Kenzou exclaimed as he burst through the gate with a flash of flames, his escorts following along behind him as they rounded up the armed yakuza members knocked unconscious from the blast of ice. Several of them had fallen from their positions on the wall, as well as others who shied away from the presence of the fire hero bearing down on them with a two meter long odachi— shouting at the armed members to put their weapons down. With his level of audio, there was no need for a megaphone. "This is the heroes and the police! We have a warrant to search this base on suspicion of illegal weapons manufacturing and the neglection of a young girl! I must implore that you throw aside your weapons immediately!"[break][break]
Most listened, a few didn't. They raised their firearms, fingers on the triggers, only to be met by Kenzou's blinding grin as he bore down on them with a single swipe to their guns, slicing them in half. Lowering his sword to their chins, he stared at them. "Please."[break][break]
With that, there was no arguing. [break][break]
They were promptly handcuffed. The giant intricately carved doors of the castle loomed before them, Kenzou momentarily stopping to raise a finger at Kei. "We shall proceed as planned! Yogi will lead your way, whilst I will follow up the rear!"[break][break]

Kenzou gave a genuine grin to Kei as the soldiers broke the doors down, following them. "At this point, the west group would have reached the other entrance and infiltrated the building. We are to cover the east side, and make our way down to the supposed basement where the weapons are being manufactured— or, little Koharu is hiding. So I ask you to put your brilliant brain and quirk to work to find this child so she may be relieved of her burdens." Kenzou put a hand on Kei's shoulder. "Can you do that?"[break][break]
As if trying to relieve Kei's stress, Yogi gave a comforting 'boof' at the student's side.[break]

Meanwhile, Kaida was still at war with the turrets that fired in her path as she dodged and weaved around the trees, ice dispersing from her mouth to obliterate each wall surrounding the castle. First the south wing, then the west, creating an opportunity for Luki's group to move in. Bullets sailed past her ears as she crashed through the north wing, finally disabling all turrets in sight, the fright of being shot at still hollowing her bones. [break][break]
Finished, she did not join up with her group just yet, landing atop the castle to claw her way into the building. There was someone else here that she had to find first. A special blood bond was at play, one that shivered through her flesh and gnawed at her skin.[break][break]

Kaida swallowed as Iphigenia answered Kenzou's shout with a perturbed look on her features. It didn't bode well with her.[break][break]
"I will wait outside whilst you three discuss what actions must be taken." Kenzou said with a nod. [break][break]
Kaida looked at Kenzou over her shoulder before following Iphigenia inside, taking note of their surroundings. A calm environment, contrasting what she expected of a Hero Agency, and not unwelcome. As Iphigenia sat down, Kaida took note of her appearance. From what she could tell, the teacher seemed to be under immense stress, and not undoubtedly because of the actions the pair of students took. The senior chewed on her lip, feeling guilt gnaw at her chest. How did she even start?[break][break]
"I take full responsibility for my actions, which in turn, caused Jun to act rashly." The words flowed out of Kaida's mouth before she could stop them. "I have always felt as though the crimes in which my clan have acted on should be punished by my hand, and my hand alone— to pick up after their mistakes because I am of the same blood as them, and I should be the one to deal with it so no one else suffers." Kaida rubbed at her forehead, then the circles under her eyes, a hand covering her mouth. "But I realise, my actions have caused the people I try to protect nothing but emotional duress." Kaida trailed off. "I would like to..."[break][break]
Do what? She wasn't entirely sure yet. Leave it to the officials? She didn't trust them to help the innocent people in the clan. There were many in her family that hadn't done any wrong, and ostracising them was the wrong move. They needed one of their own to help them. At least, that was how she saw it.

