With their rocket boots rocketing them forward Khepri hit the door like a battering ram trapping the innocent gun barrel in between the crack. Ducking below the flashes of gunfire still coming out of it while they opened the door once more they briefly struggled with the mechanical contraption atop which the gun was mounted, bullets flying in all directions as they did. Stepping past the gun that was now firing diagonally into the ground and sending ricocheting bullets all over the place Khepri entered into the building. It was most definitely a building. Four walls, a door, several windows one couldn't see through. Yup, a building for sure. On the outside at least, for the inside was almost completely empty. No furniture other than a single chair in the corner, no stairs leading to the empty space where more floors should have been and no occupants other than one guy atop said chair eating a sandwich. "Uh, you're not supposed to be back here...""There was a door over there," Khepri replied while pointing back where they came from, a movement in the corner of their eye drawing their attention. "Mafdet-bot! You made it! Go scout ahead and call me if you find anything. Oh and thin the competition while you're add it!" They added innocently as an afterthought. Opening their inventory they pressed the button that had the six pack of soda and tore open the packaging. Taking out one of the cans they looked over to the uncertain maintenance worker. "Do you want one too?""S-sure..."Throwing a can over and grabbing for themself Khepri would make sure everyone in the room was offered a can before they cracked one open for themself, humming along offtune to the dwindling sound of gunfire as they drank.
TL;DR: -Khepri makes it through the door, sending bullets flying every which way as they force themselves through the opening occupied by the machine holding the gun in place. -Orders the Robo-cat to scout ahead and thin the competition (in a friendly, healthy competitive way of course) -Opens the Six pack of soda and gives a can to the NPC before taking one for themself and offering one to each of the other people that may or may not have made it into the same building. ------ Tags: Mafdet Khepri CHIRP ♪♪ Taro Yamada smileyj

"Aww not again." Khepri whined while dropping a fourth broken spoon on the table. Their eyes narrowed into a squinting glare. That bowl of soup wouldn't keep besting them. Reaching into the open drawer next to them their nails scratched across hardened plastic. "Hmm?"
Welp, they were officially out of spoons. How could they possibly fix this? Their eyes gleamed. A riddle! How can the soup be eaten, the spoon shortage be fixed and the evidence be hidden before Hogo got mad at them? With a waggling tail they stood up. It was time for another adventure! --- "Happy Chugen, senior!" Khepri cheerily said while dropping more than almost a dozen 'gifts' on the table, both their current batch and the one from back when they tried to dig through the wall. For several long, awkward moments they maintained eye contact with Masao without blinking. "Well? Do you think you can fix any of them?"

"I have salt somewhere I think." Khepri replied to Jun with a hint of uncertainty in their tone. The label said something else but it looked like salt so Khepri figured it just might be salt. "I think there's water in the cooler as well, we can make one into saltwater fish."The catbug had never heard of that recipe but it didn't sound too difficult judging by the description. Turning to the fellow white-haired person that just joined the gathering Khepri continued chattering away. "Hiya! I like your hair color. Oh, we can trade food. These are tilapia!" They explained while stabbing a morsel on Kenta's plate with one of their sharp nails and promptly plopping it into their mouth. Next on the list was Momo who they greeted with a nod as well. "Oh those look great, wanna trade? Do you have any pain au chocolat? My friend from England says I'm a little like those but without the chocolate."Turning their head to face the next speaker Khepri nodded along to Ylva's words. Finally someone who understood! "I have that too. I often try to find quiet spots too but they're always faster than me!"It took Khepri a moment to realize who Ylva was speaking to but the moment they did one of their arms went up and they started waving. "Hey! Hoga, over here! Just a moment everyone I need to go get a roomie I'll be right back."With a skip in their step Khepri marched over to Akaiken, passing not one but two disastrous encounters along the way. Ignoring the person rushing by with a fire extinguisher they focused on the other group, nodding to themself as they did. Khepri had no idea people in Japan introduced themselves that way. They'd definitely be giving it a try later. "Come on, I'll introduce you to those people!" Khepri excitedly told Akaiken, completely ignoring the fact that the catbug didn't know all of them either. Depending on whether Akaiken would let them or not Khepri would either drag them to the group by the arm or keep waving and pointing until she came along. If the girl didn't follow Khepri would just raise her voice high enough that she could hear them regardless of where she went. "I'm back!" Khepri shouted while barging back into the group. Looking over their shoulder they pointed at each person still here in turn. "This one is I-don't-know-their-name, this other one is I-don't-know-their-name, that one is I sit close to in class and it's on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember either right now. The one over there I think I've seen on TV but I'm not sure." Turning their head back to the group they finally remembered the thing they felt like they were forgetting to do this entire time. "Oh yeah, my name's Khepri! Hi everyone! Does anyone want a Tilapia?"------ Tags: Ylva Riis Freja Helt Zipper junsuina Exchange Aimoto Momo akaiken Muruyama Kenta Kaida Ikarashi

