Round 4 Through the cooperation of three students a safe zone of sorts was established and the innocents -as well as several other students- were led to safety. With Amilia leading from the front and keeping the street clear Miroru had a neat route to escort her crowd of dolls through as well. A crowd that seemed very interesting in coming along.
"Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me. Don't leave me."
The dolls spoke all at the same time, the words spilling over each contestant like streams of water. Perhaps the metaphor was caused by the surroundings for water was in short supply and the heat was slowly growing beyond unbearable. With loud thumps the source of the increasing heat came closer and closer, the closest ones held at bay by the actions of Hebi just long enough for the road to remain clear as the group moved on. One laser fired and a giant went down. A second fired and another toppled. Only on the third did things get... complicated.
As the two giants toppled and a large wave of heat was unleashed upon the surroundings something else came with it. Memories.
A young girl standing amidst a burning village. Despair on her features, eyes scanning to and fro with fear and expectation. Deeper into the flames she went, a name on her lips. It echoed over and over until the girl's throat went raw. She stumbled and-
Within a split second the wave moved past and the memory vanished like snow before the sun. Yet the threat had not vanished with them. The loud thumps were nearly matched in intensity by the crunching of houses trampled underfoot when the giants reached the edge of the large neighborhood, their approach momentarily slowed by Hebi's efforts but not halted. All the same more and more dolls flowed from side streets and towards the students. The situation looked hopeless yet there was a way to move forward.
Find where the road leads before the giants catch up. Fail and who knows what shall occur?

Deck of Canes Drawback: The wood is weathered and of questionable durability, canes might break upon use.
Laser Cannon Drawback: It’s unwieldy, takes a lot of time to charge and has a chance to get so hot that it burns the user.

Round 4
"Law enforcement has a habit of getting in the way. Plan accordingly. There is a plinth on the other side of the arena. Place the orb there to activate the final challenge. Or don't. It's not like there's poisonous gas filling up the arena. Take as long as you like."
As various cracks and crevices began hissing orbs flew all over the place, some being caught and passed along while others fell and blew up. Were that all perhaps there would be less casualties yet as the police droids employed their tasers on any too distracted or slow to evade them more orbs dropped in close proximity setting off a cacophony of explosions and screams. Despite how loud it all was a single voice could be heard; Not on account of its volume but purely due to how commanding it was.
"True orb: Attract," The woman spoke causing one of her metallic gauntlets to light up and an orb not too far from DupliSkater to fly her way.
"Satri, you absolu-"
"DupliSkater: Repulse," Satri commanded once more and this time her other gauntlet lit up and sent the man in question flying. Holding the orb in question with both hands she seemed perfectly in control as she continued speaking. "Hardly a challenge. I shall be the one to claim victory."
A mere moment later she realized that it wasn't the man's quirk causing the duplication but an item of his, meaning her actions had not removed the other orbs from play. Something that became glaringly obvious when the first false orb was shucked at her feet.
She was far from the only one to misunderstand the usage of certain items. While Chirp managed to use his Mahjong Tiles to reach DupliSkater's wake and the Sticky Hand to grab one of the false orbs he found his footing ending abruptly when he tried to follow the man's path. Clearly the skater's shoes had functioned in a manner more similar to Chirp's own tiles than to a bridge. Unlike him yet with similar results Khepri's Robo-Cat prowled through the contestants, wandering as it pleased with its mission utterly forgotten.
For others their items worked exactly as advertised. Perhaps, in fact, a little too much as advertised. The WatchDog V1 succeeded in fetching the orb like the good boy it was. Throw it was very fond of. Take, not so much. Some creative coaxing might be needed on Taro's end to retrieve the orb before it detonated. It certainly wouldn't mind the interaction, its robotic tail wagging wildly no matter how much the Robo-Cat hissed in its direction.

Round 4 As rocks fell from the top of the mountain throwing up billowing clouds of smoke the music hitched for just the slightest moment before resuming as if nothing had happened.
"That's- Uh- Adversity can come from all manner of unexpected avenues on your road to the peak!" Windfall spoke up once the majority of the noise from the rockslide died down. "To be a Pro is to roll with the punches and never lose sight of your goal. Plus Ultra!"
Compared to the storm from before and the falling rocks right after the calm mountain looked downright picturesque, naught but the peak yet embroiled in a storm.
Yet where the tempestuous scenery had cooled the encounters between contestants grew positively heated. In some places it was the good kind. Michael's actions had prompted cooperation and supportiveness, the group of students sheltering within his impromptu cave putting their heads together to reach the top as a team. Students with items to ease the climb assisted others while those with more defensive ones made sure no stray rock or gust of wind dropped one of their allies. Those with more offensive ones cleared obstacles ahead to smooth the path or fended off hostile participants, the very picture of how hero society should be.
Another portion showed exactly why it was unlikely to ever reach that ideal. Emboldened by Gen's act and lack of consequences a cascade of betrayals and battles broke out as a number of contestants attempted to gain an advantage over their peers in less moral ways. Like Jack others stepped up to stop those, prioritizing the safety of others over their own victory or perhaps just following their own code, some might've even committed just for vengeance.
Less noticeable but still present were those who took Kaida's approach. Climbing on and reaching ever higher without getting dragged into the foibles and grievances of their fellows.
Which path would be the right one -or if there even was one- one could not say. Only the results could prove that, and the games were far from over.

