While Masao can come across as intense and unfeeling, it couldn't be further from the truth. She cares a lot about those around her and is very loyal to her friends. She also has a secret appreciation for cute things which no one can know about.

My parents wanted a son to inherit the family manufacturing business, so I was given a boy's name and raised as a boy. My earliest memories are of my parents showing me the workshop and the forge I would one day use to tame steel just like them.
At the age of six I inherited my mother's armor quirk. It was an armor just like hers, with an activation switch akin to my father's quirk. At the time I was ecstatic, but I soon learned it would take many years for me to earn this armor, this heavy burden. My parents wanted me to have the world. To use their status and experience to train me to be the best weaponsmith in Japan, but they also forced me to train towards becoming a hero. To use my armor for the people.
I named my power ''Fake Divine'' when I learned firsthand how impossible it was to meet their expectations, and yet I press on.
I passed the UAU support student entrance exam. It was no surprise that they were impressed with my product, I had been honing my craft since I was a child. In my first year at UAU I excelled at every written test, every practical test, my weapon production was steady and of high quality. The problem was, it wasn't good enough. By the end of my first year I hadn't managed to stand out at all on the manufacturing front. I was doing well, but I wasn't the shining example of hope that my parents hoped.
I intend to remedy the mistakes of my first year heading into my second year. The only problem is this former Shiketsu student. She's on the hero course and she's a troublemaker. I am to be her student liaison. Monitor her every move and make sure she keeps up with school because she's too immature to do it by herself. It's irritating, but it's just another hurdle I need to overcome on my journey to becoming a hero.

When she overuses her quirk or her armor absorbs too much damage, it will automatically fade away and leave her exhausted, often unable to run or stand for a short period of time.

Round 2 Bullets flew on as contestant after contestant either got hit by a barrage, managed to get clear or even both. A bloodcurdling scream resounded even over the sound of gunfire.
"Ladies and gentlemen in the audience. It appears we have our first casualty. Clearly not all of the bullets were rubber."
As the guns slowly began to click empty the smell of gunpowder hung heavy in the air amidst the carnage. Shells lay amidst scattered bodies. Some moaning in pain, others knocked unconscious by one too many hit and the rare few with pools of blood slowly spreading from beneath them.
"Congratulations. You've managed to accomplish the absolute bare minimum and survived. For now. With so much noise there's bound to be reprisal. Get what you need and get out. Be fast or be gone. There are no other options."
As sirens closed in and red lights flashed in every direction a golden aura seemed to emanate from a single window in the distance.
"Those attentive enough to notice may have spotted the glitter of gold in the distance. To those that didn't, consider this information my biggest and last kind act of the day. Your goal is to retrieve the object giving off the glow, first one to pick it up wins something fun."
Within the building in question laid a head-sized golden orb pulsing rhythmically with internal light. What it was, what it did and why it was important were unknown. Yet despite all of that whoever laid their eyes upon it was instilled with a sense of awe and a desire to claim it for themselves. Whether that would be a good idea remained to be seen.

Round 2 No matter what the contestants did the fire kept spreading and already several of them had vanished in a flash of blue light, seemingly whisked away to safety as they passed out due to the smoke. Clearly not every student was as capable of judging their limits as the rest.
But could they truly be blamed? The very horizon seemed colored in oranges, browns and reds from the sheer amount of fire covering the neighborhood. The very picture of an apocalyptic disaster. Luckily the students had something to distract them from the hopeless situation.
"Help me. Help me. Help me. Help me."
Each of the child-sized mannequins tonelessly repeated the phrase over and over, their mouths opening and closing like that of a nutcracker.
Thump.
From the distance a loud sound became audible. And then another. And another.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
Through the smoke cloud large figures could be seen slowly getting closer and closer with every ground-shaking step.
"What matters most? Is it the big picture? The little ones crushed underfoot? Do you value your own survival most, or perhaps is it glory and fame you care for? When the chips are down your true nature comes out. Make your choice."
With a click of static the announcer's message ended leaving the students to deal with the situations at hand.

