The moment she set foot on the boat all expression fell off Bakuretsu's face and she scanned the area around her with analytic eyes. Raising two fingers before pointing them towards the front of the ship she signaled her temporary allies before making her way to the nearest container with soft steps. A dud, or at the very least not one with the stuff they were looking for. It took three more containers and a bit of ignoring the noise Gorillo was making up front to finally find what they were looking for. Dropping into a crouch Retsu unzipped a side pocket to grab her tools. With a wiggle she used her tension wrench to set the lock before getting to work. Making sure to ignore the girl behind her she continued picking until the lock clicked open. She placed her knee below the lock to let the cylinder drop without a metallic clang before she removed the rest of the lock from the lock box. "Well, El Dee Gee, you just gon' stand there lookin' pretty or are ya actually gonna do somethin' useful for once? Get these doors open already."Taking a step back and stretching her shoulders she prepared to dig into the meat of the matter. She certainly wasn't disappointed. To say they were smuggling arms into Tokyo would be the understatement of the century. Quite frankly the quantity present in just this container alone was enough to intimidate Bakuretsu. Was whoever owned this stuff trying to start World War 3? Either way her airsoft pistol wasn't gonna hold up. She'd need to sting much harder if she was to keep up and wouldn't you know it, the Scorpion SMG seemed like just the thing that could do that. Flicking the switch to full auto she slipped a few spare clips into her pockets and continued to ignore LDG. So what if her aim sucked? Weight of fire easily made up for that. Either way there was no time to continue 'enjoying' the other woman's company. Gorillo had probably already contained the two up front and they needed to get a move on if they were to secure the rest before they could ring an alarm. ------ Tags: Revision Bakiri Retsu

He could fly. The fucker could gods-damned fly. How many abilities can one guy have and how in all the hells could they have hired someone like that to get rid of her? Something felt off but Retsu couldn't quite tell what. Instead she decided to simply throw another grenade at the nearest target. Not a moment too soon either as said target -some guy with a shrimp-shaped head- managed to graze her thigh with a bullet before having to dive back into cover. "Fahk!"
She explained her feelings on the matter eloquently. It seemed like at least one of them was in fact packing something with a punch and Retsu, well, she wasn't quite interested in being made into this joke's punchline. Seeing smoke begin to billow into their little dining area she tossed the final bomb she brought with her diagonally into the skate park to extend the cloud further and into a different direction. If nothing else it'd give her more cover while she booked it.
"Junior, ah'm gunna skihn you aloive! Mork my wurds!"
Retsu shouted over the same shoulder she slung her bag over while keeping an eye to the sky. She didn't know what the white haired assassin's deal was but she wasn't planning to be here when he got back. Expanding her lungs and sucking in air -and then again a second time through her mouth after coughing out the blood she inhaled the first time- Retsu held her breath and rushed into the expanding cloud while ignoring the painful twinges every movement shot through her leg. She'd memorized the assassin's face. One day she'd be back for him. She didn't know how long it would take but she'd be ready in due time and then it'd be his turn to pay. ------ Remaining explosives: Tags: Sebastian Sinclaire Bakiri Retsu

Retsu's lip curled up in disgust. She was about to ask how the glorified match stick was gonna try to pull that off when LDG took the words right out of her mouth. If there was one thing she hated more than being disrespected or interrupted it was finding herself thinking the same thing as that bitch. Her thoughts were her own and the very idea she might be similar to the other woman made her hand twitch towards her arsenal. She swallowed the bitter thought down. There would be more than enough time for recrimination after they'd solved the mystery of the newest pile of shit that had been dropped onto Bakuretsu's lap. At least the remainder of Firebrand's self-aggrandizing rant alleviated some of her conecerns. Having had the choice between bringing her newly acquired and in the process of being modified guns or stuffing more explosives in her bag had been an easy one but it didn't change the fact that she'd prefer to be packing some iron heavier than the airsoft pistol she'd put in her shoulder holder. Something about it felt off however. Really, really off. Unfortunately she couldn't quite place what. "Seriously? We're supposed to fit inta that?" Bakuretsu grumbled. The raft swayed when she stepped in, nearly tipping under the weight of the heavy duffel bag held over her shoulder. Half leaning over the side so the rest could fit in her eyebrow twitched at the lack of space. The rotten cherry atop the whole shit cake was that LDG was firmly pressed up against her other side. She was tempted to push her and her smug smirk overboard.
It was only when they were halfway there, far enough from the coast that she wouldn't be able to make the swim without ridding herself of her entire collection that one and one came together in her mind and turned out to be three. The picture was far too clear. By itself not a big tip off but it clearly wasn't taken in a hurry. What really smelled though was the ship sitting off the coast. The bay of Tokyo had plenty of space for even the largest ships to sit pretty in a dock and she knew from personal experience the coast guard was so crooked it was a wonder they could walk without falling over. Bribing your way past their inspections was barely even an inconvenience. No, the ship was out there for a reason.
Someone was about to get fucked over and if she was to be honest, she didn't like her chances.

