All Along the Watchtower

Mark was the son of a minor hero in the United States, the infamous quirkless gunslinger named Nobody. A US Marine in a previous life, his work forced Mark and his younger brother Sean to move frequently across the country. Not having the best of childhoods, he was forced to learn the tips of the trade from his father while also doing his best to shield Sean, though with limited success. Upon turning 18 he hotwired the Cadillac one faithful night and the two sailed away in the night.

Highway Star

Despite the minor petty crime, Mark proved to a hero agency based in Oklahoma that he was useful; while his quirk was not flashy, he quickly made a name for himself solving missing person cases, at least the more recent cases. With a six shooter at his side, he was deputized and pushed through a hero course as quickly as possible, gaining his license and the capability of operating throughout the Midwest. His brother, a psychic quirk user, did everything in his power to follow in Mark's footsteps, but his abilities were much more dangerous. Each time he made an effort to practice on an opponent, he caused aneurisms and, in one case, the death of a villain. Despite getting off with light charges, it was clear there was a divide in their abilities; Sean did everything in his power to catch up, but each effort he made only seemed to make the gap more apparent, and worse. Despite Mark trying his best to help him, the fracture was too great, and an encounter with Nobody cause the familial drift to widen between all three of them even more, causing Sean to kill his father and forced Mark's hand to bring him in.

Wanted Dead or Alive

Mark's quest for Sean had begun in earnest, forcing him for the next few years to travel around the country hot on his brother's heels. Each place he went he would always get stopped by solving a few cases, but never yielding in his search. There would be some incidents he was able to use his quirk and pinpoint where Sean was, and others where the window had closed and he had to use standard efforts and preexisting patterns to find him. It was something that Mark didn't want to do, but it was a responsibility that he had to do.

Long, Long Way From Home

Numerous times did Mark get the opportunity to close in for the kill, but each time Sean managed to slip away, leaving behind enough damage to tie Mark up. It would be the most recent encounter that would put Mark in the hospital for a week, forcing him to stop in his dogged pursuit and recover. Despite this he continued work, and caught a few tips that Sean had finally left the country. Where? Hell if he knew. But there was one place where he thought he might be able to pick up the trail again...maybe. UA had some of the best facilities known to man, as well as a thriving hero culture he could exploit. The catch? No one liked a hero that used guns. So, he decided on the next best thing: becoming a teacher. Which he instantly regretted. But at the very least, he had an annoying tag along that he could torture on the day to day, so there was that.
