[attr="class","shinigami"] Holding on tight Takeo smirked at Eli’s comment. Usually, people looked grossed out or felt pity for him when he revealed his situation. It was nice for someone to take it in stride like that. ”Don’t get too cocky, Freckles. We all fought some tough guys.”Takeo meant for the comment to be tongue-in-cheek, but his nonchalant tone didn’t help convey his intentions well. Yuki Onna began explaining the core concept behind Judo, going into Jiu Jitsu and Aikido as well. Throwing people from a standing position was more what he had envisioned, since he could follow up with his quirk. What she said about Jiu Jitsu being better for actual combat stuck with him though. He didn’t really want his own, frail body on top of someone else if he could help it, but if it was better for fighting… No, he couldn’t get caught up on semantics. Yuki Onna was well trained and knew what she was talking about, but Takeo knew he was smart. He knew himself better than she knew him as well- he just had to stick to his vision. ”I think I’d like to start with Judo for now, miss. Jiu Jitsu and Aikido would be nice too, if these classes go on for a while.”He nodded as she explained the mechanics of momentum and force applied physically. What really caught his attention, however, was how she intended to apply it to his quirk. Takeo shivered as the icy blast flapped his shirt, sending a chill down his spine. She’d moved so fast he hadn’t even had time to react. ”I…I’d never thought of that.” He spoke quietly. Now that she mentioned it, when his hand got close to reaching its range, he could feel a tug in his head. It wasn’t like it was rooted to his physical brain itself, but like his mind acted as a sort of ‘anchor’ for it. Maybe his consciousness was where the movements came from? Or perhaps something more scientific, like the electrical impulses in his brain? There was a lot of experimentation and research to be done, but already his teacher had opened his eyes to the possibilities. As expected from a professional hero. ”I think you might be my new favorite.” He blurted out, as though it were a completely normal and appropriate thing to say to a teacher. Takeo was not a fighter- at least not physically, so he mimicked a simple boxing stance that was common in movies and television. Fists raised, elbows bent, leaning slightly forward on his front leg. [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass] [newclass=.shinigami]width:540px;padding:35px; border:1px solid #e1e1e1; background: #e1f79d; /* Old breakowsers */ background: -moz-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%, #6f667b 100%); /* FF3.6-15 */background: -webkit-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%,#6f667b 100%); /* Chrome10-25,Safari5.1-6 */background: linear-gradient(120deg, #343c52 20%,#6f667b 80%)[/newclass] TL;DR - Smirks at Elijah's, appreciates someone taking his situation in stride and willing to joke about it - Fires back a friendly, joking comment- but his nonchalant tone may make it come across different (up to you) - Listens intently to Yuki Onna, asks to start with Judo, but that he'd like to learn Jiu Jitsu and Aikido too if their classes go on long enough - Is shocked by Yuki Onna's idea about controlling the momentum regarding his quirk. There's research and experimentation to be done, but she's opened his eyes - Casually blurts out that Yuki Onna's his new favorite - Takes up a stance like she asks, but he's no fighter so he just takes up a boxing-like stance he's seen on TV before

Elijah heard the other student's quip, prompting him to turn to Takeo in confusion after he stood from his bow. "Freckles?" Not taking the joke for what it was, he simply answered as if Takeo got offended somehow. "I never said you were weak. Just that you can't resist a knife if it hits you. Correct?" Whether Takeo responded or not, he continued. "Some can." He thought back to the girl who had a knife bounce off her head before she survived getting crushed by the golem's foot. People were not made equal. He's reminded of that everyday. Seeing everyone focus on their own partners, Elijah turned to Gleipnir with a shrug. "Hawthorne's preferred." Unlike the instructors, the students weren't heroes, nor were they acting as such here. So like a student he listened, quietly thankful the counsellor wouldn't delve into his refusal to use his Quirk. Granted she would've gotten a simple reason if she asked: It's useless. No more, no less. He nodded at her assessment, finding sense in it. "Correct. My skill is paramount to making up for that setback." Then a pause. "But compromise?" How was that different from being skilled? Elijah furrowed his brow as he readied a fighting stance, wondering what she could mean as he followed her instructions. "I assume I shouldn't let up on my strike." He didn't let her answer before he closed their distance. While Elijah didn't have his knives on him, he usually applied their lethality to his fighting style. This unfortunately resulted in moves that were too drastic in most situations. Like using his prosthetic to aim a palm thrust at Gleipnir's neck. Arataki Noa Iphigenia Pavlina Shirayuki Mai Sadako Gotoh Takeo Hoga

Noa's new Tai Chi instructor introduced herself as the hero Recall or Iphi. Personally she still wasn't used to referring to teachers by their hero names at school so she would be using the latter. As for her opinions on Tai Chi itself, well she did decide early on that she would go along with whatever the experts suggested. But Tai Chi was definitely not among the first things to come to mind when she thought of self-defense.