Doors were a set, agreed upon entrance constructed by the people in charge of whatever building they were in that everyone was just expected to use in order to gain access, limiting their options in favor of obedience. Retsu had never been one to listen to authority and she wasn't about to start now. Using her own way in the moment she heard her little present go off she rushed through past the dazed gangsters. On the way she slapped a piece of C4 underneath each of the three massive dough mixing tanks within the area she'd breached setting timers for a minute, three minutes and ten minutes respectively. The massive echoes they'd make should draw some of the attention away to an area she was no longer in. For as much of an arsenal as she'd brought she knew she wasn't bullet proof and wasn't about to tempt fate by getting herself surrounded. On that note she craned her ears, figuring that at least someone should be coming to check out the commotion. While she was more than willing to look a gift horse in the mouth to critique its teeth she had better things to do right now and after tossing a frag grenade over the overturned table the pair of guards were cowering behind she leaped up and grabbed onto the side of a conveyor belt to pull herself up. From there the nearest vent was but one OSHA nightmare of a walk away. Making sure to use her modified airsoft rifle to shoot out several windows on the other side of the hall first she clambered her way up and used her combat knife to wrench the grill off. Stuffing her heavy bag through the opening and following after took valuable time she wouldn't have had were the Akimichis competent enough to send someone out immediately but Retsu couldn't care less about whether she fit in and forced her way through regardlessly. Her face split into a wide grin hearing the first of her bombs going off behind her with an echo that no doubt reverberated through the entire factorial complex. That lack of caution would be the last mistake they'd ever make. She'd paid top dollar to get credible info on when their entire leadership would be in one place for 'inspections' and she'd be damned if she missed the opportunity. Her elbow dropped forcing a vent panel several rooms from her initial entry to do the same. With her bag in tow Bakuretsu promptly did the same. Hearing startled murmurs in the next room over she clicked her tongue. What the hell were they doing in the store rooms at the very back of the factory this late into the night. Whatever it was she wasn't planning to lose the element of surprise because of them. With a quick glance at her watch she lined out a rectangular area with her more precise breacher strip and slapped on a timer ensuring it'd go off at the exact same time as her second set charge of C4. Seeing the timer tick down out of the corner of her eye she tossed a canister of tear gas out the door and closed it just in case this offshoot was more competent than the last and got off their asses to check on shit. Soon enough she'd know exactly how good they were. Her grin widened. She couldn't wait. ------ Shō Matsui Rui Matsui

