Drop the Mike
Michael was just about to crash with all these quirk constructs into the arena, only for them to burst into a smoke right before impact. This caused a thick cloud of smoke to envelope the arena, but the momentum was still going strong for Michael. He squished into himself so hard that his head pressed down to his feet. Rather than having to tank the impact of all those bunnies and himself, he now felt the full force ripple through him. His body compressed into itself entirely, before launching him up into the air like a rubber band propelled rocket. The heat engulfed Michael harshly, but his bounce against the ground was so fast, the smoke and heat just was pulled up with him as he was launched back into the sky. It was all happening so suddenly, Michael wasn't even sure if he was feeling the heat from the quirk or the burn of his body bouncing harder than it ever had.
Michael was dizzy. That much strain on his body, first pushing himself through inflating and then following it with that bounce, Michael began to black out as he reached the apex of his ascension. He was so high up and disorientated that the crowd below sounded like it was underwater. The world was blurry and warm... but perhaps that was more from the smoke. Michael began to plummet from dozens of meters up, dropping listlessly towards the arena below.

Follow the Bouncing Ball
It was remarkable, like something out of some kind sports drama. Their musical syncopation had worked in their favor. They made it past their obstacles and even had the crowd chanting along with them. Clearing over that finally hurdle, the pair landed on the other side of the gap from the greased ramp. Now they just needed to get to the top of the hill and get one of the remaining flags.
It was genuinely impressive that one of the flags had already been claimed. Michael had assumed they had made great time, and yet they were already in the running for second place. He'd love to meet the people that made it their first, perhaps they would have great advice he could use in the future for similar struggles.
That in mind it was up to him and Misaki to get to the other flags, fast. So Michael had an idea. "Quick, hop onto my back." Michael said to his partner, kneeling down for her to easily ascend. He knew he wouldn't be able to float them up there very quickly, but he had another idea in mind. With his rubbery body, he could bounce them up the side of the slope.
Notes & Tags:Takanashi Misaki , TLDR: Making it past the obstacles, they had just one more to go. To be fast and get to the flags quickly, Michael suggested Misaki get on his back so he could bounce their way up.

Michael felt his arm whip through with his motion, slamming into the mechanical limbs that kept Kei lifted up. Had this been a few months prior, Michael wasn't sure if he'd have been physically strong enough to knock loose the metallic gadgetry. As much as he didn't like fighting, he had worked hard to make himself strong enough not slow down his peers. His plan to sweep the "legs" of Kei seemed to have worked... unfortunately too well. Michael's stomach clenched when he saw just how hard Kei hit into the ground.
Michael retracted his arm and rushed towards his fallen school mate. Kei began coughing harshly; Michael wasn't sure if it was from the impact, or if he had inhaled some water, or a little of both. Michael ran to Kei in concern, only to be met with a chaotic torrent of water. He was completely caught off guard by this and blasted back a little but it wasn't as concentrated as earlier so Michael was pushed back to far before the "arms" moved off him to spray in random directions.
Michael needed to be more careful... Kei could still be harmed indirectly if Michael attacked the arms. Even attacking Kei's mechanized extremities put Kei at risk with them strapped to his back. Strapped to his back... Now there was an idea: a pacifistic loophole. Michael didn't need to fight against Kei or his limbs, he needed to neutralize that pack. Either separating it from Kei or breaking it enough to stop working. It wouldn't be easy, but at least now he had a target.
Michael began building up some bounce as he ran towards the ice wall. He watch of the water streams to avoid getting blasted or slipping from too much flow. He just needed enough speed to bounce off the a higher spike on the ice wall to land himself behind Kei. Compressing into that impact, he could then bounce off the ground and pinball straight towards Kei's back. His focus would be the pack itself but if he had to break the arms first, he'd need to do so as carefully as possible to avoid whiplash on Kei.
As he sprung off the wall, something happened he hadn't expected, the wall crumbled and melted. He didn't think he had struck it hard enough to break, especially so completely, which meant Masao and/or Ylva had done something... This normally would be a good thing, but it threw off Michael's trajectory for his plan. Michael could only do his best to readjust on the fly... but at this speed with this much force applying to him, it made it like trying to steer a speeding bus going down hill.
As Michael slammed into the ground, he managed to spring towards Kei, however the trajectory was so far off it made it hard to control, causing the bouncy balloon man to hurtle like a human missile right at Kei and their partners right behind him. Whether Kei managed to get out of the way of Michael as he was launched at him or if Michael tackled into him as well, it was clear that his path was flying straight towards Ylva and Masao.
Notes & Tags: Ylva Riis , Masao Ando , Kei Hada , Samaritan , TLDR: Michael got blasted in the face with water when he tried to approach Kei concerned he was hurt. Michael decided to focus on removing or breaking Kei's backpack to avoid hurting him directly (attacking him) or indirectly (attacking the arms). Michael bounced and sprung off the ice wall in an attempt to land behind Kei and bounce towards him to attack the pack, but when the ice wall melted, it threw off his trajectory. Sending him flying right towards Kei on a collision course with Ylva and Masao.