A bell gave off a soft ring when Khepri pushed open the door. Realizing they were trying to be sneaky they quickly took it off their collar and left it by the entrance. It didn't match the rest of their outfit anyway. To make sure their identity was protected they were wearing their open-faced Vulture mask and their 'Sphinx' costume. It had been a while since they'd worn it. The last time they remembered doing so was back in Egypt. A baggy sleeveless croptop in white that ended just above their midriff and a toga-like skirt of the same color served as Khepri's main articles of clothing but were far from the only things they were wearing for a plethora of jewelry adorned them as well. An Egyptian collar necklace covered in beads matched the two armbands on their upper arms. Extending down from both of the armbands were several long feathers reaching almost all the way to the pair of gold and cloth vambraces covering their forearms and the back of their wrists. It was enough gold to beggar the average person and yet it was far from all they had on them for covering their knees were two more large pieces with all manner of baubles and trinkets hanging from them. Poleyns, if Khepri remembered correctly. Their European was a bit rusty. Finishing the ensemble were two similarly adorned toeless sabatons with cloth wrappings instead of the usual shoes that accompanied such a thing leaving the sharp nails on their feet uncovered. Stepping into the room Khepri greeted the people already there with a wave before pointing at JoJo as they looked her right in the eye. "Hiya. I don't know you. I'm sure of it."It wasn't a lie. While they had the distinct feeling they'd met the ichory person before they couldn't quite remember where. Could you truly say you knew someone if you didn't even recognize them while they were completely disguised? Khepri didn't think so. Their pointing finger moved over to Ghouligan. "You I've seen on the radio. I'm surer of it."They wondered if anyone else would show up. Just in case they moved over to the side of the room with a skip in their step, an ominous sight combined with how predatory their eyes looked at the moment. ------ Tags: Ghouligan JoJo roadhog Kysaly Hiro

"Yes, hello?" Khepri said before holding the phone a bit further from their ear. Flipping their grilling fish they waited for the noise to die down before replying. "No I didn't use our private jet to fly fresh Tilapia over to Japan this morning. I have no idea who did that."Biting a chunk off the skewer she was holding with her tail the catbug continued listening to the shouted complaints, occasionally humming in agreement or offering a short reply. "Sorry gotta go now my Tilapia are cooked, talk to you later grandpa."Taking the fish out of the grates they'd put them inbetween they slapped them onto the usherette they were carrying and put on a new batch of fish before they set off. Approaching student after student Khepri handed out fish after fish until their tray was empty once more and the process began anew. "Grilled Tilapia, fresh from the Nile. Only just caught this morning!"
"Delicious Tilapia, so fragrant it'd take weeks to get the scent out of a private jet!"
"Wonderful Tila- oh, I'm all out. Better luck with the next batch!"
Khepri nodded to themself. Handing out fish had gone much better this time than it had last time. Tapping at their phone they wrote down several notes. 'Grilled is more popular than raw', 'Make sure to gut entirely, not partially' and 'Grill over fire, not water' amongst them. Finishing the next school of fish Khepri made sure to put the lock on their portable cooler just in case anyone would run off with the raw ones before once more setting off to hand out fish. Their gaze was quickly drawn to a motley group away from the rest of the crowd. What secrets were they hiding the catbug wondered. Khepri smiled. A mystery like that was just what this event needed! They knew keeping a rusty pipe strapped to their back for the past three days wouldn't be for nothing. Khepri's eyes flicked from person to person as they made their way over, wondering which one was the killer and which one was the victim. "Here, fresh Tilapia! Tell me if you kill anyone!" Khepri said to a tall, blond man on the way there. They were gone again before Shinto could question them. Remembering that their tail was still holding a now cold skewer they took another bite when they finally reached the motley band of murder mystery characters. "Hehy hevhryone," they began before swallowing, "grilled Tilapia, take however many you want! Which of you is the butler?"