The scent of sweat, gunpowder and fire hung heavy in the air like an invisible curtain of tension drawn over the gathered crowd. To Retsu however it all smelled like a load of bullshit. No one here seemed to have even the slightest idea of what they were dealing with but with some luck Retsu herself would be far less ignorant by the time this was over. She'd expected the shipments to stop weeks ago but lo and behold a bunch of shit she didn't want making its way into her turf without passing through her hands was still getting there. It didn't take a genius to figure out that was hella worrisome. Because this wasn't anything new to her. The Akimichi family had been doing exactly the same thing. On the surface they'd owned a food processing plant and several distribution centers throughout the city. They'd bring fish in every day through their fleet over overnight fishing boats, pack it up and send it all out on the same day. The attached factory specializing in dough production sent out to a fuckton of bakeries, pizza places and other stores throughout Tokyo just widened their reach and made sure they'd be able to distribute whatever else their boats brought in all across the city. Of course, said factory was now out of action, the Akimichis weren't gonna be doing anything in the foreseeable future and the fronts handling the more legal stuff had all been gobbled up by bigger fish. Retsu had known something was amiss but figured she'd deal with things as they came and what d'ya know, that time seemed to be now. She'd been looking for a decent way to check things out so when the call came that someone was hiring mercs for a mission like this she'd jumped onto it without looking back. The fact that she'd have some ablative armor in the form of the people around her certainly helped the decision, even if she had to scoff when one of them said the plan would make everything go peachy. She hadn't worked with Firebrand before and couldn't say she was interested in doing so even now. It was perfect, really. She wouldn't hesitate to throw him under the bus. Provided the woman glaring daggers at her wasn't around instead, of course. LDG and her had clashed several times in the past and Retsu's rib throbbed in memory of where it'd been cracked during one such scuffle. If that one went down during this mission Retsu'd be sure to track whoever offed her to treat 'em to a drink. The one amongst them she was most worried about was the Gorillo Bandit. She couldn't be sure it was true but she'd heard things about him. Definitely not someone she'd be turning her back to, even if she was confident in holding her own against him in a fight. After all, she'd come loaded for bear. She hadn't been twiddling her thumbs in these past few weeks and more importantly she'd brought most of her arsenal with her. Oh, her shoulder would have one hell of a bruise by the time they were done but she'd be damned if her duffel bag didn't contain enough bombs to blow the entire ship up if need be. A gut feeling told her it might not be enough. She pushed it down, grit her teeth and walked over to the map. "Right, yeah, sure. How we doin' this?"

The sole silver lining was that the fire seemed far out, man. If they'd been closer she'd likely have been completely blind until the flashbang's effects faded. Not ideal in the middle of a combat situation, or any situation for that matter. Still, she thought as her right eye twinged, she'd had worse. Her lack of higher education prevented Retsu from knowing for sure whether it was possible to build up an immunity to sound and light but it sure felt like they weren't affecting her as much as they used to. Maybe it was just her imagination. Either way anyone that could explain it would have to seriously speak up at the moment for her to hear it and at that point, well, Bakiri had always been more of a practical learner. "You foohging-" She spat alongside a splatter of blood as she saw one of Junior's men - a dude coincidentally wearing sunglasses and headphones - dragged the near catatonic man away. The near catatonic man currently holding several grand worth of her stuff and screaming soundlessly. Well, soundlessly to her anyway. Forcing herself up, first to her hands and knees and then as upright as a ninety year old with a broken walker, she stumbled her way over to the table where she'd left her duffel bag. It certainly didn't help her balance that the strap attached to her airsoft rifle ensured it kept bumping into her side with every step she somewhat made. Unlike Junior however she did manage to bring her stuff to the table.
Spitting out the blood pooling in her mouth she wildly fired the remainder of her gun's magazine around in the hopes that the impacts would convince everyone standing up to stay down. Whatever choice they made, she had to scram or she was gonna get smoked. An analogy that certainly didn't come to mind because she'd dropped one of her similarly fated grenades next to to the table like the ball this situation had become. Whatever, she'd deal. Leaning over the table and only partially falling during the attempt she grabbed Junior's side of the transaction and shoved it into her duffel bag. Once she properly managed to get her feet under her again she'd be home free. Unless whoever they'd hired would be able to act without being hindered by the smoke and really, how likely was that? ------ Remaining explosives: 1 frag grenade and 1 smoke grenade Tags: Sebastian Sinclaire@bakiriretsu

He was mocking her. A vein popped on her forehead. He was fucking mocking her. One hand pushed her upright while the other reached into one of her pockets. She ran forward at the same time as she pulled the pin on her incendiary grenade. "Oho? Not packing enough heat for you, am I? Let's see how you handle thermite you prick!"
Putting her full strength behind the throw she lobbed it straight at his smug face, letting out a roar as she did. First the delays, then Junior's sad excuse for communication and now this guy's mockery? Retsu had absolutely had it. She was so livid she barely noticed a few of the people scrambling for cover raising their guns over whatever pathetic excuse for shelter they'd found. Nor did she notice Junior himself rushing towards the bin and claiming the very expensive combustible material she'd prepared for their trade. In fact, she was so furious she'd almost completely forgotten about the flashbang despite the fact that she'd only thrown it... exactly five seconds ago. "Ah shit."
With her own eloquent speech being the last thing she heard before her hearing went the way of the dodo and the ground decided to do a spontaneous meet and greet the worst part of her anger abated very suddenly, as if displaced by an unexpected impact. Much like her nose. The silver lining was that it was unlikely anyone else heard the crack either. Pawing clumsily at her face she managed to pull up her eye patch without continuing the facial reconstruction more than a few times. She managed to reveal her spinning surroundings just in time to expose her light-sensitive right eye to the fires released from a certain incendiary grenade. "Ah sphear ah'm gunna keehl everywun in zis fahkin' flace."

