Even though the impact was between Rhino Rui and the fire 'hero', Yagyo got justled so bad they nearly lost their seating and tumbled backwards - landing on their costumed face with a light 'oof' if nothing intervened. Hearing Rui call out, Yagyo glanced over and for a brief momment seemed to lock up. Inside the suit, Kanna was sweating at the sight of all that lava. Magma? Whichever it was, it didn't look good and it was very literally getting too hot to handle. But after freezing up for a moment Yagyo suddenly was flailing arms and scurrying back and forth at the edge of the spreading lava, small little parts of the costume catching fire. "Yagyo gets it now, this is the Stove hero! All the powers of an oven!"

Completely ignoring that stoves and ovens weren't the same thing, and that neither of those things spewed lava or turned into volcanos, the still slightly on fire Yagyo reached out to snag the slowly melting Rui and pull her out of the lava before she melted too much to use her legs at all. Not that Rui wouldn't be able to heal that, probably! Honestly, despite the goofy antics Kanna was concerned about herself right now. The Yagyo suit wasn't lava proof, and she couldn't heal like Rui could!

"The Great Yagyo believs in you all! Now is the time to show what heroes you are!" Yagyo threw in their own encouragements in, while backing away more and more and ready to scamper off entirely at a moments notice.

Auden felt that he had done the right thing. He wasn't entrirely sure if that was the case, but seeing The Inferno struggle made him feel much better about the fact that he had to hurt himself for it. As he moved away, he saw as he started to become less and less of himself oozing into nothingness to the point that Auden wasn't even sure what to call it anymore.

Looking over to Rui, he'd smile to see her come back okay. "I'm glad I could help a bit, but it isn't safe to stay here for long." He knew that trying to predict what was going to happen was just going to end in them all getting hurt. "I'll stick beside you all as much as I can, because I don't want something to happen." He had no idea who these people were but he wasn't going to let them get caught in the crossfire.

With a breath, he would adjust his outfit and position his right hand to face the creature. With all his might, he would start to project his healing flames towards the beast. He wasn't sure if it would do anything long term, but he wanted to try his best to negate any damage that came in their direction if it exploded. Channeling his healing flames over to the creature, he would stand just close enough to engulf it in the flames, hoping that it would do something to the beast.


TLDR; Auden starts projecting healing flames at it.

Everyone was doing whatever they could to help. Auden was hurling himself into the thick of things to try to hamper the Inferno, healing through the hell of it and finding a fresh way to harm the monstrous freak; even the villains were doing what they could, with Mummy charging into battle screaming... her name? Sure seemed like her name. And then being forced back by the swelling pool of magma, leaving the trio forced back, and Auden blasting his healing flames towards it as best he could, an obvious eye turned towards protecting those working to take out the real villain.

Rui was right, though- that core. That's where the crux of it all was. She felt her stomach twist. She wasn't gonna get out of this with something as simple as an arrest. The Inferno was turning into a true volcano quickly, and her only choice was whether she tried to eliminate him first, or let him detonate and wipe out anyone unlucky enough to be within the blast radius.

And to Miroru, that was no choice at all.

Miroru hurled herself down into the nearly blinding maelstrom of energy, the sheer latent heat tearing her out of her transformation, leaving the redheaded fox to blast herself closer all the same, her skin reddening from exposure to heat she wasn't protecting herself from. It got worse by magnitudes as she got closer, dragging a scream from the girl as she shoved a hand out, the skin of her palm blistering instantly as she forced herself closer, her weight and propulsion hurling her nearer even as every part of her shrieked for her to do something, anything, else.

She had to shut her eyes. The heat was baking them. But that was fine. She could feel the star of sheer thermal nightmares and plunged towards it all the same.

Flames burst into place on her clothing and ashed away the clothing, scorching the flesh beneath.

Her hair blackened at the ends as she fought for focus, for the presence of mind to feel the last instant, the right moment, the exact, precise-

The very tip of Miroru's middle finger brushed the core, and she let loose with the absolute entirety of her quirk, grasping every scrap of thermal energy around her, around and inside the core, and dragged every scrap she could manage into herself as her veins blackened down her arm with the exertion, scorching her to the shoulder, all of that heat crammed, forced, compressed, into a single pinprick tucked into her palm.

