[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]It was supposed to be a nice quiet day for Zen and Farrin, the two of them had planned to get some food and go to the Zoo in Tokyo for some quality bonding experiences. It was supposed to be a relaxing afternoon full of Baboons and bromance, of Hippopotami and Hamburgers. After the impromptu pot luck with Farrin and the rest of their new gang Zen had decided to get to know each of them individually and today was the day he and Farrin would become buds.

That all changed when the fire monkey attacked.

The Zoo didn't know it, the keepers didn't know it, hell even the poor monkey didn't know that he had a quirk but the minute the little capuchin discovered he could shout magma out of his butt things went south REAL fast. Shortly before the two students showed up the monkey had broken out of his cell by literally melting the lock before running around the entire Zoo doing the same for his animal brethren.

Zen probably should have realized there was a problem at the Zoo when a Zebra came running down the street past the two of them as they approached the entrance but he was too busy enjoying a slice of "NY pizza" and complaining to his fellow New Yorker about how it was definitely not NY pizza. It was only when they got to the ticket booth did he realize that something was wrong when there were no ticket takers and everyone inside the zoo was screaming their heads off.

"So..." Zen sighed as he wolfed down the rest of the pizza. "I think the Zoo's closed" The titan grumbled as he turn around, seeing the streets filled with all sorts of different animals roaming about "we should probably do something about that before anyone gets hurt" Honestly, Zen would have rather watched someone else corral the animals but he had always wanted to ride an Elephant and this was probably the only time he'd be able to do it.

his was no Farrin's idea of time well spent, but when pizza, or at least an attempt NY style pizza, the only real pizza, was made the itinerary, his inner New Yorker heeded the call. Sada was pushing for him to be a bit more social, and Barty had hammered it into his head that he would one day need allies, so all the boxes were checked. It wasn't all that bad. How often would he meet fellow New Yorkers? Besides, despite the vast canals that separated the two's personalities, Farrin was slowly taking a liking to the comical giant. Was that due to the equal but opposite demeanor Zenkai possessed, or might it stem from Farrin's sifting dreams? He hadn't the answers. 

He took another chomp out of the sliced wonder (that still paled in comparison to home) when trotting hooves stole his attention away from the extra cheesy delight in his hands. When he looked up, past the ticket booth, there were two more zebras vacating the zoo. Behind them, a tiger. 

"Ah shite," he cursed, mourning the lunch he would have to dispose of. With a sigh, he set his food on the ticket booth counter, in hopes it might remain intact, and added, "Yeah, I suppose yer right, big guy." 

White wisps of temporal flame flew from his form, joined a moment later by the emerald crackles of visible time power. His eyes warmed to a golden hue, then took the shape of cock dials. With a wave of the hand, a lightly touched field of green blocked the big kitty off from the zebra. The moment the tiger touched the field, it slowed to a crawl. 

"I can slow most o' 'em down, but yer gonna need ta' wrangle the bigger beasties!"

Heading the animals off was no problem, not at time-turned speeds, but Zenkai's impressive size and stature was not unlike a gorilla's. The larger animals would pay him heed to his presence without him having to potentially hurt them. Farrin would have to smack some of them around to establish dominance, and somehow he didn't feel animal abuse made for memorable and great heroes.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Man that Irish accent took some getting used to but luckily they both spoke English so Zen's ears didn't need to be assaulted for the disaster that Farrin called Japanese. It was a simple plan but an effective one, Farrin Was good at slowing them down obviously, he didn't realize what Farrin's quirk was up until this point. He hadn't made any real attempt to figure it out but after witnessing it it was pretty clear why the time turner was in the University. Being able to slow shit down was ridiculously useful for a ton of situations, if Zen had a quirk like that, he doubt he would actually be where he was today.

"Yup, first up, the fucking Zebras" There was no time to dwell on the past when the animals needed their help. The only reason they were running rampant Was because of all of the chaos, all they needed to do was calm down and they'd be fine. Unfortunately, even in calm situations, Zebra's were fucking assholes.