"Pleasure to meet you Iphi-sensei"
She would do her best to imitate the first stance and move demonstrated by the teacher. She had always thought of Tai Chi as a martial art that used slow movements so she didn't feel so awkward when she was taking her time to assume the proper form and strike. Iphi tried to describe the sensations but honestly her words were more confusing than helpful.
She was athletic and flexible enough to emulate what the movement looked on the outside, but whether or not her inner core was going through the motions in the same way was a different story. It was like she personally felt her on actions were not as smooth as the one done in the demonstration.
"To be honest I thought we would start with meditation, since that and Tai Chi always seemed to go hand in hand."

Seeing that Stranglehold seemed to be pondering her words Yuki Onna decided to give him a moment and take the time to check how the other students were doing. Given that everything appeared to be in order she turned back to the student in front of her, albeit she'd still keep part of her attention on the surroundings. Something was bothering her but she couldn't quite figure out what it was. As a martial artist she'd learned to trust her instincts on the matter so she took a moment to go over the past few minutes in her mind. Wait a minute. Oh no, it couldn't be! Not only had both of her colleagues given the choice between using their normal or hero names but both of the other students had decided to use the normal ones and requested the same courtesy for themselves. It was only Mai herself that hadn't given that option. She'd assumed things were still the same as when she'd been a student at UAU given that it'd only been four years since her graduation but things did change fast these days. Wait... Was it the case during her own student days? She'd always referred to her teachers by their title, a habit ingrained on her from years of education at her family's dojo, but had it ever been demanded of her? Mai couldn't remember but a sinking feeling was settling in her stomach that she'd misunderstood conventions. ”I think you might be my new favorite.” The words caught her off guard and shook her out of her thoughts. She briefly channeled her quirk through the pores below her nose and inhaled deeply letting the cold air cut through her doubts and recenter herself. In much the same way she poured just the slightest bit of cold out through her cheeks, just in case. It wouldn't do to show herself getting flustered while she was trying to teach. "I'm glad to hear, uhm, how would you like to be addressed?" Mai asked before continuing. "Either Yuki Onna or Shirayuki works on my end, whichever you prefer."Clearing her throat she observed his stance before taking one of her own to demonstrate the proper form. "This is a right-handed stance, the most commonly used one. While the term is not entirely accurate it will suffice for now. Right leg forward like this, right hand at this height and the other one roughly up to here. Left leg a bit further back."Checking his corrections as he made them Mai kept an eye out for his posture and facial expressions, unsure how much his muscles could handle. Either way it may be better to err on the side of caution. Building muscle and recovering from muscle strain worked off the same mechanisms after all and given that Takeo had already stated he could not do the former it might be possible the latter might take far longer as well. Who knew how his quirk would affect it? She would need to test the limits carefully over the course of several lessons. For now it seemed better to start slow, interspersing theory with practical lessons, before ramping up. "Which of the two is your dominant hand?" Mai looked Takeo in the eye. "And for that matter, which does your quirk manifest? Is it the same?"------ TL;DR: Mai checks how everyone's doing, internally freaks out over 'not being up to date on what the kids are up to' before continuing to teach Takeo and trying to hint at more quirk mechanics. It was a simple starter move that pretty much anyone could emulate, but the difference between a novice and a master was very apparent to those who practiced. Iphi was no master, but she had studied since she was Noa's age and had a pretty clear idea of how it was supposed to work. "Hmm..." she cupped her chin in her hand as she observed and could see, based on the rhythm, that she wasn't exactly getting the quiet relaxed part of Tai Chi down. "That's correct!" she said, approaching after Noa was done. [break][break] "The practice of meditation and actualization are two sides of the same coin." she could tell that Noa was feeling a little bit lost. "Perhaps we can try that to start?" she would take a seat, crossing her legs as she sat, and then pat the ground next to her for Noa to sit. "Have you ever practiced meditation before?" The others were doing more active training and so Iphi figured that maybe Noa would prefer doing something more simple? After all, she had managed to survive a full-on crisis not too long ago and could probably benefit from something more therapeutic. ''Hawthorne it is.'' She smiled, still internally assessing all three students as they moved ahead with the practical portion of the lesson, but her focus was especially on Elijah. As unusual as it might sound, Elijah reminded