[attr="class","body"] In the concrete jungle that was Tokyo, there was a little architectural grove that was special to Nobu. A nest where he would go for safe haven in the event he couldn't go home immediately. During times where he was wounded or narrowly escaped the police, he waited there and watched the collage of lights and colors and life shift about. This is where he would take Kysaly, this special place that also acted as a place of thought. Now, it was a place of sweet memories shared with another. It would take some climbing and rooftop-trekking, but he'd carry them once it became more than just walking up some stairs or taking ladders. Once they were there, this concrete grove would give a bird's eye view of Tokyo. The reds and oranges of the festival seemed so vibrant while the people became so small. The dots of sharp headlights dotting the city streets would blind the view of any cars or pedestrians to an untrained eye. The dimly lit offices where people cheated, made deals, worked through the night; they were a portrait for the two to watch. "This is where I go to get my view of Tokyo. How I decide where to go, how I think through my deepest thoughts when I'm alone." Near the edge was a shelter that was well-built with a bed in it and small amenities such as a place to store things and a few feet of room around the bed. It wasn't particularly large, but the place was well hidden by this specific angle of buildings and how they coalesced. "I can't always waltz on home after a fight, so I would normally come here to cool off. Watch the lights, enjoy the high-rise breeze." His body overheated when his quirk was in heavy use, so it was ideal for when it meant letting the steam off in a literal sense. "Kys, I wouldn't have brought you here if I didn't think you were special." Approaching them and taking their waist into his hands, the romantic view hopefully set the mood for what came next. A deep kiss, one that celebrated life as the festival was for. This was how they'd put a stamp of finality on Culture Day. "You're mine, too."

[attr="class","body"] The cuisine of his homeland made Nobu happy. Flavors were in great variety, something about every restaurant kept it fresh and everything had endless variations. The simple stuff, like the takoyaki, was easy to enjoy as well with the high standards for food. The sweetest of all, however, was Kysaly being right beside him. As they walked through the festival, it seemed that he accomplished his wish of giving Kysaly a much better date with that second chance. First impressions were forever, but cracks could be repaired. The festival was filled with images and sounds of wonder. Hopes on the faces of innocents who had a day's reprieve from the evils that lurked in every corner. Thankfully, no Cambion in sight. Nobu couldn't hide that faint worry that he was able to push down for the most part, but he was at ease and happy. When it came time to thwart the efforts of a seductress, a quiet storm came along to save him. Huffing and walking away with plenty of attitude, the middle-aged cougar would throw a dismissive gesture their way. Nobu, impressed, squeezed the small of Kysaly's back. "That's absolutely right. Now, let's get out of here. I have a place to show you." With a smile, he hoped to show Kysaly his special spot in Tokyo that let him view the festival as a portrait. "I like the ownership, Kys." Giving them a forehead kiss, he'd lead the way.

[attr="class","body"] Raiden has been able to cling to the power of his quirk for some time to make up for his weaknesses, as the might of lightning is one not to be trifled with. However, if the person on the other side was the expert assailant that he's heard of, he wanted to avoid a conflict as much as he could. The gang members had scattered cars getting assailed by the concussive forces storming about, perfect for dancing around so that he could make himself scarce. With suppressive fire allowing him to exploit the Carrions' disrupted movements, he was able to thrust his hammer-like fists through the air and fill it with red-hot lightning that cleaved through their bodies. The spiny devils threatened him once more when Retsu has her space disrupted. As one stabbed forward, he caught the bone spear and jerked it upward. Gripping the Carrion's face and jumping up, he threw them at one of the Carrions approaching Retsu. Getting a good view, the masked Nobu would know that he needed to leave before the assault ended. As a courtesy, red lightning burst from his knuckles as it cleaved through both Carrions. Others approached Retsu, as others assaulted Nobu. Catching a fire escape, he whipped his arm and let out a curved blade of lightning to repel the two coming after him. Jumping from the fire escape and rolling towards the alleyway exit, he drew the Carrions towards him. "I have a feeling that our friendship will be short-lived, considering you look like a very familiar danger. Look, hnnf." Repelling a two-versus-one assault, his speech was broken up while he resorted to the low-recoil of red-electric fists to concussively knock them back. "I don't want to fucking do this today with you, the next time we meet...feel free to take aim."Backing up, his escape was not quite guaranteed. Two carrion remained for him, but now he was spaced far enough to where he couldn't quickly assist Retsu with her end of the ambush.

