Mark would be counting out rounds as Marlene approached. He had heard soft footsteps behind but wasn't expecting her to remain in his blindspot nor pull from one of the same dated jokes he made the last time they met. Or did he think it and not say it aloud? Either way, the parallels were unsettling, so as he turned around he'd have a frown on his face. "You know, saying things like that makes me question my own decision making," holding up one of the fatter rounds as he pointed it at her. "Not funny, dishonor on your cow." He slide the round into a cylinder he was holding, taking a step to the side as he indicated the table. "I'm going to start you off today with .22. The cartridge in question," he picks up a small bullet, tossing it her way, "is that. Not a lot of stopping power, but when it comes to pistols it's a good introduction round. Not very loud, not a lot of recoil." He turned around, setting the cylinder down and sliding the smaller revolver down the table for Marlene. "Be careful with this. Belonged to my grandfather, and I've had to repair it a few times. Break action, holds seven. What are the four main rules when it comes to gun safety?" It was a surprise question, but he needed to know if she remembered the tenants. Marlene Lovechild

Lone Wolf took a step to his right, the blades passing just past his cheek. He raised an eyebrow as actual knives weren't expected, but that was on him. He told the boy not to hold back, and that counted. At the very least he had his own justification for not holding back. Well, not totally. If he went as hard as he could then things could get dicey. Regardless, he drew a bead on Elijah and fired several more times, following his every movement. While Mark knew how to brawl, it was heavily unrefined, hence the heavy focus on gunplay. Though... "You know, if this were a real situation you'd probably be swiss cheese right about now. Dontcha got something to level the playing field? I mean, I know some kids can dodge real bullets, turn themselves into stone or something along those lines to outright negate guns, and it's probably the best thing in the world as the most tragic thing to hear about is some punk with a gun getting the best of you dumbasses. How do you intend to deal with 'em?" In the process, he'd be working his way around and away from Elijah as best as possible to keep him beyond arms reach. Though there was only so long he could keep up with this... Elijah

Dante was going to Dante. Him walking out the door prompted an eyeroll out of Mark as he moved to follow. The bikers were starting to get a little rowdy, so maybe it was for the best; if they were getting riled up because of the two of them then in taking it outside then it meant nothing inside would get smashed up. That was always a plus. As Dante spilled his lament out to Mark the older man would shove his hands in his packet pockets, listening. Of course, he couldn't help but quip: "They're cheering because they're drunk and you're putting on a show. Gotta remember, most people are stupid and don't bother thinking things through. Top it off you're an amateur, so unless some label catches wind..." At the passing of the object he held up a hand to catch whatever it was that Dante had thrown. He would have looked immediately, but that was when the doors burst open and took his attention. Between the outburst and the general shape and feel of the object in his hand, Mark easily pieced things together. And boy, was he unhappy. "Dante, you colossal asshole!" With one hard throw he'd send the wallet straight at the ringleader's face, fully intent on stunning him for at least half a second so he could get a running head start chasing after the delinquent, intent on sliding over the hood to get into the passenger seat. "One time, can I get one time where you take me out somewhere and not cause a damn riot?!" Dante

He couldn't help but laugh at the assistant comment, shaking his head a little. He never went to college or went into any kind of apprenticeship, at least what a 'normal' person might have gone through, so as he stepped into the space he couldn't help but let out a whistle. "Color me impressed," he says as he steps through the door, pausing to take it all in. "So this is where the magic happens. Well, in a metaphorical sense," he says, waving a hand as he approaches a bench, setting his bag down and unzipping the top. "We'll need some kind of bucket, and water. We'll do a real low-effort method to clean them up after we do a round of inspection. Truthfully, there's a lot of different ways to go about the process, but I'm used to doing this kinda thing from the trunk of my car, or from some motel in the middle of nowhere. If I ain't too distracted." Pulling out a smaller mesh bag filled with spent casings, he'd reach in and pull one out to hold it up to the light. "Black powder might not be the charge of choice anymore, but the 'smokeless' stuff still leaves things dirty. These things basically contain a small explosion, and we gotta make sure there's no defects before and after washing." Once the bucket was there he'd toss the first casing in, pulling out a second. "See, like this. This one right here looks like blew out the primer and cracked the bottom of this thing, see?" He tilted the casing so that Tabitha could see, pointing out the obvious crack. "Only thing this is good for anymore is scrap. Fortunately, recycling these things nets a nice little penny." He threw it back onto the workbench, setting the bag between them so they could sort through them. "Here, with two of us inspectin' shouldn't take time at all!" Tabitha Yamamura

