Damn, this girl had a good habit of pushing all the right buttons. It was almost like he was looking in a mirror. Her flirtations were enough that he wanted to abandon his current job and get her back to his place pronto. Unfortunately, if there was one thing he prided himself on, it was his professionalism. Which he had promptly thrown away the moment he saw her walk in. God, why did he have to be in such a precarious position? That said, the moment she leaned in and asked him if he was armed, he tensed up. "What are you planning Koko- wait!" he reached over to try and stop her from getting up and talking with the suspect, but he was a tad too late. She was up and confronting him. He let out a sigh, taking a sip of beer. Alright, this is not how I intended things to go. How do I handle this? The moment he decided to step into this bar he had shot himself in the foot. He wasn't here to make an arrest, or even directly gather intel. His presence put a huge wrench into this investigation, and to make matters worse when Iphi found out she'd rake him over the coals. For now, though, he had to keep Kokoro from doing something stupid. Her questions did pique his curiosity, and he slowly let his hand rest against his hip. The Carry was comfortably holstered, and he was waiting to see what happened. Sieve stopped, turning to look at Kokoro. That dead expression he had slowly began to smolder, his face barely changing. "Those are quite a lot of questions. And your manner is incredibly rude. I'd leave if I were you."Kokoro

Mark looked into his bag as he left Ryota and Kenta to their bout. Three more bombs. That'd have to do. He set up a bunch in all the other storefronts, and one in a mailbox. He wasn't here to win or loose, just to cause chaos. As such, fighting was not going to get him anywhere in any way. Taking another swig from the flask, he made his way to a section of buildings in order to do what he set out to do. It'd probably take him the rest of the exercise, and hopefully everyone else was making some level of progress so he could provide the coup de grace. Or at the very least, cause the heroes a lot of stress in the end. Muruyama Kenta, Ryota Hada

Mark reloaded his gun, namely by hitting the mag release with his thumb, letting the spent magazine hit the table, flipping the gun upside down while using two fingers to grab another magazine, flip it into the air and land it in the gun, tap it against the table and sending the slide forward. "I can," he says, bringing it up and letting loose on a target downrange. "But considering you've never held a gun before in your life, I ain't about to put a pea shooter in your hand and let you loose. We're going over safety first." With his own practice over, he ejected the last magazine and set the gun down. "Considering you want this, what are the four basic rules to gun safety?" They were pretty easy to learn, but there were a lot of ignorant people who didn't know anything about guns or how to properly use them. He had to establish this first before anything important could be taught. Yanai Yoko

"A lot easier," he says, looking at their drinks as they came. He reaches for his bottle, tilting it up to take a swig, but Kokoro would no doubt catch on to the act he just put on. A little bit of alcohol wouldn't kill him, but he had to be careful. Too much and it could impair his ability to shoot. He smirked at her tease, listening to her reasoning to be here. She was looking for someone. Who, he didn't know, but he knew enough about her that he understood the signs. It was a question that plagued him since that night they had together: who was she, exactly? He wasn't forthcoming with information, either, but it was odd to find a fellow nomad and one that had a drive to boot. Which made him hesitate at the question as he took a real sip from his bottle. There was a lot he liked about Kokoro, but if there was one thing about this situation that he dreaded it was the "what if" in the event he had to bring her in. "Makes two of us when it comes to business," he says, glancing at someone with a giant claw arm near the back of the room. He was dodging the question, making time. Did he dig into her? There was no way she was connected to the man he was investigating, and in using it he'd be violating her privacy- The door opened, and a wiry man walked through. He was a lot shorter than Mark expected, but this was the guy: Sieve. Slicked back hair, average build, and two beady eyes that seemed unfocused and distant. He came through the front door, which told Mark he was unconcerned who saw him come and go. This place was familiar to him. Not enough to draw conclusions, though. "If there was one place in the world you would want to go, strictly for fun, where would it be?" It was more beating around the bush, but Mark was now in a precarious situation. He was pretty sure the bartender was listening in on them, and he wasn't exactly acting the most natural. Kokoro

Once the drinks had been traded Mark took a big gulp of liquor and made a face. <"God, I don't ask much, why couldn't you have put that woman fifty miles in pick a direction away from me?"> he says in plain English, Midwestern accent coming through and a little too loud. Wiping his face he lets out a sigh, looking over at Ryota. "I've had the pleasure of working with Penny once, and it took every ounce of will to not go crazy. How do you put up with it on the regular?" He shook his head, walking at Ryota's pace as he looked around the party. "Sorry for dragging you out of there, I needed an excuse to get away. I can deal with people, but lately it's been harder than I'd like." Mark stops next to a wall, looking back at the bar and then at Ryota. "I would tell you, but to be honest I don't read the beer labels. Ever. I can, but I like to be surprised. Well, some of the time, I like being surprised." There were some surprises he was not prepared for. "Anyways, I've got nothing. For the drive. Unless you wanna come into one of my classes and prey on their souless, dead eyes after I throw them through No Man's Land for the thousandth time. I get the impression it's not a fun exercise. For them, at least." Ryota Hada