Placing one arm in front of the other Khepri crawled through the vent until they reached the end. Fiddling with the side of the roster using one sharp claw they pried it loose and caught the steel construction before it dropped, using their other arm to hold onto the opening as they swung down. With a single smooth move they slammed the roster shut again while they dropped, neatly landing on their feet with the kind of agility only a cat could have. Of course, Khepri was only one-third cat at best but given that they were bad at math that'd never caused any problems when it came to landing properly. Casting a look around themself they took in the crowd before turning to the nearest person. "Are these the sign-ups for the crochet club?""N-no?"Khepri nodded happily in reply. They had no idea how to crochet. Accidentally ignoring the student's follow-up question they made their way to the front of the crowd to see what was so interesting that it drew all these people. Seeing a relatively open path Khepri used it to get closer to the stage, sidestepping a rude piece of ice that was heading the wrong way as they did. Then again, was it going the wrong way? Who were they to say what goals solid water would have? They'd tried to find out in the past, relentlessly questioning their target every day but by the time spring rolled around and it melted they still hadn't received an answer. Once they finally neared the ongoing show they stopped with a hum and a frown, spotting someone that looked familiar. "Hey, do I know you?" Khepri asked Gen while tilting their head, the man's face somehow bringing up memories. Their thought process took just long enough that the man in question would likely be partway through his reply before they continued. "Ah! I remember now. You look just like that guy I saw get shanked in an alley back in Egypt. Was that you? Wait, I thought you died? Didn't you? I thought you did." Khepri hummed. They weren't sure anymore. Which meant they had to get a second opinion. That usually helped. Turning away they innocently asked their question to the crowd. "Hey does anyone else think this guy should be dead?"

Khepri had been to many theme parks in their time but none quite compared to the sheer realism UAU managed to put into the arena. To have not only the other students but even the audience fit completely into the underground aesthetic left them highly impressed. Why, the costumes and disguises were so good she only recognized one other student! Someone Khepri had never talked to and only met once when they'd walked into the wrong classroom and sat through an entire lesson without ever realizing it wasn't where they were meant to be. Only when Khepri's far more familiar looking classmates asked about their absence the next day did the catbug catch onto the fact that they'd been in the wrong place the day before. "Good luck!" Khepri enthusiastically waved back from the other side of the group while looking over their fellow contestants. They didn't recognize any of them and a fair few looked absolutely terrifying but that had never stopped Khepri before. Amongst the crowd there were several that caught her interest and wouldn't you know it, she had just the right tool to form a team! That would have to wait for later though as the scene suddenly changed revealing a cityscape much like the one they'd gotten lost in that one time they didn't wanna talk about. "Go, go Khepri bot!" The catbug shouted with one arm raised over their head while the other pressed her Robo-cat's 'on' button. They had the feeling they'd need it if this turned out like the other time they'd wandered into something like- Oh hey, was that a gleam behind that window over there?! This really was just like- Oh no. That's not good. As the announcer finished speaking and the guns went off Khepri immediately raced towards the nearest door. It had a gun sticking through the opening that was relentlessly firing their way but the catbug had a plan. Guns only fired from the front. If they could just get behind it they'd be out of the line of fire. Yet as a rubber bullet heavily impacted their side and sent them carreening they realized charging right at the gun might not be as easy as one thought. ...Unless they had rocket boots! With a tap of their heels they activated the Slam Jam and aimed themself at the door. If all went well they'd be home free!
TL;DR: -Khepri thinks they're in the UAU arena, unaware they got incredibly lost and ended up here in the Underground Arena. -Takes a look at everyone while replying to Chirp, has hopes of teaming up with several of the other contestants -Activates Robo-cat hoping for the best -Tries to get behind one of the guns but gets hit by a rubber bullet and is sent of course -Activates her Slam Jam rocket boots to shoot towards it anyway. ------ Tags: Jinx CHIRP ♪♪ smileyj Taro Yamada

