The other competitor apparently didn't care for his safety and wanted to mess with her just as much as she had been messing with others. Her eyes would widen, and honestly, she stayed away from that because she didn't want to get hit by anything either of them threw at each other. The toxicity of winning wasn't something she cared all that much for, but it did worry her that they were so willing to use physically destructive quirks.

She knew that the places that sometimes looked the grossest, could be the best things ever. Those old mom and pop shops with two seats felt more homey and safe than any big, overly expensive restaurant. With a breath, she would step inside and make a note to keep her sunglasses pressed to her face.
"Heya uh, I heard about you from some people at the school? UAU? I'm here about some equipment?" She would holler as she opened the door, not immediately seeing the person who had shouted to her. As she walked further in, she'd look at some of the equipment that was on display, but not pay it too much mind. To her, something super teched out or bulky never really made sense to her; why would you want to have some weird gauntlets to prove that your punch just sucks ass without them? There was something so good about being able to feel the pain of a good punch that equipment could never replicate.
"I was wanting to get some sunglasses, for my quirk?" It sounded like a weird sentence, so she made it sound like a question for some reason. When she was in Greece, everyone that she was around knew of her quirk and avoided eye contact. Here however, people didn't know, and she'd already caused a lot of people to get ill because of her quirk. It wasn't like it was the end of the world when she did, but it made her feel worse than she felt like she needed to feel because she was hindering their ability to do basic things.
The sunglasses that she currently had were nothing special, and they'd already slipped off a few times which allowed her to impact those she interacted with. Sometimes it was great, but other times it was such a nuisance. She was not able to fully control how she used it, and if she could help it, she'd want to be able to use it when she wanted to.
Having gotten information from some of the people from her school, she would head over someone that could help her. A manufacturer, around her age, that would be able to hopefully make something especially for her. She had printed off some images of what she wanted, and brought her sunglasses as a reference. Calliope could only hope that it was going to go down at some point, but at the very least she didn't have to hear it in person anymore. It made her sad to realize that her view of heroes was so jaded, but it wasn't really a bad thing that she saw it like that. As a hero in training, she hoped to be different.
