"Pretty much once my parents discovered the quirk factor that developed these special cigarettes for me." she would slip the pack back into her pocket. "Unfortunately science has only come so far so they were able to make them odorless, but I still have to deal with the nicotine!" she laughed at the idea of somehow making a cigarette that was functionally no longer a cigarette.

"I'll take the same!" she said to the waiter, handing them the menu back before turning back to give her full attention to Freja. "Why do I want to be a hero?" she crossed her arms over her chest and looked up to the ceiling momentarily. She wanted to give Freja a satisfying answer that didn't make her seem self-indulgent, as she had a good deal of respect for Freja, given what she'd been through. However, honesty was always the best policy! "Truth be told, I decided I wanted the option in case the...business ever got boring?" she turned slightly red at the notion and quickly tried to pivot to focusing on Freja. "What about you??"

[attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"]If anything, Elijah's demeanor made her wonder what even drove him out here. He seemed pretty relaxed and had two arms at the moment, which made her believe he already had a prosthetic...or he was lying, but that would SUPER weird given the circumstances. Even still he returned her greeting in kind, stating his preference when it came to how to address here "Okita is fine if you prefer that." once they had cleared the initial entrance, she would wave to security which scrambled to get the door open, not even asking for any further I.D. After all, who would? She was very well known around here for pretty obvious reasons.

"Lost in a fire, huh? I'm so sorry, that's a horrible way to get injured." the area was silent aside from the clicking of her heels and sound of his steps on the linoleum. "So, our company focuses on biotechnology. Your standard DNA, RNA, medical treatments you name it! If your intention was to regrow the arm it will take a bit but that's possible. If you want a prosthesis that is more functional or could be used for UAU activities, that's always an option as well." she would press the button as the whoosh of the elevator descending could be heard, chiming as the door opened and they would enter. On the backside of the elevator, Elijah would see that there was a glass pane, and the view consisted of various tests and research being done on each floor, all relevant to the industry.

She would side-eye Elijah as they ascended, curious to see how he would react to the building. She wasn't one to have an ego but she definitely took pride in her work and this building was a reflection of that. The business side of Tiamat never interested her to begin with but the science? Now you had her attention. When they arrived on the floor the elevator would open revealing a long walk way towards double doors with a small station prior to entry. "So, we're just going to need to decontaminate before we go in. This is our organic reconstruction lab and we want to prevent any germination through cross-contamination. It's a little uncomfortable, just shut your eyes." she would walk over and demonstrate before letting Elijah have his turn "Any questions before we go in?"

[attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"]The gravity of the situation was really kicking in for Sumi. Perhaps it was the alcohol or just her nature but being so cavalier about something as serious and potentially traumatizing felt...wrong. A surge of guilt washed over her as she thought about how she might have overstepped by just coming up with a plan rather than asking how Freja was doing. She would place her drink down on the table and exhaled. "I shouldn't be so insensitive. Sometimes I get caught up in potential ideas I don't stop to think of the impact. That must have been hard growing up like that." her eyes flitted downwards thinking about how privileged she has been. Losing a quirk was hard enough, but losing a sibling? She literally couldn't imagine.

The idea of doing more karaoke felt hollow. It wasn't Freja's fault. She just felt that this environment wasn't the best to continue their night. She refused to let her shoulder the burden of Sumi's own emotions so she perked up at the idea of more karaoke and shook her head. "Wanna go grab some food somewhere? I don't know if it was the karaoke or the drinks but I could go for some real food! I can call us a ride if you'd like?" She was already on it sending a text to some of the employees for their transit service which was a major benefit of the company. "How do you feel about burgers? There's this awesome place that makes wagyu patties that are made with 100% Kuroge Wagyu and Matsusaka beef. Besides, when else will you get someone to treat you to something so good?" Whether Sumi had realized it, she felt a real connection with Freja. Perhaps in her way, this was her seeing whether Freja was open to spending more time with her. At least until she worked out exactly what level of friend Freja would become to her.

She was super interested in meeting other students but even more so to find someone interested in her work, even if it was for selfish reasons. It just gave her a chance to talk about it! She cared less about her life of luxury than one might think.

Giving him a bow, she would greet him with a bright smile. "Hello! You must be Hawthorne. Welcome to Tiamat!" she chose not to mention that it was technically her company. "You can just call me Sumi if you'd like! Please follow me." she would scan her badge as she let Elijah inside before she would follow. "We're going to Lab 4. Down the hall and up the elevator," she would gesture for him to follow before her intrusive thoughts got the best of her. "So, what happened to your arm?" she pointed at the prosthetic as she was curious and wanted to know more so she could construct a proper arm that would fit his needs.

UAU was precisely as she had imagined, with intense physical and mental courses, as they were very selective with their students. While she had gotten in on her own merits, she couldn't entirely discount that her parents may have gotten involved, but she was confident enough that even if they hadn't, she would have gotten in regardless.

The most challenging part of her days was moving between the campus, her penthouse, and the Tiamat branch she worked in at Tokyo Bay. Most of the week involved her trying to do it all without cutting anything back, and this included spending her obligatory time at the support labs as her "homework" plus working the hours required. Always the creative thinker, she decided that she could get credit for both her support lab and get some work for Tiamat done at the same time. So she decided to post her information by her assigned station that 'From 3 pm-7 pm all requests will be conducted at Tiamat' and she would organize a ride for anyone willing to attempt.

It had been several days since she had done this, and aside from Freja contacting her to say hello, she hadn't received any offers until today. A man named Hawthorne had an inquiry that required someone with expertise in her field about a replacement arm...a replacement arm? Sumi blinked as she read the text, unsure if this was a prank. Even still, she decided to book him some time anyway on her schedule, waiting near the entrance to the building in her work clothes.

[attr="class,"memoryDarkbody"]Sumi would continue singing her heart out as she continued to duet, feeling the music and really feeling the alcohol at this point. She took a sip of her drink every pause in the song until it was basically empty. Not wanting to break the pace she would place it down away from the duo as she continued, face turning red as her voice rose and fell with the flow of the music. She was going all out and would have continued to do so before being caught off guard by being pulled in close by Freja. She could barely continue on as she began to laugh at the situation and by trying to suppress it she would end up laughing harder. Even still, she managed to finish the last bit, throwing her arms up and cheering before she pulled Freja into a bear hug, squeezing her tight

"That was soooo much fun!" she would pull away from Freja, head tilted slightly up, and place her hands on her shoulders "Good song choice!" Sumi wasn't too hard to please, but even still Freja managed to find a good vibe to kick off the night. Turning towards the rest of their drinks and food, Sumi stretched again before making her way over to one of the couches, grabbing a small plate of food and fully reclining as she laid horizontally across it. "Break time!" she said, popping in some karaage as the room spun slightly.

Once she was finished chewing, she would sit up, pulling her legs to her knees. "So, anything else you'd like to know? I'm an open book, trust me. Get a tiiiiny bit of alcohol in me and I won't stop talking," either she really was drunk or perhaps she just thought of that as funny, but she would laugh at her own observation.