Trying a Trio
Michael chuckled along with Yoko's statement about printers. "Most stuff now a days are digital anyways." He agreed with a lack of understanding for printers. Michael then laughed along in silent agreement with Wendy's appraisal of Yoko. He was glad that both Yoko and him were making Wendy feel welcome. This was apparently all so new to her. She had never even had friends or ramen before.
Taking Yoko's cue Michael said, "When we're all done here, let's go grab a few bowls. My treat! That way we can show you a little around town and continue to get to know each other."
Michael was thrilled that they all seemed to be getting along so well. Wendy was so nice and Yoko was clearly warming up to her quickly. It would seem that their duo might finally expand into a trio. The idea that Wendy would also be attending school with them was even more exciting. With Wendy's apparent personality, she would make for a great partner in heroing as well. The idea of how much the three of them would be able to help and comfort people brought a big smile to his face... or would if it wasn't just a balloon.
Michael knew better than to lift Yoko up without her request. Even if she would be able to see over the desk easier, he didn't want her to think that he was patronizing her by lifting her up into view. So Michael just hit the bell on the desk to signal to whomever was here that they were in need of assistance. "Hello? We have a new student that needs her ID and class schedule." Michael called towards the back in a bright and friendly tone.

A Pop after the Popping
Michael had actually be doing fairly well. He was focused on clearing out as many red balloons near him as possible so to stand out all the more as a person with a balloon shaped head rather than a target and by assuring he wasn't hidden within a bunch of them he would hopefully not be mistaken or attacked by a miss attempt at a real balloon.
Michael loved the idea of making a new friend, though the proposal for drinks was definitely a more mature invitation. He didn't even understand the implications of his statement and the misinterpretation of him saying 'take me out'. He just thought it was exactly as Khepri suggested as making new friends. He just was hoping it wouldn't require any alcoholic beverages. But suddenly Michael tensed as Khepri's eyes dilated and she began charging towards him. Michael unfortunately had seen that kind of look from cats before, and it usually ended up with him needing vinyl patches to recover from their sharp attention. At the last moments, they seemed to change course and slice up a balloon that had floated in behind him.
Michael sighed in relief as her demeanor shifted back as it was. "I like tea, but perhaps a nice soda would be good after this." Michael expressed trying to shake off his nervousness.

Together Over
Michael's face felt hot as his already red balloon head blushed all the more from his embarrassment. Not catching that she was teasing him, Michael panicked in concern that he had offended her with his poorly framed statements. "W-with helium! It would make me lighter! You probably don't weigh more than I do. I mean- definitely! You definitely don't-!" But then Michael finally noticed her suppressed laughter and the tension poured off his shoulders. "And... you're messing with me..." Michael sighed in relief to have not insulted his teammate before they even got a chance to compete together.
Michael took in her consideration of his size and regulated his gas and equalized their weights as best he could from eyeballing this. It'd be easier to adjust from here, so it was good enough. And this proved as effective as he and Misaki breezed through the first challenge with the crowd chanting along with their song.
The second change of crossing the panels without falling through a collapsing tile proved even easier for the pair. Coupled with Misaki being able to literally sound out the weak tiles, Michael increased his helium levels and just bounded across the tiles as if they were all safe. Still he kept up with Misaki to assure she made it across without issue, all the while singing along with her and the crowd.
"He roller-coaster, he got early warnin'
He got muddy water, he one mojo filter,"
As the made it pass the tiles there was an immediate drop. It wasn't a full 90 degrees but there was a sharp slope, and what more it was coated in some kind of grease that made sliding down the slope all but assured. It swooped down and curled up to a ramp for leaping over an actual gap. It would be difficult to keep footing but that would be the only way for them to jump at the end of the ramp for the platform across the gap.
Michael could likely just float the rest of the way over as he was still full enough of helium from the tiles that this wasn't a challenge to just drift over. However her needed to get Misaki across as well. She likely could put it off on her own but to assure she made it over the gap, Michael propelled himself over the gap and held his arms out to catch and swing her across should she need it. Singing strongly with the song to give her the count down for her to jump to:
"He say, 'One and one and one is three'!"
Notes & Tags:Takanashi Misaki , TLDR: They keep the groove going, Michael barely floats over the tiles, keeping close with Misaki. As the third challenge is a greased slope, Michael floats over the gap it ramps over to give Misaki the timing for the jump and to catch/swing her should she need it.