Coincidences happened every day. Thousands of them even, weaving a tapestry of happenstance through which everyone navigated their lives. Someone showing up in the middle of her already fishy meeting with a quirk that seemingly rendered him nearly immune to her main form of weaponry? Yeah, Retsu did not think this was one of them. "Junior you son of a goat herder!" She shouted while pulling out a flashbang and tossing it in the direction of the rapidly scattering goons. Not one of them tried to take so much as a shot at her. Bakuretsu belched out a laugh. Either Junior's people were particularly incompetent or he wasn't trusted to bring along anything remotely dangerous. That left whatever freak they'd brought along to ambush her."Ready or not, here I come!"Retsu yelled at the top of her lungs while rushing out of the alcove, throwing herself to the ground and firing round after round out of her airsoft gun at the white haired man.

In popular media illicit dealings always happened in dark alleys, bags or suitcases exchanged for wads of cash by either shifty looking folk, men in suits or a combination of the two. As cliche as such a thing was Retsu would've almost preferred a dark alley to this. Because seriously, who would decide to make a trade worth several grand happen in a giant skate park of all places? "Miss Bakiri! You know how things have been. Surely you could not blame us for this?" "The delays? Nah. What y'r tryna pull right here, Junior? Yah, ah think ah will."The sound of several guns being pulled out of wherever they'd been hidden echoed through the little alcove filled with picnic tables near the edge of the skate park they were in. Retsu had no idea how many of the guns were real and she had no intention of finding out. Luckily given the way they were looking at the modified airsoft assault rifle she was now holding with her finger near the trigger it was clear the other side felt the same. She let her now far emptier duffel bag drop atop the table in between them.
"Unless y'all wanna find out how many of y'all ah can fill with holes before dropping I'd point those things down."
The standoff continued for several long seconds before barrels started to be pointed down one by one. Retsu let out a snort before looking each of the gangster's subordinates in the eye one at a time. "Good. Don't fookin' try anything. Now then, Junior." She nodded to a bin to the side. "Stuff you ordered's in there. Given what you've brought in exchange y'll need to open it to take out half and leave the other half behind. Direct any fookin' complaints to the gun."
Her eye narrowed when she heard the sound of wheels drawing closer and closer. "Oh you pieces of-! Watch. This is how I deal with shit gettin' in my damned way."
Holding her rifle one handed she reached into her pocket with the other and pulled out a frag grenade. She pulled the pin out with her teeth and tossed it out of their little alcove and into the skating ring proper, maintaining eye contact with Junior all the while. ------ Remaining explosives: 1 flashbang, 1 frag grenade, 2 smoke grenades and 1 incendiary grenade. Looking over the now wavy pond with fish calmly floating atop the surface Retsu began to realize she'd made a mistake. There had been absolutely no consideration as to how she'd actually get the fish out of the water when she made the suggestion. For a moment she wondered whether she could offload the task to Lylyth. Seeing the winged woman in the middle of cutting up a boar with her bare hands quickly dissuaded her of that notion. She sighed. "Yah, I'll get 'em." Retsu replied while putting her jacket and pants on top of her bag while tossing her shoes and socks next to it. "Fire sounds good, don' reckon it'd be fun ta trudge all the way home in soggy clothes."Tying her shirt into a knot at the back to make sure it wouldn't drag her down she sprints through the first meter of the lake and leaps in fully once she's certain there's enough depth that she won't land flat on her face. She swam to where she tossed the first grenade, the motions coming easy despite the fact that she hadn't gone swimming in years. In fact, she hadn't been since before... It didn't matter.Mood rapidly souring she put a bit more force into her swings and squeezed the fish a bit harder. With a scowl she pulled a little on the bottom of her shirt and slid the fish through the opening one by one, a solid five fitting in between the textile and her stomach before she had to make her way to shore. Her mood certainly did not improve upon realizing she'd need to make at least two more trips at this rate. She dumped both first haul and then the remaining ones - that turned out to be three to her great displeasure - next to Lylyana's rock table before flopping down bonelessly on the ground. With a groan she reached behind her and untied the knot jamming into her lower back."Gimme a minute. On another note, d'ya have a phone?"------