The sapphire eyed titan approached the pair of Zebras, holding his hands out "Alright guys, just calm down and we'll get out of this just fine" The Zebra's for their part were frightened out of their mind and honestly, Zen couldn't blame them, there was a tiger that had been chasing them and they were fucking prey animals. He did their best to relax them but one of the Zebra's reached out and bit him on the arm. In Response to the bite Zen did the only thing he thought to do at the time and bite the Zebra right back causing it to Whinny in pain

"Now, We can be civil or we can keep biting each other" The golden boi said as calmly as someone who had gotten bit by a Zebra could. Luckily two of the Zoo Keepers popped up from behind the Zebra's and were able to Wrangle leashes around their necks before leading them off. With the Zebra's down Zenkai calmly walked over to the Tiger, wrapping his arms around the beasts neck before Suplexing it into unconsciousness. He couldn't have Farrin using his quirk on the beast all day, he needed the time turner for the rest of the animals that were roaming throughout the city.

"Alrighty Time Lord, Lets get this bread"

ad it not been a tiger, Farrin might have called Zenkai's stunt excessive. Maybe he should have been the one to put its lights out. The oversized cat's pride would never recover. Too bad. 

Farrin immediately kicked up the speed himself. Normally, he moved at slow-mo Joe speeds. It was a side effect of Chronokinesis. It was draining his time outside Temporal State as opposed to the boost it could give him while in it. When he fired up the temporal powers, though, well, he wasn't the fastest alive, but he sure was up there. 

A blur blew into the front of the zoo. One emerald field burned into being after the next, each ensnaring the larger, more dangerous, or outright faster animals. Anything that might pose an immediate threat to the people or prove too problematic to catch later. The zookeepers were mobilizing, with tranquilizers too, but now there were fires spreading courtesy of our capuchin's magmatic fecal matter. More temporal fields were Farrin's initial response, but slowing so many targets all at once would soon tax his mental faculties. 

"Stampede!" Someone shouted.
 
Gorillas sprinted alongside lemurs. Low-laying pandas rubbed shoulders with gibbons. Why'd he hear the word gibbon whispered in his ear? A whole *** hippo was marching behind the mixed herd. Okay, this was getting out of hand. How had things collapsed so horribly in such a short amount of time? Ridiculous. 

"Uh, that's no' good," was all he got out before the parade arrived

One moment there was Farrin and a slew of slowed animals, then there was only the stampede that blew right over him. The time-turner was lost among the animal kingdom.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Zenkai could only stand there in sheer amazement as his brother-in-arms got lion kinged by the whole ass animal kingdom. The time turner formerly known as Mufasa had been doing the heavy lifting for the most part. Using his Quirk to slow or stop whatever he could while trying to maintain some semblance of Order. Zenkai, for his part mainly just stood in front of the bigger animals and grappled them until the Zoo keepers could put them to sleep with tranquilizer darts. Even if he wanted to use his quirk it would essentially be useless in this situation, he couldn't very well blow up the animals after all, Beary-chan and most of Tokyo would probably never forgive him.

The stampede certainly didn't make anything better, Farrin got Mufasa'd and even with his titanic physique he couldn't stop all the animals barreling towards him. He couldn't fight all those animals, especially the murder hippo, no way he was going to take on something like that by himself. He'd need help to be able to corral all of the animals, something bigger, better and stronger. Then like a chonky angel savior, his dream manifested out of the corner of his eye. A gigantic African Elephant, charging along on the outside of the herd.

The enlightened one wasted absolutely no time charging over to the Elephant before leaping onto it's back. "It's you and me bud. We've got a stampede to stop" Zenkai rubbed the neck of the Elephant in an attempt to calm the behemoth down. The beast for it's part continued to rampage for a couple more minutes until Zen was finally able to get it to calm down with paps and shooshes. With a pat on it's head, Zenkai pointed to the front of the stampede urging the to cut it off so they could try and direct the frightened animals somewhere where they could easily be corralled "FARRIN IF YOU AIN'T DEAD STOP THE HIPPO AND TAKE CARE OF THE BACK, I'LL DEAL WITH THE FRONT"

h Farrin was far from dead. Before the dust settled, he had vacated the area. Zen's plan was sound. They needed the assistance of the bigger beasties to get the rest in order, to herd them into one location where the zookeepers could put them to sleep - temporarily, of course. Rather than summon a multitude of fields, he'd erect one field to entrap them all. To do that, he needed better vantage point. And so, at the tail end of the stampede, the time turner could be found hanging, one-armed, from the side of giraffe's neck. 



