Of course, he wasn't conscious to notice, but another student showed up to draw Leonid's attention away from him which meant he got to sleep through the entire orientation without any consequences whatsoever. Life sure is good. If nobody woke him up, he probably would've been one of the last students in the room, sleeping all the way until a janitor or something kicked him out. Luckily/unluckily for him, somebody disturbed his slumber, and that someone was not a janitor. "Mmghhh," he grumbled, slowly opening his eyes. Still wearing the headband over his eyes, he ran his hand through his hair and turned to face the girl that woke him up. He couldn't be bothered to take the headband off so that he could actually see what she looks like. All he knew was that she called the orientation boring which meant that she probably wasn't a member of the faculty or one of those upperclassmen that volunteered. Nah, she was probably just like him: a first-year. As for why she was bugging him? Who knows! Maybe she was offended by the fact that he wasn't treating being here at U.A. as a privilege. That'd make sense. People would kill to get into U.A., and Sebastian had probably stolen a perfectly good seat that could've—and should've—gone to somebody actually worthy of it. Leo nonchalantly made his way towards the building that was supposed to be housing the new student orientation, the orientation had started already the Boxer was sure of it and he didn’t care. The only reason he was going to the orientation was because he was told he had to, they never said he had to be there on time, it wasn’t like he could tell when on time was supposed to be anyways. The campus was huge the pictures he had seen and the map he had received upon arriving at the university didn’t do the actual size of the campus justice, the speedster wasn’t intimidated by the size of the campus however all it would take was one ant or dragon fly and he could speed across campus right now however he stopped outside the building holding the orientation pausing for a moment trying to mentally prepare himself for absolute borfest he was going to have to sit through. His mental prep was shattered as a figure darted by him running into the building, Leo blinked for a second or maybe it was two he couldn’t tell before he strolled into the building following the running figure.     Leo stepped into the room right as the figure who had been running stood up from crashing crashing into the top row of seats, he scoffed as the other student apologized to teacher “Kiss ass” before walking over to one of the overturned chairs and swiftly bringing his foot down on leg of the overturned chair turning and sitting down in one fluid motion, he adjusted his jacket and put his feet up on the chair in front of him as he half listened to the teacher rattle on about breaking up into groups for some kind of tour he mumbled to himself “What a pain in the ass”  TAGS @tagged NOTES Abilities Being Used:

Given that she had just effectively hit him unprompted Takara was fairly sure he wouldn't respond kindly and BOY did Sebastian not disappoint. The subtly in his Sebastian voice reminded her of that show about that TV show...Surgeon When! That old British show about the guy that travels through space. A foreigner, huh? Not that she held any prejudice it just made his attitude towards the whole orientation even more funny to her. U.A was hyper-competitive just counting the Japanese population that wanted to attend so this guy had to be impressive. The snippy response just served to amplify Takara's interest in him, figuring someone who wasn't afraid of conflict like her would make a good companion for the future.[break][break]

"Hey I'm just following my grandpa's orders" she gave a half shrug not wanting it to be viewed as an excuse or justification for her actions "Takara Toshigawa. You thought this whole thing was boring as hell too, huh?" she gestured to the mask he used to sleep "For the record, my "deal" is that I want to live as freely as possible and do whatever I want. U.A is my ticket for that." she clasped her hands together as her starry eyes glowed brighter, taking this opportunity to judge Sebastian's strength "So! Why would a slacker like you want to attend a tryhard school like U.A?" she stuck out her tongue slightly to emphasize that she was mostly just messing with him. She hadn't been disappointed with him yet!