[attr="class","body"] The idolization of Nobu would have made him think it was misplaced. Beauty begets danger in the dark. Yet, when he stood around Kysaly, he didn't feel dangerous like he normally did. There were no blades of lightning roaring and ripping through the air, singing all around it and burning the beauty of the world. That was Raiden, an unclean alternate identity taken for what was typically his normal nighttime strolls. No, Kysaly washed away that filth when he was around them. In the panacea of their persona, he could feel the difference. That kept him humble. Even though he was beautiful, so were they and they did much more good. As their hands intertwined, there was an anxiety that hid itself well being cleansed from him along with the darkness. "Let this be the many of our firsts together." He winked at them, giving a gentle squeeze to their hand. As the two enjoyed takoyaki together, enjoying the simple things in life, Nobu felt grounded. "I imagine they use only the best for a festival meant to cement memories." Eating his own, there was joy on his face. The food was nice, but it was more so from seeing Kysaly happy. They waltzed through the festival, enjoying their time together. Eventually, there would be a moment of separation where Nobu would wait for Kysaly to come back to him. A person approached, emboldened by the eclectic nature of the festival. They tried getting close, flirting with Nobu who knew better than to play along. With his hands up in defense, he looked for Kysaly to come to his rescue. A voluptuous lady, one with a loose-fitting kimono and likely middle-aged, in need of a spry youth to cement some memories for this festival. If he didn't have someone special to him, he'd likely use it for the distraction and never see her again. Kysaly was special, so he resisted. The lady was persistent. "It doesn't matter what you say, I have someone special to me. Go prey on someone else." Swaying her hips, a bit intoxicated, she would poke Nobu's chest which would visibly frustrate him. "Listen, honey, I'm sure I can do SO much more than they can and I think you'll find yourself caught DEEP in my fly trap..." Nobu was disgusted, but he couldn't fry her. Oh, Kysaly. Where are you?

[attr="class","body"] Nobu looked good and he knew it. When validated, his ego produced pride. He wanted to dazzle Kysaly and he was successful. As he seduced the good doctor, he resisted every urge to let out a wanting curse. The kind that begged for gripped sheets. The kind that came from immaculate heat. The kind that came from bodies dancing like the harmony of transient waves. He needed to be the strong one, the cool one. The resilience was worth it for the kind of trembling that Kysaly seemed to do. When a person can't help but be honest to their feelings in a sudden burst, that is the best sign that a person is dressed for success on a date. "My ego is already tremendous, careful now." Winking before stealing a kiss from Kysaly, almost like he took over after thinking it was clearly signaled that's what he wanted. From there, he was going to make sure that he really captivated and made up for that smudge of a first date. It led to proper bonding time, sure, but the wow-factor didn't kick in because of Cambion. As they walked, he felt Kysaly's ask for permission go moot almost instantly. Without hesitation, he gripped their hand firmly as if he wanted it just the same. "Kys, of course you can take my hand. We have to protect each other from vultures."As they walked to the festival, full of night-time contrasts, dazzling displays and plentiful food, they would be able to take in the Culture Day. It was a stroll, a frolicking that normally he'd abhor. With Kysaly, however, he enjoyed watching the public and seeing the happiness resonate. "The festival is as lively as ever. Is this your first?" With takoyaki in hand that he purchased for the two, he'd let the walk be a good invite for conversation. Nobu wanted to give Kysaly any firsts he could.