her of her younger self. Back when she hadn't embraced her quirk or figured out what her role in the world was. That wasn't to say they were alike in every way, but it did make her take a bit of a personal interest in his situation and refusal to use his quirk. She was glad to see how eager he was to get started, as she had hoped him being without his signature knives wouldn't discourage him entirely. Assuming a fighting stance of her own, Sadako did little to defend herself against his strike before the very last moment. His prosthetic would land a glancing blow against her neck as she too, went on the offensive. She wasn't too phased by his attack and instead tried to aim a palm strike of her own against his midsection. A cursory glance at her neck would reveal that it had been wrapped in protective chains. It wasn't perfect armor, but it was enough to help mitigate a bit of damage. ''The quirk does not make the hero.'' She loosened the collar of her shirt a bit with her index finger, as to highlight what she had done with her quirk a little more clearly. ''You will meet plenty of people who believe that they do. That it's a matter of luck, and by simply having a strong quirk, they are guaranteed a high ranking position as a top hero. Luck is a factor, but it is not a deciding factor.'' She didn't want to bore him with a long lecture, but she did want to try and get her point across. ''I resented my quirk for many years. It always got in the way, always failed me when I needed it the most, but then I tried to compromise with it.'' The chains around her neck vanished into thin air. ''Rather than try to use my quirk in the way everyone expected me to, I used it to try and backup the style I was already training, or cover up for potential weaknesses. I used it bit by bit. For a second, maybe two. Gradually, I got a better handle on it and what was once a hinderance became a new tool for me to use in a pinch.'' She smiled back at him. ''At the end of the day, it's the hero that makes the quirk. To discover the source of our power is a highly personal journey and it's different for all of us. To some, it means learning to understand their quirk, while others reject it and derive power from elsewhere. This is also the case for quirkless heroes.'' She rubbed her neck where he had hit her. No wonder this kid had survived a combat zone. ''I'm not asking you to make a choice today, but I encourage you to reflect on your own path sometime. Whichever one you go down, it is yours to choose and yours alone.''She raised her fists once again. ''How about one more round? I won't use my quirk this time.'' It was only fair seeing as he was having to make do without his preferred weapon of choice! ElijahIphigenia PavlinaShirayuki MaiTakeo HogaArataki Noa

[attr="class","shinigami"] Holding on tight Takeo followed her instructions obediently. Clearly, his teacher knew her shit when it came to fighting— and it had been a while since an instructor had earned his respect. ”Shirayuki is a little easier to say. You can call me Takeo if you want.” he offered, mimicking the movements with his hands. ”Right hand. I can manifest my quirk as either, but I usually do it as a right hand— I guess because I’m used to that being my default.” he answered. His body shifted uncomfortably as he tried to hold the stance and position, eyes flickering over to the other students. Both of them had survived the Elementals, so there was no question that they were tough. Noa though seemed…well, like a model student. Direct and to the point. Nothing was wrong with that per se, but it was Eli and his attitude that Takeo found more amusing. Takeo was admittedly not great at socializing. He knew how to be polite and get by, but most of his friends were people who had seemingly chosen him— or at the very least that fate had chosen. His only two friends at UA so far were the girl he’d fought the Enlightened with and his designated roommate. Comparatively, Eli seemed like an easygoing and fun guy, but Takeo had no clue how to approach him. For now, he’d turn his focus back to the reason he’d came here— to learn Judo. ”What next, Shirayuki?” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass] [newclass=.shinigami]width:540px;padding:35px; border:1px solid #e1e1e1; background: #e1f79d; /* Old breakowsers */ background: -moz-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%, #6f667b 100%); /* FF3.6-15 */background: -webkit-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%,#6f667b 100%); /* Chrome10-25,Safari5.1-6 */background: linear-gradient(120deg, #343c52 20%,#6f667b 80%)[/newclass] TL;DR - Decides to call his instructor Shirayuki - Thinks Eli seems cool but Takeo isn't great at socializing - Decides to focus on training instead of worrying about befriending anyone right now

