Success! [break][break] This time, the drills didn't backfire on her, and she could keep them under control. The combined efforts of her javelin and the drill managed to save Momo who was subsequently launched from the robot. If Emi hadn't been mid-jump, she would have tried to save her, but she just had to have faith that she could save herself. Perhaps she had a secret hamburger-themed parachute she could use? [break][break] Well, maybe it would be Emi who needed this parachute instead. With the angle of the falling spider, but still kicking around, it managed to send Emi flying away from the group in an arc. She was virtually unharmed thanks to her natural toughness, even if it was brought down by the quirk nullifying field, but this would end up being bad for Momo. She was falling right towards Momo and her oversized jacket without any way to alter her trajectory. [break][break] All 770 pounds of her [break][break]

Among the items she got to use today, the claptraps proved to be the most reliable oddly enough despite her first usage not getting the best results. Her luck with this particular item would continue as she successfully trapped the villain once more. Unfortunately, Noa trapped one of her teammates with him. She was trying her best not to rely on anyone but it seems like she was getting in their way instead. No, they were getting in her way. She was definitely not in the wrong here. While the villain and the other girl were beating each other up inside the barrier, Noa turned her attention on the robot that was heading their way after losing some of its other legs.

She considered her options. The stealth suit wasn't any help at all here. The barriers don't look like they were strong enough to stop the machine either. It was time to try the bubble gum again. It was a bit dangerous but Noa would get close to the robot while blowing several bubbles. Her plan was to get the bubble stuck on the joints of the robot and hopefully stop it from moving. If the bubbles 'fail' and pop early, it was even better since it would be more sticky.

TLDR: Noa tries to blow bubbles to stick to the robot's joints and try to stop it from moving.

Epilogue.

Freja took on the villain's fist like a champ, dishing out her own in return. It was an isolated fight she had to take on alone, as everyone else had to stick their landing or deal with the robot still cracking the shield. Eventually though, the villain was downed, no longer moving thanks to her skill.

Meanwhile, Momo inflated herself into a marshmallow - not on purpose funny enough - to soften the blow that could've come from her fall. Unfortunately, Emi was not far behind, and with part of her quirk still active, so too were its cons. The crash wasn't going to be pretty.

As for the robot? It stopped its assault on the shield. Onlookers would see large pieces of gum stuck to its joints, and as a result it twitched in place, its leg on the verge of causing further damage but not doing so.

With the villain subdued as that was the original goal, the students' surroundings would fade and they'd once more be in the white room they started in, all gear used deactivating themselves. The civilians and even Brainrock himself disappeared, revealed to have been mere holograms added to the challenge. The only thing that was real other than the hero hopefuls was... the spider robot? Instead of disintegrating it simply powered down, its lights fading to black.

A microphone whined in speakers above them as medical personnel rushed in to tend to the injuries the students endured. It eventually calmed into the soft voice they would've heard at the beginning of the challenge. "Congratulations on completing your test. You've adapted to your surroundings quite well, and were able to ensure each others' safety as well as the safety of the concert goers." He paused. "Well... until the end, I suppose. But it shows you adapted to the hiccups too. Well done. Have a good rest everyone, for tomorrow will be another day."

A smile could be heard in his voice. "And don't worry about Disco Spider. It'll return to working order soon enough."

THE RED GIRL

It turned out that Momo didn’t need to worry about rolling into the robot. Even if it hadn’t been rendered inert by the combined(?) efforts of the less-than-cohesive unit, she had the luxury of an excellent human shield between herself and the pseudo-bad guys. There was just one problem. That human shield had entered such a status by landing on Momo’s already broken arm.

The cast shattered beneath the seven-hundred-plus pound landing. So did the arm within it. Shock, literally and figuratively took hold of Momo. She was shocked that Emila was suddenly there. Her body was shocked that parts of it were nothing more than shards now, some of which were jutting out of the flesh and even through the remains of the quickly reddening cast. The latter shock prevented her from feeling the pain initially, but only long enough for Momo to say, “Hi! Thanks for coming to sa–”

And then she screamed before blacking out.

Emi was in freefall, feeling helpless but yet unconcerned. Ever since she was a kid way before she even dreamed of becoming a Pro Hero she never got hurt when she fell. Hell, most of the time when she did fall it was something else that got hurt or in some cases destroyed. Since the event was over, she was relieved she didn't cause any more damage, but since the field that stopped her quirk from working was still active, she was truly at the mercy of gravity. It was boring. Of course this was just from her perspective and in reality the speed of her fall was MUCH faster. [break][break] However, instead of an expected crunching sound of hitting the ground as hard as she normally did, there was a...cracking? "Wait wha-" she rolled over only to be horrified at the sight of a person who broke her fall. A full on panic as realized she popped the vest and managed to land on her arm which did. not. look. right. [break][break] "I'm so sorry here let me help yo-" she barely got to finish the sentence, bending down to try and help Momo up before Momo screamed. Emi immediately put her hands over her ears, knocking her off balance and right onto the bat. As well-designed as it might have been, 700 pounds suddenly falling on it would be enough to activate the sensor. Like a rocket Emi would shoot back up and begin to dance uncontrollably riiiiiiiiiight as the drawback for the bat would kick in that was attached to Momo's shattered arm. Oops. [break][break]