Khepri's eyes dilated as Bun put on her cutesy act, the catbug's predatory instincts set off by the prey animal behavior. With an unblinking stare their eyes locked onto Bun's own before the woman's words pierced through the instinct induced haze and her focus shifted to the crowd, eyes flicking to each possible target in turn while their posture lowered as if they were about to leap. Khepri only narrowly managed to turn back to Bun before her instincts fully took over, their sharp teeth showing as they replied. "We'll catch up in seconds. Hold onto the stand and don't be sled astray."
The words were barely out of their mouth when they burst forth, one net bridge wrapped around each of her forearms. Khepri hadn't been exaggerating about the speed as they reached the first potential customer in seconds, her pace slowing to match theirs in order to keep pace with them as they ran. Their predatory instincts howled at them, urging them on to continue chasing all the running targets in the distance. For several more long seconds Khepri managed to control themselves before they sped up once more, navigating around obstacles and sand piles lest they end up sled and buried. Over and over the scene repeated itself as they raced down the beach, keeping pace with humans and sea critters alike for as long as they could before chasing the next target. With how often something lashed out or suddenly diverted course their way they sled a fine line between profits and debilitating injuries. It would surely end up fine. They'd ran many times before without getting injured or crashing a sled attached to them. Which might have been because they'd never pulled a sled but who could say, really? It was good, honest work as their family's patriarch used to say when he got drunk and derisively pretended to be a farmer -or peasant as he called them too-. Khepri thought for a moment. What was the other line he used when mocking the labor of the downtrodden? Ah yes, they remembered now. All in a sleigh's work! Or something along those lines at least. Khepri wasn't too sure. ------ Tags: Yue "Bun" Tuzi

Delaying the screaming practice until later Khepri listened attentively to what Robert said before nodding along. "It might be one of them. I've actually met one of the fae once, her name was 'Miss Mafdet, that is not a fairy. Miss Taiyou's quirk allows her to change her size.' which even contains my family name so they really are mysterious like that. Who knows what they can do?"Following his finger with their eyes Khepri spotted the peak as well. "That's smart, hiding it up there. No one ever looks up." Khepri confidently stated in a tone that made it sound as if they'd just uncovered some grand revelation. "It could still be in the lake though. Fae tend to hide all of their fancy creations there like Excalibur or even live there like the Gwragedd Annwn." There were many examples like that and even more of fae or potential fae trying to keep people away from lakes to hide their secrets. One needed to look no further than stories about kelpies to discover that truth. Some tales even said portals to a realm of the fae were hidden in illusions atop their surface and the Lady of the Lake both appeared from and disappeared through one such portal. "Why?" Khepri asked, wondering if there was any specific reason he wanted to prevent the screaming practice. Would the fae or whatever other thing was up there be startled if they did? They couldn't help but wonder whether Robert knew more than he let on but for now they'd let it rest. After all, there was already a different riddle to solve. Continuing to listen to his explanation on the peak they figured their previous deduction was correct and returned their full focus to the task ahead until his final line distracted them. Gaze going to a nearby tree their eyes narrowed. Trees were large masses of wood and attached to them were smaller versions that in turn sprouted even smaller versions. Khepri hummed in thought as she walked further up the mountain, the map still held upside down in their hands. "Do you think mountains are just sticks for the planet?"------ Tags: solaris