He smiled back at her, her reaction seeming to be genuine at his presence. There was a part of his brain that screamed that this spelt trouble for the foreseeable future, but then again every time he got entangled with a woman that was what he got regardless. This time though it seemed to be potentially even more than normal due to the circumstances. Something that he would have to address soon, but one thing at a time. The phone that he found thrust in his direction was a surprise, but he took it and opened it up. "Sure thing, would love to do that!" He'd work on adding his contacts into her number, tilting his body to face her more but also so he could begin scanning the room. There were definitely some shady types around here, but not the one he was looking for. Maybe a few were associates? And then there was the issue of his real name being used. That was going to be a problem in the long run... "I don't often come to places like this," he says, sending himself a text from her phone before handing it back. "What brings you in here? I wouldn't expect a place like that to be your speed." A loaded question, a buildup to something bigger. But he had stupidly run straight into trouble, and now he had to tread water. That included keeping his head up. Kokoro

A little notepad had various doodles and points he could look back on when he got back to his office, but when he looked up and saw a familiar face he couldn't help but pause. He hadn't seen Kokoro since that night, and while he wanted to get back in contact with her he couldn't bring himself to do it. Now that he saw her again, he couldn't help but wonder: what was she doing here? And what was with the swords? As she went in he looked around. There weren't that many people around, but that didn't mean he wouldn't be observed. Taking a breath, he made sure his guns were on him and out of sight, put his notepad in his jacket, locked up his car and went to follow her inside. Worst case scenario, she was involved in this in some way...which would suck, but love did that. Not that he knew what love was. The inside was smoky and foul smelling, but this wasn't the first bar Mark had been do that had those characteristics. In truth, he should have been professional and stayed in the car, but he couldn't help himself. Doing a brief scan he noted where Kokoro went, and inviting himself next to her at the bar he held up his hand at the tender as he got her order. "Beer for me, whatever ya recommend. I'll cover for the lady, too." He looked over at her, winking. "Fancy meeting you here."Kokoro

There was a need to break the monotony of coursework and simulations. Mark had let himself slip into a routine, and he was not about that life. So he did the only logical thing he could do: discretely raid Iphi's current cases, and insert himself into one of them once again. Granted, it wasn't hard to do, all he needed was find something she interacted with and he could easily skim through some of the information as it passed across his eyes. And, amazingly, he found something that required little effort. It was suspected a wanted criminal was using a place of business in Kyoto as a base of operations. Granted, there were a few locations that was suspected, but the most likely was a bar on a quiet street. All sorts of seedy things were suspected of going on in there, but there was not enough probable cause to gain a warrant. The criminal in question was a suspect in at least three murders, all of them involving vigilantes, which begged the question: was this guy a bounty hunter of some kind? Assassin? Not a lot was known, except this guy had an awful temper. He had been arrested a while back for assault and battery, but nothing beyond that. If he was the perp, then it was likely he was dangerous. So Mark did what Mark usually does when he doesn't have a lot of information: he stakes out the location in question. He parked his car in a spot to give him the best vantage point, seeing at least two sides without exposing where he was. He couldn't see the back, but this place was legit. Likely this suspect would use the front door. All he had to do was wait. Kokoro

This was the third time. Mark didn't get it. Sure, he had a small collection of firearms, one or two that weren't exactly legal within Japan. Sure, he was an expert marksman with just a revolver. Sure, he was a stickler for gun safety. But why were hero students of all things wanting to learn how to shoot guns? Didn't they come here to learn how to use their quirks? How to jump good? Truth, justice and the American way all that other stuff? Don't these fools know that a gun is one of the best ways to ruin someone's day? He let out a sigh as he finished setting up his makeshift range, with targets going out to three meters, ten meters, and fifteen meters. His folding table had a series of protection equipment, a few different calibers of bullets, and a revolver lying on the table. He himself would have a pair of aviators on, The Carry in one hand as he sighted in at the farthest target. Each pull of the trigger a splat of paint would hit it, leaving a large mess on the left side of the target. Once empty he'd hit the magazine release, flip the gun upside down, and begin to reload with a single hand. It was not the most efficient way to reload, but if his other arm was incapacitated this would be the only way he could reload. This all was in preparation for the new training session with Yoko. Who had a little bit of an attitude problem. At the very least, Mark could sass off and not get in trouble. Yanai Yoko

Mark had to give Elijah credit, he researched the topic. At the rate he was going, he'd have to ask the school to create a small course on firearms. That was a problem for another day, though. Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a revolver and setting it on the table. "You missed an important one," Mark says, removing a box of ammunition. "Until you're ready to fire, keep your booger hook off the trigger. Even if you're following all the other rules, if you don't follow that one a sneeze or something could create an accidental discharge. Beyond that, you get a pass. For now." While he talked he had pulled out protection gear: ear plugs, goggles, and ear muffs. It was overkill with what he had, but it was best to instill good habits early. "We're working with a small caliber today. .22 long rifle," he says, tossing a small bullet Elijah's way. "Hardly any stopping power, but it's not called the 'assassin's bullet' for nothing. Low recoil, and theoretically any ricochets won't be lethal. But we're not here to have fun, we're here to learn the basics. And included with the basics are understanding proper safety steps and what to do. You be nice to this gun, it's older than both of us put together."Elijah