The seconds went by abysmally slowly as Kazashi and Daiki continued to spit insults at each other. With a heavy heart, Kaida realised why she felt numb to it— it reminded her of her own siblings. How many arguments did she endure with her brothers as the days went by, so coldly like the one she was witnessing right now? Her heart hurt, burned for Kazashi knowing that they were going through the exact same thing with their families.[break][break]
They had failed them in every single possible aspect, and robbed them of a fair life.[break][break]
The rage from that realisation manifested as Kazashi created an opportunity for her to strike. She reared back her fist as she got into her offensive stance, sending a single punch towards Daiki's chest, not intending to withhold even an ounce of her strength. If successful, she would follow him, aiming to kick at the back of his knees to send him keeling to the ground. "Kazashi, I don't want to use my quirk in this environment—" Kaida gritted out. "Not with you here!"

All the while Jun spoke, Kaida listened solemnly. Jun didn't need any 'it's going to be okay' or 'it gets better' from Kaida— that wasn't her style. If Jun wanted to be heard, Kaida was here to listen, and that's exactly what she did with only the occasional hum to let Jun know she was still there. She wouldn't pretend to know what Jun had gone through, as that was always something only Jun would know the severity of.[break][break]
Silently, Kaida put a hand on Jun's shoulder and told her not to brush away her tears. "It's proof that you're still here." Kaida said, retracting her hand as to not overstep her boundaries. The senior knew how she was with physical touches. "But you shouldn't let that overcome you. The past is the past, and it should stay as that. You can stay in the past with your regrets, or stay here where you can fix what you did wrong." [break][break]
She looked down at her arm. "I was in a similar situation once, too. My quirk didn't manifest until I was about seven. I was put under immense emotional duress by my sister in an efforts to bring it out after my brother broke my arm and she wasn't there to help me. She did that because she didn't know what my parents would do to me if I didn't have a quirk." Kaida was deadpan, and blunt. "Killed me, most likely. Usually they appear in gaggles of three or four with pumpkin spice lattes and lipstick so toxic she's surprised they're not inhaling poisonous fumes, but this one is alone, with no one else to back her probably botox'd ass up. As a subject of their gossip, Kaida ultimately wanted nothing to do with them. But here she is.[break][break]
The dragoness lets the crystal go with no fuss, blankly looking at the girl. Kaida already looked like she wanted to get on the nearest spaceship and make it for Mars to start a new life. "Why would you ask me that when you're out here trying to make yourself look like crispy fried chicken with all that oil on you?" She retorted, somehow finding it in herself to try and deal with the Mean Girl.

Kaida continued to look on the scene with mirth swimming in her cold gaze, moving to make way for Jun and following behind the trio. She would watch the pair of children fondly as they didn't immediately decide to judge her based on her appearance— even going as far as to act like normal kids would around adults. After receiving the next bowl, Kenzou promptly downed it whilst the crowd chanted "go" repeatedly at him. Finding the excitement too overbearing, Kaida was glad when someone called her name from the mass of people. She didn't recognise him, but from his shy demeanor she could only guess him to possibly be a student from campus.[break][break]
Exiting the booth, and shoving through the throngs, she met him with a placid look, then glanced back at Kenzou. No, he would not be done soon. She would go as far as to say not any time soon. Kenzou could chug good food like coals in the engine of a steam train. It was never-ending.[break][break]

The item in question, and crystal in appearance, fell in front of Kaida. With a miffed expression on her features, she picked it up, looking up to see the blackbird fly off in to the distance. Thanks, Mother Nature.[break][break]
The dragoness peered at it closely, curiously. It didn't appear to be made by someone's hand, and wasn't technical in aspect. It didn't seem to serve much of a purpose, on the surface at least. How did it get up there? Did it fall from the sky? Did it fall from space?[break][break]

Snapping her journal closed, but not before leaving it open for just a short moment for someone to read it if they were looking close enough, Kaida stored it in her bag and marched off with the shard firmly clutched in her hand. Whatever it was, if the person had half a mind to try and watch, spy, whatever on her, she would have something to say about it.[break][break]
Searching around campus ultimately proved fruitless. There is no one that seemed particularly suspicious, apart from the chick lying on the pool bed with hardly a lick of clothing in sight in broad daylight...? Furthermore, she seemed to be in pain. Ignoring her bewilderment, Kaida questioned her being here. Was she constipated or something?[break][break]