[attr="class","body"] Nobu hasn't cared about culture day in over ten years. It was crucial to the image of a hero on the rise, but as a businessman in the dark? Vigilante in the night? It mattered not. Seeing the ignorant bliss that raised the morale of the people was sometimes painful for the cynical like him. This would be the first time he's cared about it in all those years because now he had someone to care about. Kysaly. Dressing up with stormy-themed yukata and happi, he would get into the festive mood with them as they would plan to enjoy the festival together. Since the festival was going to flood the streets, picking up Kysaly in a car was nigh-impossible. No, he was going to pick them up the old-fashioned way. Meeting at the entrance to Kyss Cafe, he would come dazzling in feminine notes but an overall masculine appearance. The yukata was a bit loose and the happi was a bit small, giving a modern fashion look to it. With a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, chocolate-lens glasses with golden frames and a rose on his ear, he would act nonchalant. Once Kysaly would acknowledge him, he'd take the rose and lean in, a hand on the small of their back while presenting the flower. "For you, Kys." After they would take it, he would put a finger on his lip, showing the black-painted fingernails dragging down the rosy-glossed lower lip. "And for me..."Letting the glasses slip a little to show those glimmering eyes of his, he would let his lower lip flick back up to his upper lip. With a soft, silent kiss to the air...it seemed obvious that he wanted to make Kysaly a frantic mess before the date even started. After, it would be time to walk to the festival.

[attr="class","body"] Teamwork. The last time Nobu had truly trusted his life in the hands of another, he ended up with a starburst on his back. Plasma was hot and even with intense UAU-funded conditioning, it made him unable to perform for a long time. The physical therapy alone could have potentially bankrupt a normal person for their whole life. That's why he took the career path he did before he was a vigilante. Now, he was standing inside an alchemist's sick whim. Admittedly, putting faith in others to take care of the majority while he focused on Green worked out. Nobody tried to kill him, not even Mummy. She thought it, even seemed to speak it. Still, her new 'bestie' seemed to find patronage which may be misplaced. "Heroes are finally going to have to prove themselves. We need anyone who will help, though I was shocked to see that psychopath that rode your back here. Don't trust her, but you did good Bat."Nodding back, the color in his armor would fade as he deactivated his quirk. His body needed to cool before he could continue, a function of his armor that he has yet to pay to have modified. Really, he should just do it himself. There was a lack of armor befitting a quirk like his and engineers that could even make it. As a gaze into the next stage of Takamagahara appeared, he sighed. "Fuck, my knees are going to yell at me."No cooling off, it seemed. "Name's Raiden. Let's go fry some nomu."

[attr="class","body"] What grew from their time together helped shift the initial hurt and frustration of that tumultuous night into something beautiful. Kysaly was struggling with letting Nobu go home, that was clear as day. He needed to decide if he'd break his normal rules about coddling or shoot straight as an arrow for them. Maybe not everyone needed the harsh hammer of lightning that was Nobu's judgment, especially considering the bond that bloomed between them. Who was he kidding? Kysaly didn't need him to set them straight with all of those emotions. In fact, Nobu was emotional himself. In his own way, as a singular tear would shed by the time things were said and done. A quirk wasn't needed to feel and understand and truly empathize with the fearsome nature of the rose of romance blooming in what seemed like a desolate foundation. The fears running through their souls made their relationship human. As Kysaly went to grab the final gift, that's when Nobu shed that tear. Wiping it away almost as quickly as it came, he didn't want them to catch it. Maybe it was insecurity or a need to be some infallible titan, but he wasn't ready to openly show those emotions in front of anyone. As they returned with a box, it piqued his interest. Presenting a scarf, it made Nobu give a warm smile that dulled as he noticed the trembling fingers. Taking the scarf and putting it on nonchalantly, he looked down at Kysaly like he was the happiest man in the world. Taking Kysaly's hips and leaning down, kissing them one last time for the night, he almost lost control. Forcing himself to have restraint once more, he took Kysaly's chin to raise their head. "Hey doctor, I think I'm going to need a prescription." Gesturing with his hand for a phone number. "It'll be for one cute barista and back-room doctor. Year-long supply, yeah?" Nobu was being cheesy and charming, as much as it pained him. He could be cute sometimes. "Seriously, I'm going to call you when I get home. Please, rest well, Kys." With that, he would leave and give a good-night call to Kysaly once he was settled in at home. It wasn't right away, there was some brooding to do about Cambion and physical therapy of his own. But he didn't look in that mirror. There was no verbal degrading of himself. All that was on his mind was Kysaly.

