there's not much to me. i just do my thing. people say i'm kind of tall but only kind of? they're surprised at how strong i am despite being as lanky as i look. just watch me flex though! it all makes sense if i show off a bit... and i love to show off (as long as the vibes are right). a celebration shouldn't tear people down. if i'm flexin' the whole squad flexin'. just need to find a whole squad to flex with first. you'll usually find me alone; people don't stick around much.

right. my two-tone hair, too. it's mostly black up top, but if i push it back or use my quirk, you'll see the underside is white. i've tried dying it but it never sticks? gets annoying that people can see me using my quirk. never had to deal with that. recently, i learned how to use my head muscles to 'spike' my hair for a moment. it's only a moment, but i look like an anime protag when i do it!

i don't really care if you're good at anything as long as you're nice to me.

i'm used to being treated like shit, so a kind gesture goes a long way. i just want to live a free, happy life spending time with the people i care about. i want to try every flavor of ice cream, with all the toppings in every combination, in the plethora of cones that exist. i don't even care if it tastes bad, we can always try again. or we can try something different. we have so few moments together, let's make the most of them.

but people don't like me. or the way i live. i try not to think about it — it get's me kind of bummed, actually. like, what did i even do? i'm just being myself and it's not enough. no... it's not even 'not enough' to them. to them? i'm nothing.

i won't let that stop me. i'm going to enjoy my life. i have to for old man yamaguchi. he taught me how to have a friend. and how to die for one. i was nothing until i met him and when they killed them, they killed a part of me, too. so now i'm less than nothing.

the system isn't worth keeping. heroes, cops, government... none of it. i'll take from them what they took from me.

i didn't used to have a quirk. i didn't used to have anything.

it all began on the day of my actual birth; both of my parents failed to show up.

no matter where i went, people left. i made a few friends after stopping some bullies from picking on the smaller, weaker kids at the park. they only stuck around until something better came along. that's fine though. i didn't mind as long as i had the company. being alone sucks.

never been to juvie. never been to jail, let alone prison. i'm not really in the system. i was born in a trashcan and didn't have a name until i was 17. people called me skunk because of my hair and because i smelled like literal garbage. there was this one guy though...

old man yamaguchi taught me a lot. people treated me poorly because of my low status. i didn't have a family. i didn't have a quirk. And i somehow avoided programs that helped people like me get back onto their feet. they thought i chose to be a 'degenerate piece of shit'. it only got worse the older i was.

i only knew him for a year. he showed me the ropes. and he taught me how to deal with the quirked out drug addicts and 'roid rage. power was an escape for the weak. they just wanted to feel important. like they mattered. but they didn't get it. you don't need power... you just needed someone who cared.


it's the little things. stealing fresh fruit from the supermarket. breaking into an empty apartment to sleep at night. making dumb jokes and laughing together. saying something dumber (somehow) and being laughed at. happiness is fleeting. share it.


some self-entitled quirk elitists who never made it as heroes or cops tried to clean up the streets on their own. but the old man was really old... they beat his ass until he asked for help. he never asked for help. he never wanted me to get my hands dirty.

he made one request before taking his final breath. take my eyes. i did what he asked. i plucked them out and put them into my head. the first thing i saw was a reflection of his death — the last thing he saw: my face. i think that's the first time i cried. only knew him for a year, but he loved me.

his eyes — my eyes — are still healing. but i see why no one fucked with him. people hate feeling weak...

tl;dr Rem can nullify any quirk within his line of sight.

Nullify allows Rem to lock on to any target within his line of sight and disable their quirk factor. All active or ongoing effects end and the target is unable to reactivate their quirk. When Rem's quirk is active, his hair stands on end and his eye glow pink. He does not need to maintain vision after activating his quirk.

» Rem can only target one quirk factor at a time. There is a cooldown between activations which increases with each subsequent use.

» Nullify deactivates when Rem blinks. If you prevent him from locking on to a target, he cannot activate his quirk. Destroying his eyes makes him quirkless.

» The difficulty of maintaining his quirk is determined by rank disparity. Both duration or frequency contribute to a steady increase of blood pressure, decreasing his Vitality and Awareness.

» Nullify only affects abilities derived from Quirks. Nullifying flavor (e.g. strength, speed) is opt-in only; never mandated.

» When Mutation quirks are targeted they don't lose their form, but their function. A prehensile tail becomes immobile, steel skin turns brittle, and leg-engines stall.