Kaida watched in the same wonder she did whenever someone made physical contact with her as Jun took hold of her once more, by a person she didn't mind touching her. Of course she would act like that. She was the pinnacle of civility in her childhood— nothing but graciousness was expected of her when it came to being an Ikarashi, in a social standing, that was. Being comfortable with a family member or friend on such a personal level was so foreign to her she couldn't help but be childishly curious when it came to affection. [break][break]
As Jun listed off a myriad of activities, her thoughts stuck on one thing. Festivals meant people. A lot of people. She didn't like that, because the stares of which she was so used to felt particularly scathing as of late. Swimming meant getting in a swimsuit and revealing all the scars on her body. Nope. "Fishing?" Kaida parroted, tilting her head. It was something she hadn't done before.[break][break]
Stopping in the entrance, the senior glanced around the room before her gaze landed on two children, of which Jun immediately started yelling at as a rainbow of colours exploded in her vision. She surveilled in mild amusement, glancing down at the pair of misfits, her expression softened considerably. "Perhaps you should apologise before she shackles you to your beds?" Kaida suggested.

The mission takes first priority. That, above everything else, is absolute.
It's not a matter of morality, good or evil; if his superior says to do something, if his superior says to slay a villain deemed dangerous enough, he will see it done. To him, it's not something to be questioned, as he's never questioned it, as it is his duty— as an assassin, a weapon with no identity, this is his only purpose. He has no will of his own, and must be told what to do. There is nothing else there but clay to be molded how his master sees fit and there is simply no way around it— he exists just for this, and is ready to be discarded should he fail, and replaced with a more valuable tool.
Yet, even if he is a shadow of a person with no humanity in his actions, there is whimsy to be found in his gentle and quiet words.
Asahi, Enji, Hide, more and more, now Tenma. Tenma is a new leaf, reborn from another self into the same world. Each time he is given a new name, he observes the simple joys of humanity, things he could never hope to understand on a personal level. But he learns more and more each time when there aren't any knives in his hands to be put to throats, a type of curiousity only belonging to a predator. Even if he is a killer, merciless, cruel and unfeeling, he cannot help but wonder what it would be like to have a permanent name, and to show his face to the world without worry.

Tenma stands at a little bit above average height, perfect for not standing out amongst crowds. He's not lanky but muscled, not overly so but defined from years upon years of on-field missions, exercises, and near-death encounters. His pale skin hides the faint scars littering his scarcely exposed skin, of which his gear lays upon— anything but his shoulders and biceps are covered by black tactical attire, simple but intricate in design, ideal for a person who wants to stay hidden. But amongst anything else, his most noticeable feature is his mask.
It also isn't detailed. A simple porcelain traditionally styled cat mask with green and red markings is always present on Tenma's face, wrapped around his head and displacing the tufts of his off-white hair. No matter what, the mask stays on. It is what keeps his identity under wraps and symbolises him as a weapon amongst other weapons at his master's disposal— if the mask is rid of, he has failed as a weapon. He knows exactly what that means for him.
For this reason, he is owned to no particular gender, as it doesn't matter, and he doesn't care. People are free to refer to him how they wish, as a weapon has no identity.

