"Congrats, Rui-ster. Ya won." Retsu deadpanned before making her way up the final few steps, fairly confident now that no one's gonna open fire the moment she sticks her head out. Spotting a bleeding civilian running her way she raised the flashbang still in her right and and gestures for him to stop with her left. Was that shadow prick sending her a message by sending someone with the same injury he'd inflicted on her during their last meeting? Her eye twitched as she signaled for her squad to start grabbing stuff from the nearest stores. Ignoring the distressed noises the man's making she turned to face Rui. "Y'r prize is this relay horse. Got busted durin' delivery tho so y'r gonna 'ave to fix it."

Caring just as much about the grateful look on her guard's face as she did for the look on Rui's next victim she fixed the civilian with a glare.

"Look, dude. Ya either die right 'ere and now." Retsu explained while pointing at the armed men following her orders. "Or ya get fixed up and pay y'r medical bill by humoring the doc f'r a while. Choice is yours but 'tween you and me? Think fookin' fast."

That problem handled she turned towards the next one that insisted on rearing its -his- ugly head up. She promptly turned away again once he finished talking, content in the knowledge that Sho clearly meant Rui and her 'horse'. She'd let her fellow Director handle this one, delegation and all that. Or she would have if her subordinates didn't conspicuously avoid the store in question and decide to rob the neighboring ones instead. Which meant that she had to go into that one if she wanted to get her money's worth out of this raid. Not because Sho said to go there. Because she was here for the money and opportunities like this don't come often.

"Bakuretsu coming through! If anyone shoots, this place is gettin' blown the fook up." Retsu shouted into the store, sticking her hand holding the flashbang in first before stepping in a second later and zipping open her duffle bag. With some luck Rui would be tossing stuff into it as well. With even more luck some of the things she picked might actually have monetary value.

''There was never any doubt.'' She said smugly from atop her 'race horse'. ''And that's why I'm the most suitable candidate to be the next Prime Minister of Japan!! Rui is number one!'' She laughed, arms above her head. ''You love me too don't you? I'm totes that amazing!'' She rubbed the side of the goon's head before sliding back down on the ground. ''You want to die for me now. If you don't follow me my bro will kill you. If you survive I'll totes make you head of finances when I take over Japan.'' She gave the goon a thumbs up as if she was offering him a lucrative deal. ''Another bestie?'' She looked at Retsu before walking over to the wounded guy.

''Hi!'' She smiled. ''I'm also a fast thinker. Do you want to sing with me? If you're funny I'll heal you.'' She sat down next to him and began lightly clapping her hands, before frowning. ''Why aren't you smiling? You should be smiling when you're meeting me! I don't care that you're bleeding, walk it off!'' She quickly stood back up and walked away with her arms crossed. ''I don't like him! He didn't even laugh, zero out of ten, totes not bestie material!'' She only sulked for a moment however, as Sho was quick to share his terrifying revelation. ''What?! Who are they?!'' She looked to her old race horse and held out a hand. ''Gimme your gun! They're not allowed to ruin our fun!'' Stomping up alongside Retsu, Rui was holding the gun upside down, because she had seen that in an anime once and she thought it looked cool. ''And I'm Mummy, I shoot on sight!'' She chimed in, filling the duffel bag with absolutely anything and everything the store had regardless of actual value.

Were it not for the amalgamation of curiosity and a thirst for vengeance along with general spite and a hefty superiority complex that cobbled together what passed as a personality, Kioko could have obtained her freedom just beyond the emergency exit. That was what it was there for, after all. It just required a choice. The left was an escape from the turmoil. The right was back into the fray.

Kioko hesitated at the threshold of the decision before turning down the corridor and along the path that led back inside the heart of the building. Her compulsion was only due in part to the voice emanating from the earpiece. Duty fulfilled the rest; she still had to track down and interrogate the Umbra Syndicate sycophants that had integrated themselves among the proverbial cannon fodder participating in the haphazard heist. Though judging by the explosions heard earlier, perhaps it wasn’t so proverbial a title.

Her entrance received no grand welcome from either the mystery voice nor hostiles. Unbeknownst to Kioko, they were in the thick of a cat-and-mouse warfare of their own. “You weren’t at the exit,” she stated in her usual quiet monotone to the earpiece beckoned closer to her fanged mouth via the mercury casing around it. “Unlike you, I stick to my word and I have a job to do here.” Granted, the job was revenge and it was for herself, but it still counted in her mind.

