimmering emerald and alabaster faded, and Farrin fell. One theory is confirmed. When the pale head locked its eyes on him earlier, it hadn't changed him—it changed his quirk. The way these beasts manipulated the world around them, different people included, varied.
Farrin landed a few meters ahead of where he stood a few moments prior. "How yuh' doin' over there?" He shouted back to Jack, eyes still locked onto the charging Nomu. "I've an idea, if yer good fer a big shot—like the one yuh' fired at SuperNova," he would continue IF Jack was still in fighting shape. "I'll try ta' slow it down if yer quirk is cooperatin', lob some o' those beams o' yers down that thing's throat!" Farrin hadn't witnessed the Nomu's effects on Jack's quirk, but their abilities became clearer.
"OI! GET OFF THAT THING!" Farrin shouted as loud as he could to Arc.
Then, Farrin charged. He popped the ammo feed around the wrist of his right gauntlet, pulled a handful of incendiaries from the device, and then shut it. With his free hand, he waved a temporal deceleration field into existence around the Nomu. If it worked as intended, the creature would glow with shimmering white and emerald and slow down. The field would only hold briefly, and the effect might remain for a second or so longer after it collapsed. In that time, Farrin lobbed the incendiaries into its open maw to add some extra kick to Jack's next shot. Arc would likely realize the opportune moment to attack after the field and its glow faded. Here's hoping the creature couldn't convert the field when it was summoned right on top of it. All he could do after that was get out of the way.
TLDR: Farrin responds to Jack. Is frozen in the air but feels the chain reaction / explosions below. He frees himself by shutting down his field and conveys his plan to slow the Nomu down to Jack. Farrin tries to shout / warn Arc off the Nomu, then tries to slow it down and chucks some incendiary rounds in its open maw, hoping to add some damage to any beam Jack fires. It was an evermore conflict between the need for stillness, comfort, and the safety of firm bedrock beneath one's feet and the pursuit of innovation, progress, and the exploration of the unknown. Two warring powers that seldom shared in peace. Yet, here and now, the two coexisted. They wove between one another in harmony—only in service to disorder. Farrin shared in measures of stasis and change, too. But that's where the similarities ended. Progress and Stagnation waged war with time. Now, it was time to fight.
A hundred blades blew in his direction. Razor-sharp scales with undulating distortions radiating around them. All too clear through a time-turned gaze. Farrin's right sleeve was worn, fibers broke, and his arm itched from the passing sphere earlier. It was just a heartbeat slower to rise and take aim, and that would cost him. He would repay the damage twofold.
The scale leading the charge in his direction after the explosive display slashed at his sleeve and cut into his arm, but Farrin kicked into the air. He would try to muster a temporal acceleration field of Jack, who seemed caught in the caustic serpent's gaze. If his temporal field won out, Jack might feel like an adrenaline shot before the world slowed around him. That was how Farrin's temporal accelerant was usually described. Then came the rain, the time-turner firing on as many scales as he could before pulling his aim upward toward the beasts.
"C'mon now, keep 'em eyes nice n' wide,!" Farrin murmured.
Blood trickled and seeped into the threads of Farrin's hero outfit, but his arm wasn't ruined yet. He lined up his shots, then fired. No holding back. He went with incendiary rounds, firing for each creature's face, hopefully hitting the eyes. The Pale one wasn't taking damage while under the caustic gaze—but that could be used against them. Either the green serpent had to continue protecting its ghostly brethren, exposing its eye, or it would pull back its impregnable barrier and leave its twin to take the heat. Hopefully, between this, and whatever Jack and the other fella mustered up, they could take the duo down a peg.
tldr: Farrin's right sleeve was eroded by the earlier sphere, then he took a hit from the flying scales along that arm. But, after jumping into the air, he tries to speed up Jack and starts firing on the launched scales, then switches to incendiary rounds and shoots at each Nomu's eyes.