For four days Khepri had been wandering. It had started in the simple way many great adventures did. A fetch quest. Which was to say that they had lost their keys and were looking to find them again. Yet regardless of how cliche it began the journey was what truly mattered -or so they'd read in a book- and Khepri had quite an interesting one so far. The first day was what truly set them on their path, for it was not an uncommon occurrence that their keys went missing yet this time was different. There was a riddle. For right after Khepri discovered the missing item they tripped over a cobblestone. A cobblestone! Right on a cobblestone pavement?! That couldn't be a coincidence. Doing her best to overthink things through Khepri reached a conclusion in less than an hour before standing back up. Cobblestones were most often used in old European streets and one of the most common languages used there was English. Much like how Khepri was on the same island they lost their keys Scotland was on the same island as the place English came from and the Scots referred to cobblestones as 'cassays'. Similar to that word the one the Flemish used was 'kassei' and in some dialects it was shortened to 'kei' which sounded like the english word for keys! That couldn't be a coincidence! Khepri was no stranger to overly complex riddles -having come up with a fair few themselves- so they just knew this was no mere happenstance, this was the beginning of a quest! On the second day they'd stumbled -quite literally- onto another clue as the cable of a metal fan had gotten snagged on one of their joints. From the documentaries they'd seen they concluded this had to be a surprise tool that would help them later. So they'd tucked it under their arm right next to the cobblestone and continued navigating the streets of Tokyo. Yet the more they explored the less things made sense, why, the only remotely interesting thing they'd found on the third day was a top-heavy stick! It was only on the fourth day when their wandering took them through the various areas of UAU and caused her to end up at a certain door that things made sense. The stick was a club! 'Kei' 'fan' 'club'. This had to be the endgoal of the riddle and by extension Khepri's adventure! With a wide smile on their face they walked in, dropping all three items atop the nearest table while looking at Yoko. "Sorry I took so long to get here, I used my moral compass for directions." Anticipation colored Khepri's features as they continued talking. "Where are my keys?"

Khepri considered Bun's question for a moment before answering. " No but it happens a lot."The sheer amount of weird things they'd ran into ever since they got to Japan was staggering. Not that there had been that much less in Egypt but Khepri had certainly gotten surprised far often over here. Their brow furrowed. Maybe it was just the cultural differences. Perhaps they themself were considered just as out of the ordinary to the people of Japan as the human faced crab or crab faced fish with legs sashaying sideways as it chased a screaming couple. Khepri could relate to that. They'd had occurences as well where they were just on a chill evening walk until all of a sudden people stood up off their couch and screamed at them, completely blotting out the sound of the movie they were watching. Even when Khepri themself was so nice as to grab the remote to turn up the volume until they could hear it again the people rarily stopped being afraid until their walk took them out of the house once more. Idly Khepri wondered whether crabfishlegs felt the same as they did when that happened. Taking a sip of the flask they just pulled out of their shirt in order to derail the thought train they offered it to Bun as well in case she was thirsty. Should she accept she'd find it was filled with broccoli cheddar soup. "Do you think fish would buy shells as well or do they already have enough of them back home? Oh, do you have drinks to sell to all the running people?"------ Tags: Yue "Bun" Tuzi

"Are you making fun of me?" Khepri asked with an unblinking stare when Robert finished his alien explanation. Raising both of their four-fingered hands in front of them they continued. "I've looked up a lot about them since my hands make me look alien and I don't think they're real. Well, I don't think they build stuff like this at least if they're real. Back in Egypt I tried to figure out how the pyramids were safe and the police officers told me it definitely wasn't aliens and that there were books in the library explaining how they were built. I haven't read those yet though so maybe the cops were wrong and it really was aliens." They leaned forward conspiratorially. "But maybe it's something else entirely..."Khepri nodded along to his next sentences. "They're the ones that build volcanoes apparently so maybe they build mountains too. Sure, it could also be due to the collision of two continental plates forcing rock to crumple and fold over the course of millions of years until they've formed massive mountains the same way paper can turn into an origami swan but that seems a bit far fetched, no? I mean, continental plates? Who even cooks enough that you'd need plates that big!" Khepri laughed while waving their hand back and forth. Their eyes widened. "A map?!" They didn't know those were still used outside of pirate series. "I'm in, let's go!" After accepting the map Khepri spent several moments looking at it, turning it this way and that and trying to figure out all the different things on it. Robert had been right. The map did display a map. A map of a map, how strange. They wondered if there were maps of mapnt's. Was that even a word? It should be. There were plenty of things that were mapnt's, like books or magazines or scrolls or... Oh! That symbol was probably the peak. Gesturing for Robert to follow they confidently went in the wrong direction, heading downwards off the path in the direction of a nearby lake. With a wide smile and a nod they continued talking. "I can help with that too! I've been down the mountain so I know where that is. I don't know how good I am at screaming though, I haven't tried in a while... Hmm, do you think I should practice on the way?"------ Tags: solaris