[attr="class","body"] Raiden wasn't a fool, he knew that this assailant was going to shoot him just as readily as she shot the others. With how the thug's head exploded, that was the most definitive proof of all. He didn't have time to fight anybody more dangerous than whomever collected here, this other factor being an unexpected outlier. Maybe they could clean up the alley together and move on with their day. He did need to meet Kysaly for dinner later, having promised not to get himself too injured. Still, the thrill was enticing more than anything. If they were a firearms expert, the intense light of his lightning was going to make it difficult for her to really aim at anything. Steadied aim made the best snipers, but they couldn't shoot what they couldn't see. The sound also drowned out any nuance that could be picked apart in the crowd. Within the walls of the alley, Raiden was lord. That was the only consideration he had if things kept going after whatever turf war was thwarted. "Listen, this was supposed to be a quick pit stop so let's not play games with each other." Before they could reach any compromise, things became messier. Scavengers of battlefields in the name of Carrion came, which summoned a groan. "I hate these cretins. Let's clean up and go our separate ways. Deal?" The messier and more complicated things got, the more he'd hear about it from Kys. That couldn't happen. As a spiny devil descended upon him, his fists would radiate red as small concussive bursts came in reaction to each punch he connected. The frustrating part was, the Carrion in front of him would match his tempo and they'd enter a flurry of dodging and weaving. One threatened to stab, one threatened to shatter. It was all about who connected that sweet, singular blow. As bone would meet Raiden's arm, a shallow filet would give him the opening he needed to cave the Carrion's chest in. Electricity seized their lungs, concussive recoil would shatter their bones. More of these opportunists would crawl from the nooks and crannies of the alley, a trio for each. "You'll hate this much as I do, but I'd heavily consider being fast friends. Fucker sliced my arm and I'm sure we look much tastier than the petty thugs we killed." They weren't back to back, with some distance and obstacles between. In the moment, however, it felt like they were as the quirkers crawled along the walls.

[attr="class","body"] One left in the chamber. Raiden was full of storms, but if he pushed himself too hard then he wouldn't be ready for what was to come. If others thought this was the end, they'd be sorely mistaken. With the depth of this castle buried in hell, there was going to be more challenges and more enemies to fry. After this battle, the lightning-thrower was going to need to switch back down to red lightning to avoid overheating. Like a car that's been racing the track all day, the engine needed a little cooling. Green, the nuisance nomu that was Green...Well, a surprise impalement of the biological nightmare that was Green had brought some joy to Raiden. As the color of his lightning shifted down a few rungs back to red, he would approach Rem and Monster Bat. After Green was pried off, it seemed to fidget and while disoriented, attempted to rise once more. As soon as the nomu's head came back up, Raiden shoved it down and stomped it with a thunderous crack of red lightning between his armored boot and Green's body. Dealing a definitive final blow seemingly and sliding the Nomu off the bridge into the acid, he dusted his gauntlets and closed in with the two. "Bat-Man, your puns are out of hand." Dead-pan, Raiden moved on with his one and only zinger as Mood Ring explained exactly the thought he was going to have next. "It isn't over, if you need to recover then do so. If this is the beginning, they won't be the worst of it." Looking over the battlefield and taking a breather himself, he anticipated the poetic and cosmic sign that the next step of the raid was available. Looking at Rem, Raiden gave a nod with his expressionless visor. "Good shot, I was beginning to exhaust tracking that abomination down."Turning to Monster Bat, he gave a thumbs up. "Thanks for the assist as well, we need to help each other as much as we can." In the end, Raiden wasn't so alone in his fight. If he would've missed the final blue lightning shot he had loaded up, that could've put him in danger. There was no guarantee of him succeeding until Rem and Monster Bat came into play. Now, they won the battle. Soon, came the war.