Predatory steps stalked in the direction of the most noise. All the wit in the world, and yet Kioko was unwittingly putting herself directly into the epicenter of destruction caused by the criminal master mindless duo as she rounded the corner. Sho was the first thing she saw at the storefront. The customary scoff was given.

“You again.”

But he wasn’t the only figure in play. More than enough bodies, moving or otherwise, remained for Kioko’s guard to rise in the form of mercury from her mouth. The metal encircled her in undulating ribbons of silver to act as a defense against those that couldn’t just phase right through them. As far as she knew, that was everyone but Sho.

"Ready 'r naht 'ere I am." Retsu continued as she took a step deeper into the store, flashbang held above her head while she used her other hand to smash a display case and snag some of the expensive jewelry inside. No one had fired on her yet anyway, why would they start now? She might as well use her time productively instead of worrying about it. Even so she remained on the move so she didn't catch a bullet to the brain after all. Retsu doubted even Rui could fix that.

   Taking a look around she gave the people in her immediate vicinity a quick once-over and went for the exact same solution that had saved her so much hassle today. Delegating. Pointing at Sho over her shoulder with her thumb her eye flicked from one member of the white-haired duo to the other while she spoke.

"He ain't wi' me. Y'all 'ave fun, don' bother me 'less ya wanna get blown ta fook up."

Turning away and smashing another display with a level of confidence she didn't quite feel she proceeded to ignore the interlopers in favor of snagging just a few more goodies on her way to the emergency exit. She was almost clear now. Surely nothing else would get wrong at this stage. Her eye twitched. Just once she'd have liked that thought to not pop into her head before she was in the clear. Her subconsciousness's best attempts to jinx her escape went onto the giant pile of things she was gonna ignore for now as she continued her smash and grab.

"Ah'm out, cops 'n capes'll probably be 'ere in a few." She shouted back at Rui while pressing her last detonator to set off another cascade of explosions throughout the mall. It was as good of a signal that she was leaving as any. If any of her subordinates stuck around, well, at that point it was just Darwinism at work. "Moment ah close the car door it's leavin', come along or don't, up ta ya."

She shrugged. The chance that Rui got captured while Subaru was right next to her was very slim and if she had to be honest she didn't care all that much either way. As she opened the emergency exit door and made her way through the corridor to the employee elevator Retsu slipped the pin back into her flashbang, carelessly dropped it into her duffel bag and zipped the thing shut. Already her focus was on the next goal. Babel was only going to last twenty-four hours and Retsu was determined to make the most of it. She'd either get rich or die trying, there was no in-between.

Out of everyone in this store, there was only one person not under the threat of death by Gyrfalcon. Of course, she coincidentally would also be the most actual work to kill, even if she wasn't family. The unknown person was a variable that didn't seem worth the trouble which left either Retsu or Meliora as the prime target. Both had shown their hand to him at different times and he was 100% certain he could take either of them out whenever the time called for it. [break][break]

He gripped his blade as his eyes flicked between the two women, internally weighing pros and cons of each. Before he was able even to take a step forward, he would be greeted by an overly eagerness, perhaps radicalized by the chaos and mob mentality, grunt with a shotgun. "Gyrfalcon is mine!!" he'd shout, taking a shot into Sho's head. The attempt on his life was ultimately what would save Retsu or Kiokos as he would turn to face the man, who upon realizing that a shotgun blast to the head wouldn't kill him, fled further into the mall. "Consider your life saved today in exchange for his." he would go after the man leaving the four to their own devices and ultimately wouldn't be worried about the mall coming down on him either.[break][break]

''This sucks!!'' Rui exclaimed, trying and failing to kick over the nearest aisle of stuff. ''I didn't even get to fire off my gun!'' Maybe they could stay and fight the heroes and cops that would eventually descend on this mall. On one hand, that would be a great time and she would probably get to pew pew someone, on the other Sho had already saved her plenty of times this month and he wasn't going to be happy if she kept getting captured.

''Hey!'' She pointed at the shotgun guy as he tried to take Sho's life. Then he was off before she could take aim at him. Dang, so that one was Sho's kill. ''Kill him dead!'' She shouted after Sho, giving him a thumbs up he probably didn't see. She looked around hastily before calling back to Retsu. ''One moment!'' She walked up to the nearest remaining henchman.

''Hi.''

''Hey..''

She pointed the gun at his leg and fired twice, much to his dismay and her joy. Erupting with laughter she tossed the gun like a neglected toy and ran after Retsu. ''Wait for me, bestie!'' As explosions went off all around them she made a new proposal, only she wasn't sure if her Bomb Bestie heard a single word of what she was saying.