"That ought to be useful, if we can figure out what traps are inside." He shifts in place, taking a tentative step forward. "I can give life to origami creatures. It's super useful in a situation like this, but it's also the reason why I didn't flat out walk in right away. It's like a video game where-""Gooooood morning, campers!" The loudspeakers in the building came to life, shocking the other student. "You have made it this far, but don't drop your guard yet! Thankfully for you, the school has banned all use of trap doors that lead you to the bottom floors, because they told me I got a little too enthusiastic with my 'floor of death'. So instead, have some fun with the lovely slaughter-naughts and murder-golems I managed to strategically transfer from one of the other courses. Enjoy!" The other student just sighed, shaking his head as he began to move, taking out what looked like a few pre-made birds from a pouch. Sure enough, from a side room to their right would be a few (poorly) dressed up robots, beginning to move towards their intended targets. "Man's a lunatic, I swear. Let's go, we need to find the stairs as soon as possible!"Farrin

He couldn't help but smile at being able to catch her off-guard like that. Remembering what she said about the "ghosts", he'd think it'd be a weird thing that he'd succeed twice in a row with that. Either way, he'd take the bag off his shoulder, holding it up. "I dunno about you, but I'm a better learning having someone walk me through something. If you want, we can head back and I can show you how it's done over step-by-step processes. There's a couple of different methods I've learned, but I do what's easiest for me since, well, I've spent more time on the road than having a dedicated shop for it." He'd shrug, looking about the room. "Unless your workshop is some kinda sacred shrine and it'd be better for lesser mortals to not walk on. Which if that were the case I wouldn't be offended, and can give you a step by step here."Tabitha Yamamura

"See? Always right," he says, shrugging as he takes the Carry from it's holster, beginning to spin it like one would see in some of those old cowboy movies. "Well, I have reason to believe you're holding back when it comes to your assignments. And I don't mean the ones that involve bookwork because reading is lame and for nerds."He'd get off of her perch, beginning to move around to the other side of the chair. "The short of it is, I want us to have a spar. One non-quirker to another. I wanna see everything you can do. And I mean everything." He looked over at Elijah, giving him a pointed look. "No holding back, on anything. Got it? You better, because spar starts now." And without dropping a beat he'd kick the lawn decor his way, raising his gun up and prepared to pepper Elijah with a few well-placed paint rounds if he didn't get out of the way fast enough. C'mon, kid, show me what you got.Elijah

Mark had made a lot of bad decisions in his life. Moving to Japan, "adopting" Dante, stealing his little brother's lunch money when they were kids and blaming it on Dad. This one was far up there on his list, and unfortunately for him this was one of those decisions he could very easily live long enough to regret. The field Mark had selected today's training was something that most students used to gauge ranges on their quirks. It was mostly dirt, long, flat, and near the end there were a few large mounts of dirt in order to catch projectiles. There were even a few meter ranges that they could use to best judge distance. Of course, no one hardly used it and Mark had commandeered a corner for his own training purposes, and it was also one of the few times he had to share it with anyone else. All because Marlene wanted to learn how to shoot. It was a bad idea. A very bad idea. In fact he didn't want to do it, but then he might get in trouble for being the only expert on campus and then someone got hurt because he wasn't there to supervise, blah blah blah. Either way, he was going to start out small and explain the basics once again to Marlene once she got there. On a folding table he would have several boxes of ammunition, and three different guns. Two would be familiar as they were the ones he kept on his person at all times, the usual Carry and the ever elusive Wayward Son. Along with them would be an unfamiliar, smaller revolver laying on top of the table, along with safety glasses and ear muffs. Marlene Lovechild

Despite being as abrasive as possible, she was still more than willing to learn. It didn't bode well, but then again that was the one thing he didn't like about hero students. Namely, all the good ones. Set a challenge, tell them that they won't or shouldn't do it, and instead of backing down they rise to the occasion. The cherry on top was Marlene, despite running on springs and Duracell, carried a similar mentality to her meatbag cohorts. Guess stupidity isn't just a human trait anymore."Ground Delta has some good sightlines that we can use as a makeshift range. Be out there by four thirty tomorrow." He'd reach over to pick up his hat, ready to walk out the door. "All you need is your body."Marlene Lovechild