It wasn't the largest animal by mass, but the tall boy offered the time-turner all he needed. With a wave of his free hand a massive ring encircled the bulk of the parade. Opposite of him was Zenkai atop the mighty elephant, the two of them discouraging the front of the herd while Farrin's giraffe circled around the back, alongside the interior of the ring. Of course, he had no control of the thing. Chalk it up to lucky Irish nonsense. Outside the ring, the zookeepers took position with their tranquilizers. The darts would pass through the field quite slowly, but the animals had little room to maneuver. 

This round went to the two UAU students. The problem: fire capuchin was still on the loose and causing problems deeper in the zoo. They could spend all day horsing around with the escapees, but until they got the keys back, or in this case put an end to the magma poop, things were only going to get worse.    

"We need ta' pin down the source o' the problem!" He shouted, still not quite aware of the nature of the prison break. From the height gained by their animal companions, each of the students could hop over the temporal deceleration ring. The dotted trail of fiery turds was an obvious trail to follow. Once most of the animals within the ring laid out across the path, drowsiness and dreams taking hold of them, Farrin would leap over the ring and begin the next chase.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Luring the Zoo animals was the right move considering that along with Farrin's Quirk they Were easy pray for the Zookeepers to Tranquilize. Zenkai Was starting to come to the slow realization that the two of them actually made a pretty good team. Farrin honestly did all the heavy lifting but Zen brought the charm and the wit to the table so it was basically a fifty/fifty split on the Work load if you asked him.

"Yeah, What the hell actually started this shit show?" The golden boi shouted as he pointed to the Elephant, he now called Zeus (Her actual name was Bailey) to follow Farrin further into the Zoo. "It Was that Damn monkey and his taco bell poops, they're literally fire" One of the Zookeepers told Zen as he strode by on Zeus "Now, can we get Bailey back? We need to get her back to her enclosure" The titan let out a loud laugh, a Monkey with a fire poop quirk Was objectively as hilarious as it was troublesome.

Zenkai reached down and grabbed the tranq gun from the Zoo keeper and gave her a thumbs up "Don't Worry ma'am, we got this covered" Zen completely ignored her request for Zeus back, they were besties now and would see this through to the end. After making his way around the ring of time, Zen quickly caught up to Farrin on Zeus, having an Elephant was useful sometimes.

"It's a Monkey" Zen spoke as they followed the firey poops to it's source "I also got a tranquilizer gun from one of the nice Zoo keepers so we doing have to beat the poor thing up." Zenkai looked through the scope of the gun and aimed it around as he tested out the sight "I figured might as well keep to the tried and true method, you slow'em down and then I'll start blasting"

ne by one, each of Farrin's temporal fields blinked out of existence. With each fading field, another vehicle on the time-turner's mental freeway disappeared. Fewer distractions. His body protested the pursuit, but they knew what was at the heart of the chaos now. He just had to push his Chronokinetic uptime a little longer, then he could go back to his pizza and relax. 

Farrin let his foot off the mental gas, slowing a measure, both for the elephant's sake and his own. "I won't be able ta' slow down that many animals at once again fer a while. We need ta' corner this thing n' make sure we nab it on our first try." 

Chronokinesis made short work of active opposition. Historically, whether his opposition was strong or numerous, most fights with the time-turner ended rather swiftly. A blur in the wind and the battle was over. The prolonged use of too many fields at the same time, however, taxed him to mental poverty. 

"Care ta' explain how yuh' have that thing listenin' ta yuh?" 

Curiosity won out even during the oddest of times. Farrin saw a theme with Zen and his animals. There was the bear back on campus, and now this. A whole *** elephant marching forth at the student's word. 

The conversation would be cut short by flying, flaming fecal matter that swooped just overhead. Well, they were definitely getting close. A few Meerkats, little bastards, sprang across the long winding path, then scurried back in the direction the students came. The zookeepers would have to tend to them and the rest of the escapees for now. The more time Farrin and Zenkai spent rounding up every animal out of its cage, the more damage their fire monkey would cause. Speaking of which, the spark of orange flames round about a rock up ahead and down another path caught the time-turner's attention. It was closing on the Rhino exhibit now.

It made sense, he had to use his quirk near constantly and a great many animals ever since the zoo break began, he must have stretched himself thin. Luckily it seemed like they only had to deal with a monkey and that little fucker couldn't be THAT big right? Not like they were up against king Kong or anything like that.