And as her palm slammed into the core, scorched and blistered, she converted and released it, unleashing a fiendishly condensed, split-second storm of electric hell directly into the core of its being.

I can pay no price too great for justice.

✧ THE INFERNO ✧

There wasn't any consciousness left in The Inferno. He had given into his quirk fully and could no longer manifest any complex thought, let alone speak. A force of nature under the orders of The Elementalist to manifest fully and wipe out the ward. Why? No one could be sure, but there must have been some reason for all this chaos. At least that's what The Inferno had thought previously before he lost his mind...literally.

The heat output had been brought to its maximum and if Auden hadn't been constantly using his own flames to mitigate the damage the group would have been cooked. With the special properties of Auden's flames, they were the natural counter to the destructive flames from The Inferno.

Mere moments from becoming fully realized the strike from Miroru would impact the core. A small crack immediately formed before the entire thing would shatter sending out all the accumulated heat in every direction. This act would momentarily bring back the sanity of the monster as its body began to hiss, steam escaping as the lava would harden. Silently the hand of the beast would reach out towards the group as the rest of its being completely solidified before it would crumble away.

Victory.

''You're right! That's why we should kill him now, and then get outta here before the cops show up!'' She smiled up at Auden as she woke up. ''Nothing's gonna happen! With Mummy and Yagyo by your side, everything will work out!''

She clearly needed to work on her aim. Every pebble she threw missed its target by a wide margin, almost as if fate was laughing in Rui's face, telling her to blow up alongside the rest of Shinjuku. ''You're right! And this stove is about to blow up, besties!'' She only spared a glance at Yagyo as she helped pull her away from the magma, otherwise her eyes were locked on the Inferno, morbidly curious. Would her self-regeneration be enough to survive a big attack from this hero?

''Yes!'' She cheered, sticking her arms above her head. ''Burn the burning guy!'' She clapped her hands together for Auden, not entirely sure what their exchange of flames actually meant, only that it seemed to be working. Then Miroru threw herself into the fray with her own contribution of self-sacrifice. ''That's it!! Holy shit they're doing it, Yagyo!'' She tugged on Yagyo's sleeve and pointed back at Auden and Miroru.

Once it was all said and done and the dust settled, Rui would approach both Miroru and Auden. ''That was wild besties!! You helped us kill the oven hero! You'd totes make amazing villains.'' She would unwrap her skin around her arms and offer to heal the both of them, assuming they gave her permission. ''We should probably get outta here before the cops show up, don't you think, Yagyo?''

Would it actually work? Fuck if he knew, honestly. Auden was coping super hard at the idea that his flames would continue to "heal" The Inferno, forcing the rage that he showed back inside of the beast. He knew that he couldn't make the final blow with himself though, so he was more than happy when he could see the stirs of others around him. Miroru would most likely have it, as long as he kept the attention of The Inferno on him. Even as he felt his arms and hands get hot from the heat of the monster, he would stay positioned to protect those that were behind him.

When Miroru making the final blow, he'd direct his flames onto himself, trying to heal up some of the major burns he'd gotten on his hands and arms. Yikes, he would need to make sure that he healed this up before anyone could see it. Looking over to Rui and Kanna, he'd give a small nod to see they were okay. "I'm glad that you were okay, I was worried about you- and uh... Villains?" He'd look perplexed, but paid it no mind; labels meant nothing when motivations were the same, they had all worked together. Looking over to the person of the hour though, he'd give a big thumbs up to Miroru. "Couldn't have done that without you, especially. Good work."

Yagyo was right alongside Rui in cheering on the heroes in their attempts to quite literally fight fire with fire, calling out "Don't let up now! Real heroes don't give up so easy!" and other pieces of encouragement. Under the suit, Kanna was honestly pretty impressed. She'd assumed this whole thing was going south really fast, but everyone managed to pull a win against the fire-hero-gone-rogue. Although the melty, cracky guy reaching out a big hand like that had her leaning back in concern - but outwardly it just looked like Yagyo was about to flop backwards with such a baggy suit disguising body language.

Instead of flopping though, Rui's suggestion got Yagyo to give a rapid serious of nods. "Right! It was fun while it lasted but it's time to get going!" With a wave of one costumed hand at the heroes, Yagyo called out a quick: "Smell ya later!" and proceeded to scurry away at high speed with Rui.

It was a shame their ride had gotten burned up like that, but at worst they could always grab a new one!