Standing at the height of a five-year-old, he wears oversized ragged clothing that smells like garbage. Fortunately, by constantly smoking cigarettes, he can drown out the scent with a lesser evil. On the bright side, it makes him look cool with any of the side effects that flesh and lungs would suffer.
As a spirit, he manifests as a fist-sized blue flame, completely absent of heat. When he possesses his corpse, two flames appear where his irises would have been — an involuntary sign that he's home. Can't even pretend to sleep because everyone will be knockin' on the side of your dumpster asking for spare change.
Lastly, his voice is deep and gravelly. While the rest of him hasn't changed since he was five, his voice continued to change with his age. Maybe, it's a reflection of his inner identity. Maybe, it's because his bones are old. He was born to a homeless woman who didn't want him but couldn't afford to get the morning-after pill, let alone an abortion. She didn't know who the father was. Life was a messy, drugged-up blur. And had she thought the baby was alive when it was 'born' she might have felt bad about the affair. Instead, she didn't know and she didn't feel anything until the very end.
No one ever found Hugh. No [i]human[/i] found him. He was raised by rodents and treated like one of their own. Keep in mind, this was before quirks — there was a series of miracles that led him to be fed and free of disease. The lifestyle would eventually wear on his body. Once he turned five, he met his cold, bitter end in the same dumpster he was thrown in.
And then he came back.
He looked at his body from a third-person view, not questioning what had happened, and simply stepped back into it. This time, he woke up all bones. It'd take a few years for him to learn about quirks and how the world changed. It was a dramatic shift. [i]Apparently.[/i] But to him it was the same old same old. A lesson he quickly learned was that even if the world is flipped upside down, no one is going to take care of you but yourself.
With age came wisdom. Hugh moved beyond his selfish individualism and opted to change the world in the ways he could — one stomach at a time. When Hugh died, he became a 'spirit' with the ability to possess his corpse. As a spirit, he's given supernatural senses to replace seeing, and hearing, despite lacking biology. He can float a few feet off the ground and move a limited distance from his corpse. By possessing his own dead body, he's able to interact with the world gaining touch, smell, and taste.

Round 3
As with any cozy neighborhood the sound of children playing and distant clamor could be heard.
"Help me. Help me. Help me. Help me."
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Unlike most other cozy neighborhoods however the situation in this one seemed to get direr by the second even without the involvement of a Homeowner's Association.
The fire continued to spread, albeit slower than before, consuming more and more of the traversable terrain. Only the street cleared by Amelia and a few other spots where the fire hydrants had seen usage remained relatively fire-free.
Even the rooftops began to grow hot, as clear of a signal as any that before long they too would be set ablaze. Yet for now they held and were clearly used to great effect. Something that was clear for all to see when a massive beam of light fired from one of them causing one of the approaching giants to fall with a thunderous crash.
The remainder reached the outskirts and almost seemed to be absorbing any fire they came into contact with. It was enough to make any adult panic, let alone a child.
"I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared. I'm scared."
All of the mannequins started walking towards the nearest participant, latching on to them and refusing to let go once they caught on.
"When doing what is right those who cannot fend for themselves may become a burden to your efforts. Where does your focus lie? What choice will you make? Only you can decide."
The rescued mannequins laying on the street stood up, their eyes lighting up just like the ones closer to the students. With slow, almost vulnerable motions they clumsily took small steps in the direction of whoever they could see.
Worse than the ones on the street however were the ones coming from the burning houses, the melting synthetics of unsaved forms sloughing off with each step they took. The crackling flames moved with them, carried through their burning clothes. Compared to the fire covering the giants still approaching in the distance it was nothing. With every step they took an ever hotter wave of heat blasted towards the contestants.
Whether it was a problem small or big, if it was not dealt with soon it was bound to get out of hand.