With the banter done and dusted - for now at least - there was only the lesson left he could put his attention to. Elijah expected for his instructor to evade the strike; retaliate with her own once she assured her own safety. But her just taking the hit on such a vulnerable part of her body caught him off-guard. Not only did the impact reverberate up his arm to his shoulder, the feeling distracted him from dodging her move - which, ow, winded him slightly as he staggered back. He clutched his stomach as he listened then. Really paid attention to the chains that covered Gleipnir's neck. Instead of launching them out to grapple her target, she had them surround herself as makeshift armour; absorb the hit she knew she was going to get. As she explained, she didn't use her Quirk in expected ways. It brought him back to Nerima, where he melded with that statue. Well, a student who turned into a statue but still. Semantics aside, he took control of the stone figure, able to put it into motion so he could catch the woman before she could escape. That was about as unexpected as he could get with his Quirk. He didn't even know he could do that until then, so used to using it to hide or run away. Gleipnir hated her Quirk too. Perhaps as much as he did his own. The difference was she was able to find ways to utilize it that suited her over time, while he was steadfast in his belief that his own was not good for anything. But that was no longer true, was it? It's not just for running anymore. It left Elijah with a lot to think about. "I understand." He truly did, or at least he wanted to. The hero was imparting knowledge he didn't want to take fore granted. Though there was an awkwardness to his lack of response compared to her speech that he hadn't felt in a while. "I'll... think about it."With a sigh, Elijah readied his stance instead. "One more round works. And unless improvement in Quirkless combat is the aim, I'd rather you not handicap yourself for my sake. Golems are uncommon but quirked villains very much aren't." He'll figure out a way to get past the chains. Maybe. Whether Gleipnir decided to use them or not though, he'd make the first move again, throwing a feint at her face before he tried to land a punch on her solar plexus. It wasn't much but she was glad to get some approval on her attempt to recreate the teacher's moves. She would need more practice to perfect it but if she got the movement right then it was only a matter of time and effort to get the mindset right too. Speaking of which, Iphi would respond to her comment about meditation asking if she had some experience with it. This was something Noa could respond to positively.
"Actually I have. There was a time in my life when I had some difficulty getting rested and sleeping and so I was advised to try meditation."
She walked towards where Iphi pointed for her to sit and assumed the same cross-legged position.
"Take deep breaths and try to get a rhythm. And then focus on my senses and sensations my body can feel. Keep it up for 20 or so minutes. That's what I was taught. It did help with getting better sleep and nowadays I don't really need to anymore to get a good night's rest."
How much of that was relevant to Tai Chi meditation, she didn't know. But surely there were some similarities. She patiently waited for the next instruction.

"Very well. Takeo it is then," Mai replied to Stranglehold with a curt nod. Hearing his explanation she briefly considered her reply. The fact that his quirk wasn't intrinsically linked to his dominant hand might make establishing a strong mental connection between his physical movements and quirk-related movements more difficult but it certainly did not make it impossible. Given that he himself already seemed to have built a preference for manifesting his dominant hand -whether consciously or subconsciously- the beginning of a foundation was already being established and if nothing else it was worth testing if for no other purpose than to assist him in figuring out the inner mechanics of his quirks even if it were to fail. That was a concern for later however. Mai kept the thought in the back of her head, she could always mull over it later. For now there was a lesson to focus on. "Interesting. If I may, I do believe it would be worth looking into in more depth when you have time. Should you sign up for the advanced course I would be more than happy to assist." Not that she wouldn't help if he didn't sign up, of course. In her experience however pushing too hard was unlikely to be helpful. Many who aimed for a hero license already had plans worked out, it was perfectly possible he had someone else in mind who could be equally -or even more- qualified to assist in this endeavor. She waited for him to regain his focus and proper stance before she continued. "Normally, the first thing one needs to learn is how to fall correctly. Given that this is an introductory lesson however I will instead be teaching some of the fundamentals so you can better decide your future path." She took a deep breath while adjusting her stance, holding her forward hand at shoulder height while miming a leg hook. "Even within Judo there are differing styles. The most commonly used ones rely on both practitioners wearing a Gi and grasping the lapels for leverage." Her arm went slightly higher and her hand seemed to cup something from the side instead of forming a scrunched fist while she repeated the motion. "When practicing a No-gi style the back of the neck is usually grasped instead. Which of the two is more efficient is an ongoing debate even to this day and I won't bore you with my opinion on the matter."Mai took another deep breath as she resettled back into her standard stance. "I will note however that many you will face during hero work will not be wearing clothing you can adequately use against them so if nothing else I would advise you study some No-gi