With her hands on her knees Retsu burst out laughing when Lylyana asked her question. "Ah, ain't you a riot. Never mind that. You in?"Seeing the winged woman agree she shoved the frag grenade in her pocket and confidently kept pace, nodding along as she spoke. Her eye narrowed at the sight of the slain boar. That did not look like it was slain with any weapon other than the woman's own physiology. She had to consciously resist the urge to walk just a bit further away from Lylyana and instead made sure to stay right next to her the entire time. By the time they reached the lake she was starting to breathe heavier. She let out a satisfied sigh as she let the heavy bag drop from her shoulder onto the ground and raised her arms above her head to stretch."Neat place." Retsu agreed. "Come here often?"She looked a bit more closely at their surroundings. Plenty of privacy and a place to put down food but no cooking implements or signs of a fire anywhere. She'd have to ask about that later. It was possible that Lylyana stuck to a mostly plant-based diet that didn't require anything of the sort but given the stains atop and around the improvised table Retsu doubted it."So, the fishing." She continued. "Fish ain't good at taking blasts to the face. Just toss the 'nade into the water and they'll come floating to the surface, simple as."With a nod of her head in the direction of the lake she took the grenade out of her pocket, pulled the pin out with her teeth and tossed it into the water. She didn't bother to take cover and watched the geyser of water erupt with a wide smile on her face, letting the sound of the blast wash over her. Looking down at her bag near her feet she didn't feel like crouching to go through it and instead pulled another grenade out of one of her pockets, confident enough the woman wouldn't suddenly try to kill her to reveal that she had some on her person as well. With an underhand throw she passed it to Lylyana."Your turn, try to aim at a different spot or you'll blast the floaters to pieces." ------

Retsu's eye gleamed at the mention of an EMP grenade. Despite her bluster she was not entirely unaware of the current deficiencies within her arsenal. While she had plenty of means to take down -or at least slow- humans and supers alike, automated or remotely controlled technology had a tendency of making her life a lot harder. Not that she'd ran into many mind you but the few times she had were ones she remembered. And not fondly at that. Fragmentation grenades tended to do the job on anything organic but the concussive force behind them was rarely enough to even remotely damage steel plates or whatever else such a thing used as armor. Flashbangs were worse than useless, they were actively detrimental and gas grenades did little to hinder the ones that worked with heat vision, the most common way the few turrets or drones she'd encountered identified their targets. Her best bet thus far had been incendiary grenades to throw off their aim serving as a distraction at best or C4 that in turn required her to get within several meters of whatever was trying to kill her to be accurate enough to end it. Something which worked on turrets at the risk of her own life and was absolutely pointless on drones. Yes, she'd long figured out there were certain things she couldn't tangle with yet. The problem was that knowing what was wrong and being able to solve the problem were two very different things. With a solution she couldn't reach on her own -something she realizes subconsciously but refuses to acknowledge- in sight the last of her caution faded and made way for practicality. Despite the drones deactivating things looked much brighter to Retsu. Thinking it through for a second to see if she'd missed anything she shrugged and extended her hand. "An EMP Grenade ey, Facade? Count me in. As for the other stuff, if we're gonna be be going after anything fancy imma need something to ensure my face won't get plastered on all o' their security systems. But yeah, it's pretty late, ah'm sure we can talk deets later."
Already several ideas were running through Retsu's head. Even though her first impressions were negative she has few doubts left that this will be a productive partnership. ------ facade