Sebastian ♣ ♦ ♥ ♠ Sinclaire [attr="class","FaustContent"]Boring? Yeah, that's pretty accurate. The orientation itself was boring, but he wouldn't necessarily say that U.A. as a concept was boring. He was quite confident that his life at U.A. would be anything but boring—likely filled with thrills and excitement every single day. That's the problem: it was too much for a slacker like Sebastian. He ignored the grandpa remark because it wasn't really relevant to him whether or not she was related to the old man welcoming them into U.A. Besides, he was far more interested in the fact that they weren't too unlike in what they wanted out of U.A. Although, he imagined her "deal" actually required her to graduate while his "deal" merely required him to find the opportunity to bounce back into obscurity. "Same deal as you, it seems!" he said in his usual sing-song tone. Then it suddenly dawned on him that that little grandpa remark was relevant. U.A. was just a temporary stop, and he might've just found an immediate ticket out of there. If she really was the granddaughter of a hotshot like Leonid, then that meant she came from wealth. He lifted his headband just enough to get a peak at her face, revealing his bright blue eyes. He'd give her a solid 7, which—while not ideal—was tolerable. He could work with that. Letting the headband fall back down to cover his eye, he kicked his feet up on the seat in front of him (not giving a single fuck if someone was sitting there) and reclined, tossing both his hands behind his head. "We've, like, got so much in common it seems," he began in his sing-song tone. He smiled at her and continued on, dropping the melodic cadence to his speech only to say with complete and total sincerity something completely and totally outrageous: "You wanna get married?" Braska heard of the orientation prior to the date and even put it on his phone as an alarm five hours ahead so he would be aware of it, unfortunately for him he was bad at technology even though he loved it so much! Ugh! It was a real struggle to be so inept about something you loved!!

Anyway so because his alarm actually never went off to give him a heads up and it had been days already and life for him was particularly busy with training and doing…other stuff. So after he had finished training a bit in the gamma room he walked past the large auditorium of sorts the orientation had been at and realized that today was that day. “Fucks sake Braska..”

He said to himself realizing he totally forgot on top of the fact he put his phone on silent somehow and the alarm had actually been going off for five hours since he had started his training the morning of! Rushing to his dorm room, Braska took a nice hot ass shower yet the cold of his skin made it steam up even more and he didn’t stay in for too long as he rushed to put on his student uniform forgoing the top hat he usually liked to wear. Despite that he couldn’t help but look at the pipe that had been in the corner of his room, taking it with him and holding it slung across his shoulders as he ran back to the auditorium breath slightly ragged by all the rushing he did in the last hour.

A loner by choice primarily he had wanted to be a bit more friendly so he had decided to go but now that he was late he think he had preferred not to be noticed in this way..so like many of the others he decided to slide towards the back of the room a bit towards the right blending in with people that seemed disinterested since he was the same not to long ago. “Damn, just how late am I..?” Braska wondered out loud as he took a seat.

With a final exhale, Leonid took a step back to watch the students speaking amongst one another, beginning to split up into their various groups, ready to be introduced to the many sights that U.A. University had to offer. All in all, this batch seemed... Promising, some high points, some low points, some that, if he was entirely honest, he was fairly convinced wouldn't make it, but he was ready to be proven wrong. Tardiness, violent tendencies, from some even obvious indifference, yet also ambition, already present, alongside bravery and obvious drive. Yes, the old lion had good feelings.

This was the first step.

For them, the first step towards heroism, towards becoming the very bulwark of Japanese society. For him, the first step towards helping them there, the first step towards giving back. The veteran had spent his entire career taking, ruining the lives of careers of his rivals to maintain his own pristine position. Maybe he could make up for all that here, the only thing that he knew for certain was that he had to try. Just as they did, as all of them did.

When the swordsmiths of ancient times had taken months to fold and work out the impurities of the steel they worked with, they had not done this because it was a superior smithing technique, they had done so because it was the only way to salvage flawed materials. They worked with inferior steel, and produced the best craftmanship that they could with their limited resources. Hard work and perseverance had removed fatal flaws, and ended up with something cleaner and stronger, but often still imperfect. That was the part of the historical analogy that Leonid had left out, but it was no less applicable to tonight.

Nobody in this room was perfect, least of all the teacher who had addressed all of them. But maybe, just maybe, enough time and enough work could improve what was there. Perhaps there was still enough raw material left in the old lion to create something fine in the end.

He could only hope, and until then, would continue to work himself against the anvil that was this student body. They improved him, as much as he improved them.