[attr="class","body"] The time spent was mere luck from having reasonably raised the ire of Kysaly. He suddenly left them when their date was going to take an intimate turn, going off to fight and nearly dying for it. They repaired it, reprimanded him for it, forgave him for it and now they were helping seal the memory. In the end, it became something that Nobu could cherish in the light or dark of his life. "How could I?" A simple confession with a happy smile. They could eat together in a moment of repair. For Nobu's body, Kysaly's heart and the potential that sparked between the two. Still, the warning came and rung true. "I'll make sure to be stronger so that you won't have to worry." He couldn't truly promise to not be reckless, but he could hold him to a growing standard. "It isn't for the sake of recklessness, I swear. I'm a smart man, though bull-headed. Making it home will be a law in my heart. The consequences are clear, Kysaly." Nodding, the serious proclamation was the best compromise he could go for. Enjoying the food, enjoying each other's space, he would feel the mural of his mind's palace intensify with sweet memories of Kysaly. They won't be the last, this being a humble beginning. "You are special, Kys." Winking, he would wonder how life would change now that someone important came into his life. Time was spent relying on them, which was usually very difficult for the stubborn man. Kysaly was easier to swallow than others when it came to listening and accepting that his word wasn't always the start and end of things. For a person like Nobu, the sign of a special person was the one who'd soften him up and smooth his edges. "I agree, but I'd like to spend more time with you under better circumstances. You deserve that, I do too. We've become lonely because the world has been bad to us." Touching Kysaly, letting them feel his romance through that contact, the moment felt imperative to seal with clarity. "Let's be good to each other."Before things became too emotional, Nobu wanted to be a bit light-hearted in a way that made Kysaly knew the restraint he begrudgingly had. "I want to tear you apart, I hope you feel that too. But...I also want to see what it's like to do it 'right'. Let's not rush it, you know...so I don't break you too soon." Sticking out his tongue, he would watch as Kysaly prepared a final gift for the night. Oh, even he was getting emotional.

[attr="class","body"] Who would've known that last night's events would lead in these two becoming closer than they maybe would have? Originally, Nobu wasn't going to bring the truths that he did to Kysaly. The longer a person takes to reveal something as crucial as vigilantism or any aspect of identity, the deeper the consequence. Even if it wasn't directly harmful, the visage sculpted into that person's mind is always shaken by missing such a huge chunk of the picture. The intimacy wasn't acted on just then, but Nobu could feel something else other than fun lust stirring between them. Kysaly was a hell of a person and has gone beyond just piquing his interest. Now the thing that drew him was tangible and visible. Before the wounded vigilante was a true hero. Not tainted by the dishonesty of society, Kysaly was a doctor that knew what they wanted and what they were willing to do. Yet, they still helped repair the broken bits in people. "I will. I promise." Promises were powerful, he better keep it. The care over the course of the next few weeks was wonderful. The first week was hard for Nobu, as he felt antsy to get back into the field and Kysaly had to calm him down more than once. There was a powerful sense of duty and Nobu wasn't fulfilling it like he thought he should. Rumblings of a dark event, a rite of passage for anyone who dared to care, that made him afraid of being frail. Still, he couldn't deny that Kysaly taking care of him and spending the time was heavenly. They did so much, made sure he ate well and went through great lengths and connections to make sure he recovered. After a while, he would accept that he could live in this bubble of bliss for as long as was allowed. Work was to be done once it was over and Cambion was still at large. His friend and her kids were in hiding, but Cambion had connections of his own. Before Nobu could take on that daunting hunt, he needed to do more than heal. He needed to be strong. What he didn't have strength for was to admit that he knew that his recovery hit a point where he could've left. With how special Kysaly made him feel, he wanted to soak in the quality time and services provided. There was a debt that was going to be paid, but in the meantime...Kysaly brought cake. They were going to enjoy one final dinner together before Nobu returned to his apartment. As the makeshift table was set, Nobu couldn't conceal his happiness. "Kys, you've done a lot to make sure I got better. I'm not going to recklessly fight him again, but it will eventually happen. I will be prepared and it won't be before you get a proper second, third, whatever amount of dates you'll have me for." The feeling of their time was almost like a true relationship, yet the foundation wasn't complete. Nobu was hoping to rectify this and as he ate with the good doctor, he reached out for their hands to embrace. "Thank-you. I cherished this time we had. I may return home tonight and take a few days to get some affairs in order that have been neglected." Nobu needed to contact people who might've noticed his disappearance, especially considering the illegality of his work. "Let me show you one of my favorite sight-seeing spots this weekend." Winking at Kysaly and eating his food, he pondered on the sudden nature of him wanting to share a safe place like his little nest in Tokyo he retreats to when he doesn't want to go home. It meant that he was having real, unprecedented feelings. Kysaly shared their home and went above and beyond when they didn't need to, so it was only fair to reciprocate. "You have a way of making a man feel special, let me return the favor." Curling his tongue around the food and sleekly swallowing it into a chewing smirk, his brow rose and fell as if to imply his... Oh, this food was delicious.