Then came the obvious question, How he and Zeus were communicating which to be fair, made sense to ask. Unfortunately Zen had no idea how to explain his Disney Princess vibe to Farrin. "Always just had the ability to vibe with them, Zeus and I are now best buddies and she's ready to see this through until the end!" Was this statement factually correct? Zenkai honestly had no idea. He could vibe with animals but besides Beary-chan he couldn't exactly communicate with them. He just pointed and hoped that Zeus would understand what he was trying to say. Elephants were pretty smart after all.

With a pat to Zeus' side Zenkai told the Elephant to pick up the pace, It was clear where the monkey was headed to next and Zenkai would be damned if he was going to let the furry little fucker let the essentially blind murder tanks out of their pen. The titan stood up on the behemoth as he attempted to look over the rock to spot the monkey. The small little critter scurrying around towards it's next destination and an incredible pace.

"Farrin, I can see it but you're definitely going to have to slow it down before I shoot" As Zen spoke he aimed at the monkey and fired off a shot which he correctly guessed would miss "Cuz I've never fired a gun in my life, much less at a moving target... while moving"

washed over the time-turner's mind. What fuel remained in the temporal tank wasn't being guzzled down so ferociously anymore. He could think and act with precision, unburdened by dozens of fields slowing down countless creatures. Where his fields went, his mind went, but not there was silence. 

"Right then," he didn't need to understand how Zenkai got along so well with the animal kingdom, only that the elephant would continue to be of help rather than a hindrance. "I'm gonna head the little mucker off, n' catch him in one o' me fields. Dun' take long wit' yer shot, I somehow dun' think the livin' tanks are gonna appreciate me' bein' there." 

With that, Farrin blasted ahead. He could speed the Zenkai and his mount up too, but that certainly set him back some mental resources again. It would do them no good if, by the time he headed the monkey off, he was too tired to throw any more fields up. Darting forward, he leaped up atop the enclosure walls their little furry, fiery friend had crossed and followed suit. 

Fighting rhinos was not Farrin's idea of a good time. Normally the big fellas were friendlier than most might believe, so said the documentaries, but he was encroaching on their territory. Luckily, the mighty beasts kept their distance from the minute flames their target left behind. Farrin zigzagged between the many mounds and the flames, then sped on ahead toward their capuchin friends that were attempting to escape on the other side of the enclosure. Farrin leaped atop a small boulder, then again into the air, and with the forward flush of his hand, a field appeared just inches ahead of the troublemaker. It shouted, then leaped up right into the trap, slowing to a crawl. Now, Zenkai just needed to take his shot.

[attr="class","ZenkaiExposition"]Watching Farrin run at inhuman speeds was something Zen was pretty sure he'd never get used to. The Time Turner was faster than anyone he had ever seen but that made sense, he was time incarnate, it only made sense that he'd nyoom around like the laws of physics didn't apply to him. Luckily the student was on their side, The titan shuddered to think how much trouble he would cause as a villain. Honestly, any one of their friends would have been a nightmare to deal with if they ever decided to turn bad.

It didn't take long for Farrin to cut their target off, he was cracked out on temporal energy and racing a monkey. Zen assumed that this was essentially child's play even if the time turner was getting tired. Lucky for Farrin he seemed to have been fast enough not to have disturbed the Rhinos in the cell and a split second later he had the monkey caught in a temporal field. It was weird seeing the monkey stuck in the middle of the air, slowly moving as if it was in an action movie.

Now that the monkey had been halted it was up to Zen to put an end to it's fiery fecal fanaticism. Unlike Farrin though, he didn't have the luxury of entering the enclosure, especially on the back of Zeus. What he did have though was the height to see directly into the enclosure and a direct line of site to the monkey. He might not have been the best shot but he had a few rounds to get the damn thing.

It was a good thing that Zen had a few shots too. The first shot he took went wide and hit one of the Rhino's in the butt. The second whizzed directly by Farrin. The third and final shot found it's mark, tagging the poor little firestarter directly in it's bottom hopefully putting an end to it's rampage.