Round 2 Each student navigated the arena in their own way. Some ran, some slid and some climbed while others jumped. There was even a group that had collaborated to make use of their gear, one member's drone flying another's hook and rope up a large hill before they employed a third's sled to slide down the other side.
Time went on yet the struggles continued. But so did the accomplishments. Already several were nearing -or even reaching- the middle of the arena all in their own ways, lighting the way to a brighter future much like the giant beam of light lit up a circle at the very middle of the arena.
Eventually the beam vanished and yet...
The shaking did not stop. If anything it intensified. The reason was soon revealed as the center began to rise higher and higher followed by the rest of the arena, the previously hilly area becoming the sides of a veritable mountain reaching nearly as high as the zeppelin still circling the bounds of the arena. "At the beginning one has a far easier time reaching the top even if the path may be unclear. If you have yet to reach it do not be discouraged! For though it may become harder to reach, examples that can be looked to now stand at the top and the way forward is clear. To those who have. Do not drop your guard, for reaching the top is only the first step. Staying there is far harder."
Storm clouds formed above the mountain as winds began to blow at high speeds and lightning crackled. Rain, snow and hail alike battered the entire mountain making the climb quite precarious. Even so it was harsher for those at the top, for where the climbers faced the elements from but one side of the mountain those standing atop the peak had no such shelter. They bore the brunt.

✧ARMOR WARS: UAU EXHIBIT ✧
Screens dotted the walls and holographic displays gave a more 3D vision of the going-ons within the various arenas yet they were far from the only eyecatchers within UAU's exhibit.
The school, and more importantly several wealthy sponsors and advertisers, had spared no expense in setting up this event. Replicas of gear employed by the contestants was set within glass cases alongside prototypes under development by various companies as well as the latest new releases. Scattered throughout the exhibit were several testing zones akin to large, high-tech versions of batting cages, each with several pieces of equipment available to try out.
Interspersed between the exhibits and elaborate decorations were a variety of stands, many of which were already attracting crowds. Some sold food or beverages, others advertised companies, products or even hero agencies and yet more provided various means of entertainment. With the ambience brought in by the audience it was bound to be a blast!
Gear: Jeanne’s Arch Rank: S Description: An ornately decorated stone arch. Walking through it grants you a portable cannon with a single cannonball in it and changes your clothing to a medieval equivalent. The arch can only be used once per round. Drawback: The clothing manifested by the arch may be positively silly. Additionally there is a chance the cannon does not contain a cannonball meaning you’re just lugging around a heavy piece of iron. Created by: Jinx
Gear: ShockStick v1 Rank: A Description: An unremarkable jet black metal rod, roughly the size and shape of an EpiPen. When engaged by pressing a button, it can be jabbed into someone to deliver an electric shock. It has 3 settings, labelled ‘Deter’, ‘Stun’, and ‘Disable’. Drawbacks: Due to an error with the voltage-gating, the settings may not be descriptive of their actual function. When the drawback is triggered ‘Deter’ delivers a shock strong enough to knock someone out, ‘Stun’ is about as effective as a joy buzzer and ‘Disable’ short-circuits the device for one round. Gear: Knuckle Duster BUSTAH Rank: A Description: A pair of thick, brass knuckles that cover the top of the hand to guard it. These bad boiz have been modified to provide an option of 50\50 chance of either launching a firework explosion upon impact, or bursting out gunpowder! A gust of wind NORMALLY pushes the fireworks & gunpowder towards the opponent. Nothin' beats the element of surprise, suckaaaaas! Drawback: They may heat up warmer than a toasted marshmallow. The fireworks will spark towards the user, gunpowder is pretty darn flammable and may dust back on the user when this option is activated with the gust mechanism failing. Created by: Gadget (Memes)