[attr="class","body"] Raiden was a star. He was Nessaku once more, the lightning-calling hero student that wasn't quite struck down in his glory. This was the elation he felt while hunting down Green. His body had not quite caught up to the potency of his lightning, but adrenaline didn't care. Green was going to be slain, as the others handled the remaining polar Nomu. That cutting flash was everything he needed as the needle met the thread. Some would see chaos, others would see calculations weaponizing said chaos. As the blue-lightning-imbued Raiden would dash with fragments of his suit raining from him, he would chase Green down bridge to bridge. There wasn't going to be anything stopping this malicious hunter from running laps just to do it. Maybe that's why Raiden was left to his devices. He was an old man, so adrenaline couldn't keep him pumping forever. While he thought he couldn't chase Green, its movements were getting sluggish when it wasn't teleporting. Everything had its limits, Nomu might've been pumped full of artificial stamina...but they could be incinerated all the same. It was good that others couldn't see Raiden's face underneath that visor, as a blood-thirsty monster cackled silently within it. When a light gleamed over his shoulder, it seemed that Green stopped thinking it could evade him. Pre-emptively, he pivoted and gripped Green by the face, shoving it into the ground repeatedly after having weakened it with a direct hit, he threw Green away so that he didn't fire his lightning point-blank. Shattering one of Hoshiguard's gloves, a blue flash once again lit up the sky and sliced through Green but it wouldn't fell it. Increasing the gap, Raiden needed one more good blow and with how little fuel he had...he couldn't keep doing it alone forever. "I got ONE left in me! Lead the bastard...I'll find my shot." Having gotten carried away, Raiden felt his overzealous actions had been costing him now. All it took was...one more bolt of blue. One more cobalt spear to reap the Nomu.

[attr="class","body"] "A beautiful quirk." Nodding, Nobu understood it was a power that Kysaly must possess. Something well-hidden, except by the reactions that they had to direct touch. Beautiful, safe, not so terrifying. Unlike the person formerly titled Nessaku, Kysaly was elegant in what they could do and who they were. No, he was a different story. Lightning that cut the sky and burnt the air. Thunder that deafened those well-within its booming drum. The power often hailed by gods in mythology, Raiden was the opposite of beautiful. Dancing with electricity between his fingers, the minor control he had over its might, he would look at Kysaly and feel...a lot of things renewed. If they could see it, feel it, know it...then it removed a huge barrier people often had with Nobu. They had their moment of being reminded that restraint was necessary when he was so heavily wounded. "It's going to be difficult, you know." A sly smirk, he would graciously take Kysaly's hand. Even if they couldn't do anything for now, at least they could cuddle and he could feel affection for the first time in ages. Affection that wasn't a courtesy as part of frivolous sex. He knew that while he turned down meaningless connections, that it came from his time spent being like Kysaly. There were moments of weakness after he decided to not be so reckless, but it made it all the better for meeting the angelic doctor. Nobu understood the need for connection. He'd done so much self-harm emotionally that now was an opportunity to heal through treating himself right. The first step was to cuddle and hope that his body's natural reactions wouldn't be...too distracting. "I promise I'll come back. When I go too far, I'm going to need an anchor. I'll anchor you too, Kys." Bringing a finger to their chin, he would gently caress it. "When I'm healed, I'll be a reminder of many things you won't have to do anymore." Mustering energy and strained flexibility, he would kiss them. Kysaly