eventually. Practicing with Gi allows you to more easily restrict your opponent through grips which hinder movement -a style I believe might suit you best- whereas without a Gi it is much harder to lock someone down and quick reactions and constant motion are emphasized more." Continuing her explanation she moved her off hand to each of the spots she mentioned during it one by one. "Either way, we will begin with a set of techniques that work under either style with minor modifications. The important thing to note is where you will be leveraging your strength. On your opponent your grips will focus mainly on the wrists and back of the neck for your arms and back of the knee for your legs. On yourself you will be using your shoulders, hips and thighs. The key is employing sturdier areas of your body against more malleable ones of theirs and moving with, not against, their motions to use their force to supplement yours."Her explanation was beginning to drag, she could feel it. No one's attention span was infinite and before long even the most attentive listener's focus would begin to slip. She had to conclude this quickly and move on to practical exercises to solidify the lessons. "Finally, it is important to note that even if you are disadvantaged in a fight there are many ways to even the odds. If your opponent's clothing does not allow for a proper grip there is no reason you cannot use either your environment or your own costume to your advantage should you prefer to rely solely on a single style." Like a viper her hand shot back, grasping one of the thin scarves behind her and flinging it forward with one smooth move. A twitch of her wrist changed its momentum so it crossed over itself after circling around Takeo's shoulder diagonally, creating a loop not unlike the lapel of a Gi. "With sufficient practice a wide range of options become available to you. So without further ado, let us begin. I will demonstrate three simple throws, the Ouchi Gari or inner reap, Ogoshi or hip throw and Uchi Mata or inner thigh throw. We will then practice them until the switch." Or until he'd mastered them sufficiently. She doubted that was possible in the time they had left however. "I have plenty of experience falling correctly so you need not worry about being too rough."Which reminded her, there was one more thing she had to do before they could properly get into it. "Everyone! We will be switching partners in fifteen minutes, if you have any questions left that you didn't have time to ask during the assigned time slots feel free to address us after the lesson."
With that settled there was no reason to delay further and without hesitation she threw herself fully into the demonstrations and practice, determined to make the most of this lesson and ensure everyone benefited from it as much as possible.
TL;DR: -Mai mentions looking at Takeo's quirk functionality more during a future lesson -Explains the difference between Judo with or without a Gi and the respective advantages and disadvantages -Shows a practical example of how equipment can be used to supplement a fighting style -Prepares to demonstrate and practice three basic throws -Reminds everyone there's 15 minutes left before partners are getting switched but that they can ask more questions after the lesson. ------ Tags: Iphigenia Pavlina Sadako Gotoh Takeo Hoga Elijah Arataki Noa

Perhaps it was because when she was younger and in the hero course she scoffed at the idea of meditation. Her focus was always trying to keep up or improve on her physical capabilities in order to not fall behind those with better quirks. Of course nowadays she didn't think like that at all and part of her was glad that the next generation wasn't as hotheaded. At least those she had met so far. [break][break] "That's such a good thing! Whoever recommended that knew what they were doing. Did it work for you?" she figured it must have given the way she brought it up and ultimately even if it didn't it would definitely expedite the process "This actually makes the concept easier to explain, quiet alertness can originate from martial arts and then applied to meditation or the opposite. If you have more experience in meditation then we should go about it that way." she'd take a deep breath and her shoulders would slump, her whole body moving as one "We can take it step by step, first once you feel your body relax you're going to want to focus on your senses. The sensation of the ground under you, the feeling of air on your face, the sounds of everyone else around you. Doing this without increasing tension in your body is the first step." she'd hear Mai's announcement of their time coming to an end "Our time is almost up, but please come by my office if you ever want one on one training. She smiled at his response. She hadn't known him for long, but she couldn't help but feel a little proud of the answer he had found. Even if it was temporary. Even if he thought about it and still decided to stay on the same path, at least he had been open enough to give it some thought. ''That's all I'll ask of you.''''You are correct, Hawthorne, but just as mastering one's quirk is important, we also can't rely on it too much.'' He probably had a leg up on her in this aspect of fighting. Elijah was clearly either a hard worker or talented, or perhaps both. Just how much had he trained while