The exchange was savage as it was swift. The Speed Demon laid into Farrin's shin and landed a few follow-ups against his chest and shoulders, but the Time-Turner returned fire, landing a cross jab right in her gut, then threw a head butt directly into her chin.
The Speed Demon stumbled, and there was his opening. Farrin pressed the attack. A flurry of left-handed jabs battered her defense and scored more meaningful damage. Her shoulders dropped, and her stance swayed. Farrin swept his leg for hers, ready to take her off her feet, but she recoiled. At that moment, he lunged ahead, latched onto her arm, then spun the Speed Demon about and launched her in Freja's direction.
Hit him? Nope. "Batter up!" He was lining up their opponents for Freja so she could strike them both out.
Terminus had tried to shift again, capitalizing on the previous hit. He wore a smile, all teeth. "Play your best game, Ms. Helt. I guarantee I'll still come out on top!" He shouted confidently in his charge.
But the cable Freja fired wrapped around his shoulders as he reverted to his sturdier form. As he was drawn in, he was met by Speed Demon, soaring through the air. The collision threw him off course, exposing the duo to Freja's bat barrage. They were hammered up and down. This time, there was no retaliation. One more heavy-handed strike threatened to knock both opponents out of the ring.

After he fell from the zen garden into the swirling black of the pit and the ensuing battle, the Time-Turner paved his way further into the facility. The path, however, grew entangled by wooden spires for trees framed in emerald. No longer. Instead, the labyrinth's winding, endless trail was broken by the scintillating lights that radiated from the creatures and opened into a rounded clearing.
The glade was bathed in the Nomu's ethereal presence and smelled of petrichor and cedar. Farrin's gaze never parted from the beasts floating above the expanse. Two others entered the field only moments after—one he recognized as Jack, his classmate. That brought some assurance, at least. Majestic though the creature or creatures were, in Takamagahara, they could only represent more obstacles placed in the heroes' path by the Elementalist.
"Alright yuh' wee beasties, let's dance," he murmured, watching their gazes still and kill the dale.
If Chronokinesis met their gaze, and these things truly possessed time quirks, they might have some temporal disjunction on their hands. Maybe. Time-related quirks were a rare thing. And maybe these creatures' quirks had nothing to do with time. Hopefully, that was the case.
When the three deathly spheres were spat in the trio's direction, Farrin waved his hand and mustered a massive wall of temporal deceleration ahead of them, which held for a moment, perhaps slowing the spheres. Then, the air cracked as Farrin kicked up his temporal acceleration and blasted to his side. The temporal deceleration field collapsed after a beat, and then Farrin fired. One shot after another, he fired rounds from his wrist cannons toward the pale serpent's eyes. Definitely time to dance.

Trembling arms resisted gravity's pull. Weakness might set in, exhaustion firmed its grip, but defeat wasn't an option. McMuscles pushed against the tiles of the arena and stood his ground. His eyes were aflame, locked into Farrin, who was only a few meters away.
Defiance in the face of the impossible. Farrin almost felt like the bad guy. Almost.
"I'm not through yet!" McMuscles shouted, then lunged ahead.
Maybe he was playing the villain this time because only a singular sentiment passed between Farrin's ears at that moment. It was time to snuff the big guy's fight out. Not kill him, of course. Farrin wasn't actually a villain. Guilt had weighed his conscience, knowing what he had to do.
Behind him, the other student wore success as his initial blow connected with Josie, only to find her counter robbed him of his small victory. The wad of mucus and hair enveloped his core and knocked him back into the mess still on the arena floor behind him.
"Dammit! Dammit, dammit, dammit!" He shouted repeatedly, struggling against Josie's quirk-made restraint.
Farrin dodged one shot from McMuscles, then another. Every second her burned away, his opponent grew weaker. And that wasn't all. One jump after another, the Jumper finally tore himself off the ground, still framed in Josie's hair. And that was all Farrin needed. A standing, sticky target.
McMuscles swung a hard right shot for Farrin, but the time-turner ducked the blow and sprung forward. He thrust his foot back, and with a crack, it smacked into McMuscles back, launching him into his ally. The two were stuck together, and the momentum of the blow launched them both off the side of the arena. They hit the ground, and the match ended—victory by ring out.
Farrin approached Josie with a smile and a thumbs up. "Held yer' own there, lass. Definitely improvin' wit' that quirk o' yours," he offered. They had won, though now she would have to admit he was the stronger combatant compared to McMuscles.