The Struggle
Michael immediately started towards the rubble, only to be jerked back slightly when Gen started to walk away. Michael put up with Gen's devil's advocate routine, but this was a step too far. Michael yanked back against the binding, forcing Gen to turn back towards him.
"Kurokami-san! You're not a bad person! You can pretend to not care, get angry and do bad things, but that doesn't make you a bad person! It makes you a bad hero. I am here because I want to do good, I want to be a good hero. And deep down I think you're here to do the same. You act like you don't care, that you're above everyone, and maybe you are, but isn't that all the more reason to help?! You should use that greatness to help those who need it! I follow the rules because I trust in the people giving them, I believe that they are good heroes, I believe if I follow their guidance I can be too. You can choose not to trust them, but you need to trust that they are trying to make us good heroes, make you a good hero."
Michael didn't yell, but it was clear he was at the end of his rope. He desperately wanted Gen to be a hero and use his gifts for good, whatever they were. Michael turned to the rubble in the office, it appeared to be a collapsed ceiling. Michael tried to work his free arm underneath it, straining to try getting it in there deeply so he could get a good grip and inflate himself to lift it off, but with only one free arm, this wasn't working. As Michael strained to try lifting off the rubble, he continued to voice his frustration.
"You have the chance to be something even greater than yourself and you're throwing it away. Why?! Because it's too hard? It's too scary? It makes you too vulnerable?! People need your help and you're letting them get hurting because you won't even try! You came to this school to prove to everyone that doubted you, everyone that said you couldn't do it, just because you were too nice, or too soft, or your quirk wasn't strong enough! You have to show everyone that you can be a hero! You can save everyone because everyone deserves to be saved! That you are a good person!!!" Michael began shouting, egged on by the pain from exertion as he was failing to lift off the debris with one arm.
It was clear from his words that this wasn't just about Gen. Michael had been feeling that he wasn't making enough progress and it had hurt that Gen called him out for it. He was holding himself back because of his morals, he didn't want to compromise his ideals of empathy and justice just because he was too weak still to do it without causing harm or breaking the rules or law. But as he struggled against the obstacle with only one arm really doing any of the lifting while scolding Gen, all his frustrations bubbled to the surface and he had just began yelling at himself.

"It's no bother at all, Mistress. Right this way." Michael said with a gesturing bow, however it seemed they weren't saying it as a suggestion as Tamaya ended up just taking a seat at the nearby table.
Michael was concerned. Not because of her brazen kind of attitude, Michael was actually use to a lot of his classmates having the same kind of demeanor, but he was tense at the idea of Yoko having a bully here and feel pressured to be polite to her. So Michael stayed near to act as a mediator should they brash behavior turned mean.
"My name is Michael. It's very nice to have you joining us today. Welcome to the UAU Sports Festival Maid and Butler Cafe, where our heroes only mission is to serve." Michael gave Tamaya the scripted greeting. "I'll be your Butler for today. Aside from the smoothie is there anything else you're in the mood for, or would you prefer to look through our menu first?" Michael smiled as he presented the menu to her, bombarding Tamaya with friendly service, hoping it would keep her in an equally friendly mood.