condemning his quirk? She could only imagine the kinds of sacrifices he had made to become that good in spite of it, to pass the entrance exam and get into the school in spite of it. She did indeed choose to level the playing field this time, refraining from using her quirk this time, as sparring with someone in a fight without quirks was somewhat of a rarity for her. Besides, just as she expected, when she went to block the feint and eventually was hit in the solar plexus, she knew she was outmatched. Staggering back a few steps, she panted, putting a hand over the area she was hit. ''Not bad, not bad at all, Hawthorne.'' She looked up, smiling through the pain. Not only did the student get a win, but it was genuine too. There was no way she could willingly fake taking a hit like that. ''We were rotating partners, right?'' She let out a small cough and straightened her back as she bore the pain. ''Bring that same energy to your next sparring partner.'' She gave a reassuring thumbs up. [attr="class","shinigami"] Holding on tight If nothing else, Shirayuki’s teaching style was informative. Perhaps a bit of information overload, but that just made Takeo the perfect student for her. After all, he had a quirk-modified brain capable of keeping up. ”I’ll just focus on No-gi then. Like you said, most people won’t be wearing the right kinda clothes. Even if it’s harder, so is everything worth doing.” he added. He’d follow her instructions, easily getting caught by her scarf and her movements. Of course, he was grateful for any practice she let him have as well trying the three different throws. The fifteen minutes flew by much faster than expected, and by the time he realized it people were already moving around. ”Shirayuki,” he spoke up, not wanting to miss his chance, ”You’ve already given me a lot to think about. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much from this, but I learned a lot. I’ll sign up for the advanced course, but…”Takeo took a deep breath. He wasn’t one to get nervous or embarrassed, but he didn’t want to offend a teacher he’d only just met at his new school. Besides, she’d already earned his respect, and that warranted some level of self-consciousness. ”If it’s alright though, I’d like to…uh…work under you. If you’ve got any internships open or anything.” [attr="class","mizocredit"] [newclass=.mizocredit a]font:bold 6pt calibri;letter-spacing:1px;color:#b5d1f1;[/newclass] [newclass=.shinigami]width:540px;padding:35px; border:1px solid #e1e1e1; background: #e1f79d; /* Old breakowsers */ background: -moz-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%, #6f667b 100%); /* FF3.6-15 */background: -webkit-linear-gradient(-45deg, #343c52 0%,#6f667b 100%); /* Chrome10-25,Safari5.1-6 */background: linear-gradient(120deg, #343c52 20%,#6f667b 80%)[/newclass]

The news that they only had fifteen minutes left until they switched partners fell to the back of Elijah's mind, the student focused solely on the instructor before him as they began their spar. He had a lot to prove when he enrolled in the university; while his passing of the entrance exam alone showcased his skill, he knew that surviving the courses was the true test. The other students weren't friends, they were a minimum he had to reach and surpass if he wanted to remain in the institution. Gleipnir choosing not to use her Quirk suited him just fine - he could respect her choice not to depend on it. So when he did land a hit on her - a true hit, not her just faking her pain for his benefit - there was a sense of pride. He learned early on to take every victory for what it was, no matter how small. Months of trial and error on moving his prosthetic taught him that lesson well. Elijah bowed to her. "Thank you for your time." Straightening again, he mimicked her thumbs up. "If I land a hit on them as well, I will tell them you encouraged me." Maybe it wasn't the best sentiment, but all he said was the truth. He didn't plan on backing down when facing the other heroes. Arataki Noa Iphigenia Pavlina Shirayuki Mai Sadako Gotoh Takeo Hoga

It seemed switching the focus of their session was the right move in terms of helping Noa understand better the principles of this martial art. In the end she was just lacking experience in terms of applying the concepts her teacher was talking about. But the tools were right there and she just had to grasp them. Unfortunately they were nearly out of time, so going more in depth into this training would have to wait.
"In terms of the results I would say I got what I wanted and needed out of learning and practicing meditation. So I certainly don't mind diving back into it again if it will help with this field too."
Somehow from the descriptions Iphi was giving, Noa was imagining those master martial artists from movies who were seemingly relaxed or sleeping but were immediately able to react to movements and danger that attempted to disturb them. Building up her sense of awareness was an advantage she could certainly use even outside of situations where she would be fighting. It would definitely be in her best interest to continue pursuing this field.
"I'm interested in more one on ones for sure. I haven't got it yet but I feel like it's only a matter of time before I figure this out."
Attending this session had been very productive so far. She was looking forward to what would come next.