"Alright, what have we got here?"
A flashlight is shone into his eyes, blinding him. He recoils.
"Ten years, asian. Scrappy, but he's got more meat on him than the rest. Weird lookin' 'n creepy fucker, too. Don't like his eyes."
"Yeah, well, not much we can do about that." The man in the white trenchcoat looks at his coworker. "The others aren't any better? You're sure?"
"Best pick of the litter." The other one says. "What good you can get out of abandoned orphans, anyway."
The first man nods. "Okay, let's take them, that one... and that one. Rest, we'll leave them."
"We care about any possessions?"
"Yes. Get rid of them."
"Aye, sir."
The first man kneels at his height, looking him straight in the eyes, dark brown gaze watching his. "It's nice to meet you. Your name is...?"
"Asahi, fall in. Report."
Asahi kneels before the man in the white trench-coat, who he has simply come to known as 'Master'. As a child of only ten years, he's dwarfed in size, an intimidating notion and one that leaves his hands trembling. "I have completed the training regime you've given—"
"Speak up. I can't hear you." Master says, eyes still on his clipboard.
Asahi's wobbling voice stills, speaking louder. "I have completed the training regime you've given me, Master. I have forced my body, mind and soul to its limits and beyond. I have fulfilled each and every assignment you've given me, dutifully so, with our goal in mind. I have complied with you without question, as I am, as only what I am, and only what I ever will be."
Master looks at him, eyes calculating. "How has your body responded?"
"... W-Without question, Master."
"Your mind?"
"Without question, Master."
"Your soul?"
"Without question, Master."
The slightest tint of approval in Master's eye glints. He looks at Asahi's supervisor, behind the young child. "Do you adhere to their words?"
"Yes, sir."
Master hums. "Good." He kneels in front of Asahi and hands him a mask before moving on to the other children. A cat mask made of porcelain. "Welcome home. Send them on the next high priority mission."
"Enji, fall in. Report."
Enji kneels before Master, his mask swaying with the movement. "I have completed the mission you have assigned to me successfully, Master."
"What of your target?"
Enji pauses, their silence heavy. "... Eliminated, sir." They eventually say.
Master looks around. "What of your teammates?"
"... Killed in action, sir."
Master clicks their tongue disapprovingly. "Due to incompetence at your leisure, I shouldn't hope?"
Enji looks up, panicked. "Sir—"
"Silence. I only need your results, not empty promises."
Enji lowers his head, heart wavering like a hummingbird's wings beneath his chest. Yes, his teammates had died, but only because...
"This was your first execution, was it not?"
Enji nods, a silent but raspy intake of breath.
Master falls quiet. "... I see. It's only been three years since your joining. I anticipated your inexperience, but I expect this to not happen again. Dismissed. Continue training with your peers."
Enji nods and vanishes, knowing he wouldn't be able to tell him that almost all of the orphans that had joined alongside him had also fallen, too.
"Hide, fall in. Report."
Hide staggers in before his Master, falling to his knees, harsh breaths escaping his mask. He's the same height as Master now. "I have completed the training regime that you've given me, Master."
"Irrelevant, Hide. What happened?"
Red paints not only his vision, but his mask, too. Red beneath his fingernails. Red in his mouth. Red everywhere. The knife still in his hand, an iron grip refusing to let go, is too hot with blood and too cold with its metal. "There was an accident during training, sir. I... I misjudged my opponent, believing them to be an enemy, and handled them accordingly as I would an enemy."
"Your fellow Kabuki, an enemy?" Master says.
Enji nods, his breathing evening out. His heartrate is not because of what he has done, but merely because of what was required of him in that moment— as he kneels before his Master, there is no guilt. No rage. No remorse. No heartbreak. No nothing.
As it is expected of him, because that is all that he is.
"You may deal with me as you see fit, Master. I am at your disposal."
"What of your body?"
"At your disposal."
"What of your mind?"
"At your disposal."
"... What of your soul?"
Enji looks up. "... I am to be done with what you wish, as I am, and always will be."
Master's dark eyes glimmered in the strange way they always did in those moments. "... Welcome home."
Questions of where he came from occurred once and only once ever since he had put on his mask, during his abduction. Life in his orphanage had been a blur, the reason why him and the others had been abandoned even more so. He wondered if he had a mother, or father, only briefly, before realising that it had no meaning. He had no value to them, nor them to him. He had no purpose until Master gave him one, one that he did not question, and likely never would— if he had value, if he could do something, anything, to serve a purpose, he would. He had blood on his hands, but he never questioned it, because it was not meant to be.
The other masks he had grown up alongside cracked until he was the only one left. Yet not once did he disobey orders, for orders were all he ever knew, fulfilling executions as his Master deemed fit, killing the unworthy. The mission is everything. The mission is absolute. The mission must be completed at all costs, whatever innocent or evil blood was in his way. Even if it were immoral, even if he had to trample others to fulfill his master's goals...
"Tenma, fall in. Report for duty."
... he would willingly drown in a sea of blood from his own making.