"Think I got him Time Lord" The titan shouted across the rhino pen "You should be able to lower your timey-whimey shenanigans now"

 few loose hairs were nabbed by the tranq dart that flew by Farrin's face. Zenkai's earlier warning was merited. Most people were born with certain talents. They could refine themselves and their skillset with enough effort, but everyone had something that came naturally. Shooting was not Zenkai's forte. Communicating with the animal kingdom? Sure. Genetics, likely accompanied by plenty of training, that saw him stand as a monster among men? Absolutely. But not shooting. If it were up to Farrin, the giant would never hold a gun again. 

The wind whipped at the time-turner's hair as he fell from the arc of his jump. His hands reached out and just barely snatched their fiery friend out of the air. His shoulder smacked hard against the dirt and gravel, and he rolled clumsily to his side. A split second later, he popped up onto his feet and leaped up onto the enclosure wall, using one arm to pin the unconscious monkey to his shoulder and the other to climb. It still wasn't smart sticking around in Rhinotown. 

A moment later, he pulled himself up and over, back onto one of the many paths that spiderwebbed the zoo. The motes of temporal flame faded, as did the crackling emerald powers, and so Farrin let himself drop, shielding the convict with his body, of course. It wasn't an "i can't stand anymore" type of collapse, but more of an "I'm lazy. This is a nice spot" situation. He had honed his body for such physical straits, but the mind was not so easily guarded against temporal sifting - not when using his quirk on the scale he had earlier. 

When Zen approached on his massive steed, Farrin simply threw an arm upward, a thumbs up signaling he and the monkey were okay. "Got our little fire shitter right 'ere!" He then shouted for the zookeepers to hear. Two of them ran on over, one of them snatching the little fella up off his shoulder, the other helping Farrin to his feet.

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The both of you! You have no idea how much you've helped us!" 

Yeah, he had a pretty good idea, but he wasn't about to guilt them. "Think nothin' of it," he replied, then looking to Zenkai. "I think yer gonna have ta' turn yer new friend over, bud." Once Zenkai made his way off Zeus's back, all Farrin had left in him was, "c'mon. I want me' damn pizza."

They had saved the Zoo together, they had laughed together, they had cried together, they now shared a truly miraculous time. But now it was feeding time for the two of them and the would have to part here as enemies turned friends. "I'll visit you" The titan whispered gently to Zeus, pressing his forehead up against hers "I'll remember you for the rest of my life" With that Zenkai and Zeus parted ways, Zeus to her enclosure, Zen to pizza.

On their way out Zenkai couldn't help himself from lending a hand in the clean-up. He wasn't the strongest but he was big and he was tall. It was light work for the titan to lift up the stalls and help mend fences. No doubt Farrin would do his part in the repair effort as well. It took the better part of two hours for the two of them to get most of the heavy shit back into place but it was an effort that seemed to be greatly appreciated by the staff.

By the time the two of them were done, Zenkai was absolutely starving. What was supposed to be a nice, easy day turned out to be probably one of the best days of Zenkai's young life. He probably would have considered it a complete disaster had it not been for the fact he got to suplex a tiger and ride a god damn elephant. "Alrighty, With the cleaning mostly done, lets go grab that sorry excuse for what they call Pizza"

hile Zenkai lifted up fallen trees and broken off pieces of a the enclosures, Farrin helped douse the remaining flames. A few minutes rest worked its way through both mind and body, and with one chronokinetic field, his personal one, the work was far less taxing. One of the zookeepers handed him a fire extinguishers and then he was off. One by one the fires were put out. A few had grown, threatening inferno on the zoo, but a flick of the wrist slowed the spread and made easy work of even the largest flames. 

Eventually, the last of the fences were mended, ruined terrain was pushed aside leaving the zoo's many paths traversable again, and the fires were all put out. When Farrin looped back around to join Zenkai, it was with a comically loud growl of the stomach. Once that signaled his demand for nourishment, however meager. 

"Well, we saw the zoo, big fella," he offered Zenkai, "but yeah, it's time fer food." 

He doubled down on his earlier comment. Atrocious as this place's attempt at New York style pizza was, he want some dough with sauce and cheese on it. When the two students exited the zoo, it was to a profound lack of pizza on the ticket desk. He knew one of the escapees was likely to grab the cheesy snack and gobble it down before they finished, but one could have hoped. Fresh pizza it was. 

"Tell me, lad. Can yuh convince a gorilla to arm wrestle yuh?" 

 A ridiculous question brought on by Zenkai's apparent ability to commune with the animal kingdom, and a conversation starter to occupy them as they went to work at round two with lunch.