Retsu nodded in approval seeing the woman's choice. It's not her own first choice but using it is still a blast. She chuckled at the small inside joke before raising her thumb. "Yah, like that."Seeing the flashbang land a little closer than she would've liked Retsu shrugged and crouched behind the nearest tree, covering her ears and closing her eye as she did. All in all it didn't do much but it was just enough to get that little bit of a high. The loud bang reverberated through the forest, dissipating through the wide area without leaving much ringing in her ears. Similarly the flash, while faintly visible even through her closed eyelids, did not have many reflective surfaces to bounce off and get into one's eyes. The moment both vanished and the sounds of the forest slowly became audible again Retsu let out a barking laugh."Ahahaha. Ain't that the stuff. Ah can just imagine one of those pricks gettin' caught in the blast. Aaaaaah."She exhaled with a manic look in her eyes and enjoyed the shiver running down her spine. Taking a moment to let the feeling settle she took a deep breath and cracked her neck. With a spring in her step she walked back to her bag, put everything but the frag grenade inside and lifted it back up to her shoulder. With a toss and a catch she let the frag balance on the tip of her index finger."Now, half the fun o' dese things is using them on something of course. Heard there's a lake somewhere nearby, you ever been grenade fishing? Dumb question, probably not ey? D'ya wanna? If so, lead the way."------

Despite the fact that her internal alarm bells should be blaring at her the closer the clearly powerful superhuman got Retsu didn't feel like she was in any danger.
"Pleasure." Retsu replied. "Huh, really? Sounds rough."
She shrugged. Even though she was sure the woman had a life behind her filled with twists, tragedy and turns Retsu was never one to care. Instead she slowly lowered her bag to the ground so as to not scare her and crouched down next to it before pulling out several grenades and laying them down in a neat row. Picking the first one back up -the very same one she'd been holding before- she turned her head to face Lylyth and began to explain.
"This baby here is a fragmentation grenade. Payload's set for short range usage and the inside's hollow with the kind of standard ball bearings you'd find in any hobby store glued to the inner circumference. As for using it, d'ya see this ring at the top here? Putting pressure on the lever here will letcha pull it right off so ya can properly toss the grenade. Once you've pulled the pin you've got exactly five seconds to get away from wherever it lands. Blast radius is about ten meters."
Putting the spherical grenade back down she picked one of the two nearly identical cylindrical ones laying next to each other up.
"Now if you're not interested in putting whoever you're using your arsenal on down that hard this one's a better option, 's called a stun grenade or flashbang. Now, usually these have huge holes on the side but mine are different. Usage is the same as the rest, hold lever and pull pin. A kid could do it. These holes here at the bottom and top are where the fun comes from. Light bright enough to blind you for a few seconds and leave afterimages dancing across y'r sight plus an extra dose of sound loud enough to deafen ya and fuck with y'r balance. How far ya need to be from these depends on where ya use it, either way, cover y'r eyes and ears, aye?"
With a grin she picked up the third one and held it next to the second to compare them.
"Reason mine've got holes at the bottom is it makes 'em look just like these. Tear gas grenades. Anything downwind of these is gonna have a hard time trying to breathe, see or stop coughing." She chuckled. "Toss a few of these and they won't be expecting the flashbangs. Not gonna explain how to use this one, Ah'm sure ya've got the gist by now."
Placing them both back on the ground she pointed at the final of the four.
"This one's... interesting. Made it recently but haven't gotten around to testing the effect yet. No clue whether it's safe or not."
With a groan she stood up and stretched before looking at Lylyth with an excited smile.
"So, any caught y'r eye, Lylyth? Ya can just pick whatever ya want and give 'em a try. Go fer it."

It wasn't every day that playing around with birdshot caused a giant, winged being to appear. She'd heard rumors of weird sightings in the forests near Tokyo of course but hadn't put much thought into them. Perhaps she should have.
Either way it was too late for that now. Her eye narrowed as she took in the woman standing before her or more importantly, her body language. The spread wings radiated threat but the way she held herself clearly showed it was tempered with a healthy dose of caution. Retsu would work with that. Realizing she was taking a bit too long to reply she quickly recalled what the woman had said. "A demon, huh?" Retsu smirked as an idea came to mind. Pulling another of her homemade grenades out of her bag she continued. "Ya can call me Bakuretsu, wanna toss some of these as well?"------ lylyth