New in Town?
A Tank?! What did that mean? There was clearly something strange about this girl... but despite his confusion and curiosity, Michael couldn't just leave someone in need of help. His altruism far outweighed any concerns of who Wendy was or the possible dangers that might come from someone behaving strangely on campus. Also, aside from being in need of help, Wendy seemed like a nice person, even if she wasn't all there.
"Printed directions can be a little confusing since they don't give you context that you can have clarified immediately." Michael chuckled trying to give Wendy the benefit of the doubt. When Yoko asked if she was a first year, Michael continued after her excitedly. "We'd be happy to help you get adjusted. Sometimes the classes can be a little rough to start with, so its always good to have friends."
Michael beamed brightly. "Yoko has been helping me a lot since we became friends. She can seem a little abrasive, but she's helped me stand up for myself and be more assertive... when its okay to." Michael said reeling back a little worried he was coming on to strong. He didn't want to seem cocky or arrogant about it, even though he was proud of everything he'd learned from Yoko.
"Are you new to Tokyo? I know how scary it can be sometimes starting somewhere new, so just ask us if you need any help figuring the campus out and maybe we can show you some of our favorite spots around town. I know this great little ramen shop! The noodles are so good, it's to die for!" Michael kept the energy friendly as they walked Wendy to the front of the building, hoping their questions might help figure out an explanation for Wendy's... (for lack of a better word:) quirkiness.
When they arrived at the front of the building, Michael opened the door to allow Wendy and maybe Yoko in should they feel like she might need further assistance once inside.

Impact Event
As Michael floated above the scene, he could see Yoko and Jun talking, to put it nicely. From Yoko's body language, he didn't have to hear to know she was getting frustrated and angry. Michael was unsure what to do, since normally when Yoko got like this he would be there to talk her down, but he didn't know where to draw the line if she could actually handle this without his support...
However these thoughts came to an abrupt stop as something clung to his leg, and then more, and more. Michael looked down to see these ashy little dust bunnies clinging to his leg, and what was worse was they were multiplying. Not like rabbits, they were full on splitting like cells and doubling rapidly. Michael inflated himself more and more, trying to compensate for the growing weight. It was quickly becoming a struggle that Michael would be bound to lose at this rate, until an angry little voice shouted up at him:
''Michael, don't you dare lose to that bunny shithead!''
Like a light switch clicked in Michael. This wasn't about winning, this wasn't about standing up against upperclassmen, this wasn't even about putting on a good performance for the audience. Yoko was counting on him. He had to prove that he was able to stand up with Yoko, with Oniki. That he wouldn't be dead weight just because he didn't want to hurt people. He could still fight back even if he didn't fight.
Michael continued to push himself harder to inflate and fill with more and more helium. As more of the bunnies formed Michael wasn't even gaining any altitude, he was just barely floating as the mass of rabbit grew. When Michael couldn't take inflate another cubic inch, he released it all. Michael gritted his teeth in pain as the rapid deflation nearly felt like popping, but he couldn't focus on the pain, because it wasn't over yet. It hadn't been an attempt to keep floating despite the grow weight, it had been about gathering that weight to then drop with gravity.
"ONIKI! MOVE!"
Michael and the mass of rabbits fell like a massive stone, dropping straight down into the center of the arena, impacting with force of all of those bunnies smashing into the stage.

Brain Dablage or Cultural Misunderstanding?
Michael chuckled warmly from Wendy's confusion of what exactly he was. It was like the reaction he would occasionally get from children around Tokyo that called him 'Balloon Head'. Yoko's response to it was even more humorous and cute; Michael would have smiled over to her if he could as she pointed out her cloud. "And yes, this is part of my quirk. I'm essentially a balloon man." Michael added, simplifying it so it hopefully would be less confusing. But come to think of it, Wendy had said something particularly bizarre. Not knowing if someone was just a quirk construct of someone else was something that many people could plausibly have happen to, but to try entering a wall...
Michael was worried that maybe she was concussed or possibly inebriated... but it didn't seem like that was the case. Maybe she was from another city or country where they had different architecture... or was told by someone that there would be a hidden door...? Whatever the reason, it didn't really matter. She was in need of help, and Yoko and him were there to do just that.
"Follow us, we can show you the entrance." Michael said as hospitably as possible to avoid embarrassing her if it was an honest mistake or cultural misunderstanding.