Round 3 As a certain group was enjoying a leisurely break and a tasty drink -with the exception of Taro's which was decidedly less tasty- the majority of the competitors struggled on, racing for the golden orb as police robots in turn raced after them.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. Give it up for DupliSkater. Oh, what's that?" The orb held by the first participant who managed to grab it began to pulse ominously. "It appears he will need to give it up himself. To get greater profit sometimes you need to collaborate, especially when law enforcement is on your tail. Hold the prize for too long and it detonates. Drop it and it detonates. Anyone too stupid to not get those instructions deserves to get blown up. Good luck with the group project."
"What?! This is bullshit!" DupliSkater shouted back to the nearest speaker. "To hell with this!"
Pressing a button on his menu he summoned a circus ring, stuck his hand through and threw the orb at the nearest other participant. Then he snapped his fingers and was holding an orb once more. Repeating the maneuver over and over more than a dozen pulsing glowing orbs were flying through the air before he finally pulled his arm back out and tapped the heels of his boots together.
"Have fun finding the right one, suckers!"
Running through the air on invisible platforms in between all the flying objects the man himself was quickly put out of everyone's mind as they scrambled to catch every single one of the thrown orbs.
The race was on. Who would win in the end only time could tell...
...That was, if any managed to keep the true object of their desires safe at all.
"Halt! You're all under arrest!" One of the robots blared while driving onto the scene, the prongs of its tasers launching towards one of the competitors and sending them twitching to the ground before promptly being blown up by their dropped orb. Several others even split from the main force to chase down stray competitors, seemingly tracking them down with a precision that bordered on the supernatural. Either that or something the contestants were given had a tracking device, something they couldn't remove due to its intangible nature yet ever present.
But surely the villainous organizers wouldn't put a function like that on the inventory now would they?

Round 3As the storm grew ever stronger and started to swirl in a whirlwind pattern above the mountain the announcer spoke up once more. "To rise is to struggle and to climb is to catch yourself whenever you fall! Come on, you got this! Keep going! You're all doing so well it's only right for us to contribute too. Everyone give it up for the guitar hero, Raging Winds!" Music became audible all across the arena. Carried by the ever increasing intensity of the weather the wind blanketed everyone with sound alongside debris, pieces of rock, twigs and small woodland creatures. "Yeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!! Big thanks for having me, Windfall. You're the best. Let's hear it everyone! Reach for the top, go for greater heights. Pluuuus Ullllllttttrrraaaaaaaa!!!"
Whether it was the encouragement or the increased amount of threats many contestants ironically found a second wind to keep themselves going. More than one of them made use of Michael's improvised handholds to climb or nearly ran into the invisible Kaida in their rush to reach the top, blissfully ignorant of just why the Zeppelin seemed to be turning and moving even further away from the mountain. Perhaps it was a coincidence that Jack rocketed got clobbered as he rocketed to the top, perhaps it was foreshadowing as to their own fate.
Only time could tell.
About half a minute in fact before something large flew over their heads, detonated near the top of the mountainside and added a great deal of difficulty to the challenge.

Despite her stature Akaiken still seems to have a noticeable figure. She has several scars mostly cuts along the outsides of her arms and legs. The most prominent scar she bears is a large diagonal gash across her back, carving a new line into her full tattoo.
The tattoo itself she gained from her time in the Somoto-gumi Yakuza group. The main scene of the tattoo depicts a bloodied dragon, skewered by a the blade of a red katana, reaching to devour the symbol of the somoto-gumi. The tips of that symbol, a butterfly whose wings were consumed in flame, is barely visible at the nape of her neck though it was partially severed by the end of the scar.
[div][div][attr="class","body"][div][attr="class","header2"]HISTORY[/div][/div] [div]Akaiken's history is marked with tragedy. Her family, her freedom, her charge. She was one of the ones who slipped through the cracks. No hero ever came to save her, nor any of those she cared about.
First was her family. Her parents ran a small operation of developing gear and weapons for Hero use, however when they were robbed by Villains their lives were also taken. She was young, had barely started developing her quirk. Akaiken managed to take one by surprise with a sword her parents worked on, running him through before the Heroes even arrived. By the time the police came she was in such a fearful state that she swung even at them, managing to escape while the heroes caught up with the rest of the attackers.
It was then she met the Somoto group. Yakuza.
From then on her life was made up of primarily training, and missions... that is to say, villainy. She didn't have a choice in the matter. Or at least, not a choice that ended with her alive. It wasn't all bad though, she did make a couple friends. The boss' daughter and the young man who trained with her most. The three of them grew quite close, though when one died during a mission she could only blame herself. The closest thing she'd ever experienced to a hero, her friend threw himself in front of a blow meant for her, later dying from his wounds. This is what pushed her to hold a desire for strength above all else so that she would never have to handle such a thing again.
Unfortunately, this wouldn't be the last.
She was in her second year of high school when the Somoto-gumi fell. A group of villains after the territory struck, taking out almost everyone before Heroes arrived. If any Yakuza survived they were jailed right alongside the villains. However, minors, such as Akaiken were largely considered innocent, especially after Akaiken's history came out. Even if she'd committed crimes in the past, it was coerced and no real evidence of such crimes remained.
She was lucky that no one realized that crimes under the name of the Crimson Devil could've been committed by someone so young. [/div] [div]After the fall of the Somoto group, she was put into foster care to finish out high school though she took some time off to save up money before starting college. [/div]