"Welcome Home" or more commonly referred to its codename "Black" allows the user to merge their body with a darkly coloured environment or object, and move through it freely.
— The quirk does not consider mass of the object the user chooses to merge into. They can merge into small objects.
— The user cannot merge into shadow with another person. The user can carry them outside of the dark surface while merged.
» DRAWBACKS:
Light — shining a light on an object or environment the user is merged in will forcibly eject them from that spot, as long as it is sufficiently lit by a decent light.
Movement — merging can only be done on a surface level. The user cannot meld through a dark space on a wall and out through the other side, even if it is darkly lit.
— As long as a surface is covered darkly, the user can meld into it, and find smaller cracks to make their way through.
EQUIPMENT
— Tenma's mask (-D)
 Tenma's mask. The porcelain on the inside of the mask is well-worn and smooth. A mask is a form of identification, and an identity to hide behind.
— Tenma's kit (-D)
 Tenma's kit. Clipped on his belt are sai, and pouches that hold kunai, shuriken, and even a kusarigama. Typical ninja things.

Tenma has lived a life in the shadows, and has no problem becoming one. With body, mind and soul committed to the success of his missions, flashiness is not an option. Tenma has a highly suppressed presence that allows him to sneak through crowds unseen, and approach his targets without them noticing, like a cat's stealthy pawsteps over leaflitter.
KOBUDO

Guns out blazing is not the Kabuki's style— that's a given. Tenma conceals himself through a range of lethal short-range weapons, ideal for covert operations. Tenma is adept at close-range combat and using weapons catergorised under Kabudo— like the sai, senbon, sickle, and so on.
PARKOUR  
C
To trail after targets, Tenma must be able to traverse difficult environments with ease, using his dexterity to scale walls and jump across rooftops. It is second nature for a Kabuki, a shinobi that must be able to endure their harshest surroundings.

Kaida could only watch placidly as the criminal was taken from her grasp, only letting go of her dragon-fierce grip once she was sure he was in safe hands. Then, stare at Gabriel for his barely-hidden excitement for something she couldn't place her finger on. She was about to count the final slight on her thumb when the cops arrived and took both parties away— Gabriel involved, to her pleasure, and no surprise.[break][break]
For what crimes he had committed, she had no idea, and didn't want to be involved. But she had misjudged the situation, and to her anger and annoyance, she was involved with the law again. Slight number five. Next time she saw Gabriel, she would punch him without abandon.[break][break]
"Good luck." Kaida said pre-emptively, watching the police car drive away, wondering what she had gotten herself into.

Gabriel caught him — if not fumbling for a moment — thank the gods. It was either that or a one-way ticket to death row.[break][break]
Kaida jumped foot-first into the cab, hearing the second dismayed shout of the speeding driver. It made her frown even further. She saw him reach for something on his left thigh, and her wrist flung out like a whip, grabbing the man's in her hand, crushing it. A fracture to warn him not to do that again. Trying to get him out of the seat, trying to take over the wheel herself— it was out of the question. Instead, she relied on her intimidation.[break][break]
Calmly, cooly. Despite the scenery racing past them at impossibly fast speeds, despite her actually punching a hole through the car to get to his buddy, Kaida addressed the man with levels of iciness only she was capable of.[break][break]
"Slow down." Kaida said, glancing at his fist, eternally trapped in her grasp if he didn't do what she wanted. "Pull over. Or you'll get a lot worse than a couple years in the slammer."[break][break]
It wasn't a question.[break][break]
The man gulped, nodding once, twice, then a few more times. Agreeing. The car slowed more and more, till it eventually came to a stop at the side of the road. But she still didn't trust him to suddenly floor it again, injuring the civilians around them. "Gabriel. I need you here." She said to her earpiece, eyes unmoving. A predator with its sights on its prey.