New Experiences, New Girl
Michael walked along side his friend, commiserating in her dismay over mastering supermoves. Michael sympathized with Yoko, knowing how physically and emotionally exhausting her quirk was. He hid the fact that he had been working on his own supermove in secret. And her analogy of spinning around in a circle without getting nauseous was an astute observation. Michael wasn't really keeping the development of his supermove from Yoko because she was struggling with hers, it was mainly because he assumed that Yoko would angrily disapprove of his technique. The excessive amount of strain on his body while doing was subjecting his body to extreme pressures and rapid changing air flow. If he wasn't precise, he could very well pop a limb. So he felt it was probably best NOT to tell Yoko until he had better control.
"Well... yeah actually. Astronauts and pilots subject themselves to G-Forces to condition their bodies and strengthen their endurance and mental faculties. I doubt we're ever suppose to get completely adapted to the extreme conditions needed, but that's why our supermoves are meant to be a last resort epitome of our power." Michael tried to comfort Yoko. "It should get easier, but we have to train ourselves every day. That's the hard part."
Michael saw his friend stop walking and noticed a thumping sound. Michael turned toward the sound that Yoko was looking at and saw a quite tall pink-haired girl knocking on the back wall of the administration building. "I don't think I've ever seen her before." When Wendy began trying to call to the wall as if someone was suppose to let her in, Michael knew she needed some help. He was thrilled Yoko seemed to already be taking that initiative to help someone, even though it was such a trivial manner.
"She seems confused, we should at least make sure she's okay!" Michael agreed with Yoko, taking her hand and rushing over towards Wendy enthusiastically. As they got closer, Wendy asked about what an I.D. was and Yoko nervously tried to speak up. "Well technically it means identification document, but that's just splitting hairs. Hi! I'm Michael and this is Yoko. You seem like you're new here. We can help you find where you need to go if you like." Michael said warmly. He extended a hand out to her for a handshake, leaving it in the air for her to decide if she was open to the physical touch. "Nice to meet you!"

Michael was moved by not just Soundwave's social skills but by her leadership. She had found such a flawless balance between warm friendliness and practical tactician. There wasn't a sense of selfishness when she suggested going for all three flags, it was a game. A game with a goal and a tangible strategy to win. It wasn't out of malice or winning so that others didn't, it was winning because they were capable and going all out was just that much more fun to it. It pushed them to be their best and drove others to do the same. Even though Michael didn't want to make this competition confrontational, he could feel the infective joy that Misaki brought to the challenge.
As she instructed Michael to go left, Michael nodded firmly in confirmation. "Roger." Michael stated, almost having said 'right' which would have been confusing. "I can make myself lighter, but I can't really make myself much heavier than I am. How much do you weigh?" Michael could feel a spiritual smack to the back of his balloon head as the words left him. He could feel the idea of his mother scolding him for asking woman her weight, even though it was essentially hero work. "I-I mean so I can adjust my weight to match yours. I can inflate myself with some helium to equalize it."
Michael felt better about his earlier embarrassment when Misaki recognized the old English pop-funk song. Michael had inflated himself slightly, changing his internal gases to helium to correct his weight to match hers. The aerodynamics took a hot second to calibrate as they started, luckily because the tune was familiar enough to him, Michael kept in step and sang it out aptly to keep their beat. As Soundwave joined in with his song, the two moved in fluid synchronicity. Misaki matched Michael's timing and Michael matched Misaki's weight. They moved through the obstacle with such smooth synchronized motion, the audience began to get into it too. By the end of the second verse, the whole crowd sang out with them,
"Come together! Right Now! OVER ME!"

Whip It Good
The argument between Masao and Ylva just kind of faded into obscurity as the cheers and sounds of the crowd drowned it out for anyone not really focused on them. And Michael unfortunately had his full focus on Kei. His grapple had missed Kei as he used his robotic arms to move him out of the way. But just because his hand had missed, didn't mean he was out of the woods yet.
Michael cartwheeled in the same direction that Kei had side stepped to, jerking his arm along with him. Michael's hand had already flown past, but this yank down his arm made it whip towards the mechanist. Michael's stretched forearm was now swinging towards Kei perpendicular to his body, but wasn't aimed for him. It was aimed at the robotic arms that were carrying him. Michael had learned a lot during the hostage event verses Dr.Yanai. So targeting the mobility of Kei's gadgets was going to be step one in wrangling him in.
To pull this off, it did make it so he couldn't really do anything to stop or quell the water distribution Kei had just pumped out, but hopefully it would either force him to stop more or even get Kei in a position for a ring out. At least that was Michael's goal.