Ah, yes. This was something that looked familiar. A person that did not want to use their quirk. Well, okay, Mark less didn't want to use his quirk, and more wanted people to underestimate him by thinking he didn't have a quirk. The former was because in a combat situation his quirk wasn't suited well, and if it came down to it in order to find out some sort of information he'd need some kind of support. That, and it was just much funnier to make an opponent think he was quirkless. What was he doing again? Oh right, Elijah. Didn't know much about him, an alright student. But he had a quirk, claimed he didn't have a quirk, and then didn't use it. He had watched Elijah for a time, and it didn't make much sense to Mar. It couldn't be a similar situation. He was pretty sure. Maybe? Either way, he had called Elijah out in order to do a private session. Nothing to do with awareness, or being mindful of ambushes and the like. Assuming Eli was as paranoid as most of the student body, he'd probably be even more paranoid once he found the teacher sitting on a lawn chair in the middle of the road eating an apple like those assholes from the moves. Ominous. Though once Eli came into picture Mark would throw the half-eaten thing to the side, dusting his hands off. "Ah, there you are!" He'd get up from the flimsy excuse for décor and set one of his feet on the seat, looking at the student. "I know what you're thinking. 'Why the hell am I here? Did I do something wrong?' And the answer to that is no. Assuming that was your question, which is was because as rule one in my classroom states, I'm always right."Elijah

Mark would nod as she repeated back all the relevant information, satisfied. Granted, he'd have to test her on this knowledge in the future, but he had more faith in Marlene than he did most other students. He assumed it had to do with writing this directly to the harddrive for future use, but he had offended her once and he wasn't going to bring that particular fact up. "The last thing you need to know goes hand in hand with what I normally teach." He pulled a bullet from a pocket, a larger round than what could be chambered in the Carry. "What most media teaches you about cover and ballistics is bullshit, at least ninety percent of it. This here is a solid chunk of lead that can punch through a man and turn his insides to gelatin, creating a softball-sized hole in his back. But just because you've dusted your target doesn't mean that this thing stops moving." He'd offer the round to her, looking her straight in the eye. "Know what your target is. Know what your target is behind, know what is behind your target. The second you pull that trigger, the likelihood of you ruining someone's day is above zero. It could be the bad guy, a cactus, or someone's grandma. Neutralizing the threat is one thing, but something that hero society doesn't like to advertise is collateral damage."He'd pause, pressing his lips together before continuing. "The moment you decide to fire, you need to be sure no one you want hurt gets hurt. If you want to continue on this path, then we can begin training proper tomorrow."Marlene Lovechild

It had been almost a week since he placed his order. He almost forgot about it, too, when after a brief altercation at a bar that he wished he could carry his sawed off. It didn't take long for him to put two and two together, and in his haze he remembered the creepy shop lady and figured it would be a good idea to pay a visit. With him he'd bring as many old three-eighty cases as he could manage. He held onto what he could so that he could send them back to his normal dealer for reuse and recycling, but having the ability to get rock salt rounds would be worth making them angry. At least this would give him the excuse to go to the range more frequently. He'd show up, eyes warily regarding that doll on the shelf again as he approached the counter. "Howdy, Spook," he says, setting an arm on the countertop. "Figured I'd bring by some old casings for you to use, show you how to clean them and all that. It's a pain to do, but cheaper to reuse in the longrun."Tabitha Yamamura

The change in posture didn't go unnoticed by Mark, but as offended as she might be it was something that needed to be said. "I'm glad it's setting in. Maybe you can give another one of my students pointers on how to listen." He shook his head, thinking about his first interaction with Dante. The poor, misguided child. "Third thing you need to keep in mind: never keep your finger on the trigger." He hefted the gun once again in his hand, turning to show a side view while also keeping the muzzle angled down at the ground and towards a desk, away from the two of them. "That might sound counter intuitive, especially since most guns come with a safety, but that's a whole can of worms for another day. It's much easier to keep your finger pressed against the side like this over keeping it in the trigger guard. Most triggers have a pull weight of about seven pounds, but this can be modified to be less or more. You don't want too much weight on your triggers else it might affect your accuracy, but too little and you'll have something called a hair trigger. The tiniest of taps will fire the gun, and you never want to be in a situation where you have an accidental discharge because you kept your booger picker on the trigger." He moved to holster the gun, looking at her. "All three of these rules are incredibly important, but that last one in particular, at least to me, is the most vital. You can have a gun loaded and pointed at me all day long, and while I may sweat I won't be worried until I see that finger on the trigger. You never want to keep anything on it unless you're ready to fire." Marlene Lovechild