Was it a quirk that bequeathed their patience, and if so, who did Farrin need to talk to about that? Maybe it was the earlier injury. That made sense.
A second ticks away, then Farrin's moved to assist, but Ylva already took it upon herself to take Kikurage to the infirmary alongside the medical staff parked nearby after helping her initially. A professional detail seeing her away was enough, so Farrin would stick to the class and continue instructing those who remained. A few peeled off, but enough students were still gathered around, striving for improvement.
He gave Jun a nod and returned to the class, demonstrating again the basics of the Emerald Fist. "Very well, n' lookin' forward to it," he offered Enma those last few words before turning his attention again to the group. It was an odd class, to be certain, but as long most of the group walked away with a half-decent grasp of his methods, they would be armed with more tools than they entered with. The Emerald Fist wasn't a recognized fighting style, but it had done him right so far. Hopefully, it would see the others just as prepared for the world awaiting them beyond UA's walls.

Speed collided with strength, and together, they sang power. The two struggled, still pushing forward, tension building between locked fists. Grit teeth and brazen pride were on full display, neither ready to concede defeat.
"You won't win a prolonged struggle with me, and you know it," McMuscles grinned.
And maybe it was true. Farrin could build up enough force via speed, but locked in place, unable to add more speed to the equation, he might lose out over time. But this was a game of chess, not checkers. Their moves were multifaceted, with strategies painted in all shades of strength, speed, and planning. Farrin wasn't only applying speed to match strength. He was plotting out the fight entirely. He was five moves ahead.
"Wouldn't be so su—"
Farrin didn't finish. Instead, he feigned a kick for McMuscles' shin. McMucscles looked down to find Farrin drawing his foot back, then abandoned the locked fists, sidestepping McMuscles, who fell forward under the momentum of the force behind his jab. Farrin then looped an arm around his head and caught him in the headlock. Time for some dirty boxing.
Farrin threw a punch into the man's jaw. Once, twice. A third one, and he dropped to his knees. He had fallen for the time-turner's trap. Farrin spoke to grab his attention up above their locked fists, then feigned the kick to drag it down. A split second was more than enough time for Farrin to expose an opponent, and he had. Another shot and McMuscles dropped. If the big fella was done, Farrin could turn to backup Josie.
Speaking of which, Oreo-coat kicked forward, taking a swing at Josie only to come up short as he passed through the gooey layer she left behind. A coiled sneer betrayed his boiling anger. He kicked away from the goo with a grunt but couldn't break free. Then he kicked again and again. After a few tries, he freed himself. "Enough of this shit!" He shouted, launching himself forward only to meet Josie's kick, which lobbed him back into the goo.
"You've got to be kidding me," he growled, struggling to free himself again, his back now planted into the mess. He abandoned his jacket and picked himself up out of the gunk. "Just what the hell is that nasty quirk!" Again, he sprung forward, closing the distance swiftly, sweeping a foot forward to try to take Josie's feet out from under her.

The crowd shouted in awe as McMuscles stood at the edge of a small crater at the arena’s center. The guy packed a punch, no doubt about it.
But Farrin was far too fast. His hero outfit was cut up from shrapnel and debris, but otherwise, he was fine. He stood at the opposite end of the crater and stared Muscles down.
“Credit where it’s due. Yuh’ certainly packs more punch than me’ own regular blows.”
Chronokinesis was not a strength quirk, but superhuman training meant a superhuman physique. Farrin could work out three or four times as much as others in the same amount of time—probably more.
He would have to wrap this up soon. How long could Josie hold out with the Oreo chasing her down? Hopefully, a few more moments.
“Regular? Let’s see what else you got then,” McMuscles said with a smirk.
“You asked fer' it.”
Farrin leaped back, then immediately kicked off the ground. The air cracked as he sped to supersonic. McMuscles stood his ground, leaned into his footing, then threw a fist forward, met only by Farrin’s jab. The impact boomed like a thundercrack.
Meanwhile, Oreo inspected the gooey point of contact after landing a solid blow against Josie. “What the hell is this stuff?” He said, one hand stuck against the point.