Gear: POW! BONK! WHAM! Rank: A Description: A comically large triple barreled, spring loaded cannon that can be wielded with one hand! So cool! Round 1 Environmental catastrophes. Coordinated mayhem. Tokyo had been met with many great dangers lately, which only accelerated its need for protectors. As a response to these circumstances a challenge was hosted for the hero hopefuls of UAU to test their abilities in handling any situation. Yet they were not the only ones for which a challenge had been prepared, for the underworld too managed to nab a fair amount of gear and prepare their own arena. Word had spread through the grapevine and betting rings had been set up to gamble on the contestants' fates.
Each participant would be given a device that displays a list of gear assigned to them, which could be selected to materialize before them to use. With the sheer amount of gear available, no one was expected to physically carry them all.
Once everyone received their devices and assigned items, they would be led into a room, if it could even be called that. It was less like a room and more like a white void, the doors only sliding closed to emphasize the emptiness once the last participant -willing or otherwise- went through. The only things everyone would see are each other and a digital clock projected on the floor, counting down the seconds.
There was also a tingling sensation in the air. Not enough to be oppressive, but enough to clue many in on the fact that some kind of field was at work. Totally unrelated to the fact that any attempt at using one's Quirk would fail.
This discovery would be short-lived as the timer reached zero and the scenery shifted.

Tall buildings, neon lights and detritus spread all over the place were revealed to the contestants. In the distant loud, thumping music blared and closer by a car alarm added to the cacophony of sound.
Mere moments after the scene was revealed a loud static erupted for several long seconds before an announcer cleared their throat and began to speak.
"Welcome, low lives and high rollers, to the madhouse. We're all gathered here in remembrance of these poor saps' bright futures, gone the moment they set foot in this arena. Let's have us a moment of silence shall we?"
With a series of clicks, gear noises and creaking sounds slits reveal themselves, windows slide open and doors show what was hidden behind them as a vast amount of gun barrels poke through each of them, pointing in all directions from more spots than anyone could count.
"...and there goes our moment of silence folks. Let's hope the crew didn't forget they were supposed to put rubber bullets in those. To our currently intact contestants I have a few words. Your objective is simple. Survive!"
For but a second there is complete and utter silence. Then every single gun opens fire all at the same time.

Several support majors and gear industries were called upon to craft their creations for the event as well, to not only showcase the ingenuity of their inventions, but the ingenuity - and perhaps bravery - of the participants who will utilize the experimental equipment.

Dozens of students found themselves standing in the midst of a picturesque neighborhood. Standing atop a cozy street they were surrounded by small houses and well-maintained gardens. Unfortunately there was a minor problem. Everything was on fire.
"Welcome, contestants. Out in the field one often finds themselves in the most chaotic of situations with little time to catch their bearings. It is important to keep a cool head no matter how heated things get. Secure your own safety first, for dead heroes can protect no one. For those so inclined there is a child-sized mannequin within each house that you can carry with you to safety. It won't give extra credit but you'll get to feel good about yourself. Keep your limits in mind everyone and best of luck."
The moment the announcer finished speaking the fire began to spread across the ground, inching closer and closer to the contestants. Several fire hydrants with hoses attached to them were spread around the neighborhood, allowing one to temporarily fight off the fire should they be so inclined. The perceptive of the bunch might notice that the fire didn't quite seem to reach any of the roofs either. What other solutions could be found, well, who could say?

When the void parted the large group of contestants found themselves at the edge of the arena. In front of them lay packed earth, sparse undergrowth and a large amount of trees populating what appeared to be a hilly forest zone.
Their first warning that not all was as it seemed came in the form of shaking before the ground behind them began to sink, earth crumbling away and falling into the depths below as the announcer spoke up over the roaring cheers of the crowd.
"Welcome, contestants! As a hero one must be prepared for everything, even the very ground beneath their feet giving way. Give it your all to race to the center lest you fall. Plus Ultra!"
Yet the ground behind them was not the only place the earth began to sink for at various other points throughout the arena sinkholes began to form, uprooting trees and creating a variety of hindrances along the way.
In other places the ground rose, clouds of dirt and debris sent billowing out to obscure the vision of anyone caught in their vicinity. From the very center of the arena a wide beam of light lit up the sky like a beacon, so close yet so far. The continued shaking of the arena made one thing very clear. As time went on it would only get harder and harder to reach the middle intact.