Peter, Paul, and Mary, how in the world did he become a magnet to all these people? At the very least Mai and Kaz could talk amongst themselves as that conversation didn't involve him too intently, but Ryota and company? Yeah...yeah he was stuck. The fake smile he gave Ryota was enough to convey that. "That. Is not how you drink Jim Bean," Mark says, making an assumption on the brand of the bottle he was holding. "How 'bout we trade? I feel like I need something a little heavier with one of your associates here," he says, indicating Penny. The flirting she was doing was not lost on him, and he decided to really throw a wrench into her plans. "I know it's none of my business, but I had a few ideas for a drive you can do. How 'bout we walk and talk?"He stood up, getting right in between Penny and Ryota as well as flashing a wink at Stellar. "Won't be more than ten minutes, promise." Penny ✾, Stellar, Ryota Hada,

This was a special kind of hell. The one that God specifically built for a certain kind of sinner. The only problem was, he wasn't sure what exactly he had done to end up in a place like this. He'd go to a priest, but he wasn't Catholic nor did he know where a priest would be. "I'm not nearly drunk enough for this," he mutters. "Stellar," he says, not quite sure what her real name was. Was that her name? It was weird if it was. "This here's my girlfriend, Penny. We're on a break, though. Apparently winning a bet fair and square put me in the dog house." He gave Stellar an apologetic smile, hoping to kill two birds with one stone: make it seem like he and Penny were meeting up to try and work something out, and make Penny angry enough to make her storm off. Unfortunately, when he was in similar positions with women in the past all he had to do was pretend to be on both of their sides to earn him the cold shoulder. Now that he was trying to get some alone time he wasn't sure how well his tactic would work. Penny ✾, Stellar,

"You know, if you told me you were going to flash me, I would have misinterpreted and be caught with my pants down!" Innuendo's aside, the moment she started shooting he got down. Thankfully, between the angle and where she was shooting, the rounds weren't hitting him. That said, the amount of pucker in this particular instant was not fun in the slightest. All in all, worst gunfight he had ever been in. He fired a few shots at the corner in response, but the best he was going to do was give her a minor case of static shock; the rounds discharged as they hit the brick, most of their payload going into the air instead of into Retsu. The sound of a new grenade also scared the pants off of him, and the best he was going to be able to do is find some level of cover behind a dumpster. The good news was the concussive force wouldn't be enough to take him out; the bad news was, that wasn't the dangerous part of a frag grenade. Regardless, there was nothing he could do to chase after Retsu. Changing out mags, he waited to listen in on what she was doing, and hearing nothing he grabbed a piece of trash and threw it out into the open. Not seeing it get obliterated he slowly rounded the corner of his makeshift corner, limping as he was peppered with a few more bits of fragmentation; he wasn't directly on top of the blast, but the metal was still flying at speed. He thought he heard her running, but that might just be his imagination. After doing a quick sweep of the area, though, he found that she had vacated the premises, and with sirens closing in he took the opportunity to slump against the wall. On one hand, he failed his main objective, which was to bring Retsu in. But in this failure, he learned a few things. Something he could pass on to other heroes. Maybe some good could come of this in the future. Bakiri Retsu,

Mark couldn't help but feel like this party was a trap, but it wouldn't be the first time he felt that way. He didn't need to do much to get dressed up, and his getup would no doubt frustrate a few people. While it wasn't a big habit, he did have a cowboy hat; it was just this particular party he threw on a cheap holster, shoved a toy pop gun in there, found a big buckle and some snazzy boots, and called it a day. He had, mostly, gotten over what happened with Dreamworld. The question still stuck with him, but at least he was taking a little better care of himself. That said, he really needed a beer. Setting his hat on the counter, he got himself a bottle and decided to take the night to relax. Relaxing, and not talking with anyone. The latter he didn't think he'd get out of, but if he could avoid talking with Penny, or even Stellar, he could be golden.

Dreamworld had put a serious hamper on Mark and his ability to focus. Family had a way of doing that to him, but there was wallowing in guilt and self pity, and then there was putting one foot in front of the other. He was in no means in the right headspace, which is probably how he ended up agreeing to this little venture. He showed up to the grounds with a shooting bag over his shoulder, a flask with cold coffee in it in one hand as he watched Eli take out the targets. "Ya got a good throwing arm. Sure you want to learn this stuff?" He moved over to a point not far away from the targets, bringing his bag down and picking up the collapsible table he brought with him, beginning to set it up. This wasn't like training Marlene, who took all information in and put it into practice immediately. With her he just had to teach her the concepts and ideas; he didn't know what it would be like with Eli. "Tell me what you know of gun safety. You fail, and you get the little pop gun I brought." Elijah
