Bit by bit and piece by piece they were working to dismantle the Tide as the others took care of the sturdier of the two. Noa's timely intervention took a lot of the pressure off of Ylva to subdue the Tide by herself. With her injuries, no matter how much she tried to push through, if she was to try on her own she would go down without doing anything. Whether it was a desire to protect or not be a hypocrite she dug her feet in and continued to freeze.[break][break]

Whether it was fortunate or unfortunate that Rui took this opportunity to make her appearance was yet to be seen, but Ylva wouldn't have been able to detect her anyway. With how many run-ins they had and the odd circumstance of how Rui's body worked, she didn't have to turn around to recognize that voice. "I don't have time for your nonsense today." The healing was...odd. In all of her encounters with Rui she had never once been helpful so the timing of her healing was odd. It helped her focus and between her and Noa's efforts, it seemed like they had done it.[break][break]



"Not something I'm going to leave to chance. If it's between life and death, you can't be allowed to run around." with the grass and dirt still wet from the previous flood, Ylva would aim for Rui's feet, attempting to freeze her in place for the time being. The healing was nice, but splitting focus at this point in time wasn't good. They still had to deal with these imposters AND the Rumbling golem.[break][break]

''Nope!'' She grinned up at Noa, ''I like killing weaklings like you too. Don't assume you know me, bleeder, my goals are beyond your comprehension.'' She giggled to herself, reveling in the fact that she had found a way to make a difficult situation more difficult for these puny hero students. ''Too bad! Deal with nonsense, nerd! I don't care about your time.'' She sneered at Ylva. Served them right for trying to become heroes! She had ignored Kiku earlier due to being too excited from killing one of the clones, but now that she was speaking to her again she turned her head to look at her.

''You don't have to tell me that, four-eyes. I bet I've killed more people than you.'' She stuck her tongue out at Kiku. She stood up and pointed at the redhead. ''I'm a big shot villain, you know!'' It was getting on her nerves that this girl wasn't getting scared of her, but it was also kind of exciting. Not to mention the stuff that was coming out of her hand, what was it? ''Huuuh? Are you challenging me? I don't see any fun guys around here, so you can't feed me to 'em, can you? You're bluffing!'' She smiled as she took out her knife and held it up to her own lips. ''I want to see what that quirk of yours can do. ~ Can you still use it if I cut your hand off?'' This was perfect. Noa and Ylva were too distracted fighting some kinda boss fight, that tall one was freaking out over a quirk and the only one who was left to oppose her was some nerd talking about fun guys. ''Maybe if you tell me where my bomb bestie Bakuretsu is I won't kill you.'' She shrugged casually, side-eyeing Ylva and Noa with a grin. ''But you talked back to me, so I'm still gonna hurt you.''

Stepping away from Ylva's side, she started walking towards Kiku. Those gunshots were most likely coming from Bakuretsu who was firing from somewhere else. Joining up with her would be a cinch once she was done tormenting these hero students.

''I'll stab you twice, but you can pick where-'' Huh, that's odd, she could have sworn she was making her way towards Kiku just now. Looking down Rui noticed that a cluster of all too familiar ice had formed around her feet, freezing her in place. Looking over her shoulder she shouted back at Ylva. ''I didn't say you could interfere! Dumbass, hero, goody-two-shoes!'' Unlike with Noa and Kikurage, this wasn't the first time Rui and Ylva had met. They had even fought before and that was when she learned how annoying Ylva was. Not only was she unfunny, but her quirk was one that countered her own.

The Tide was no match for the combination of water control and ice. It tried to rebel and fight against the 'current', but ultimately, it lacked the power of its predecessor. It had already lost about 90% of its volume by the time Noa slammed it into the ceiling and back with the last bit the water would bubble up almost signaling a counterattack before it sunk into the soil, with tiny harmless saplings popping up around the area. Something seemed...odd about that, but there wouldn't be much time to dwell on it.

The Rumbling may not have been dealing with its natural enemy, but the coordination between Retsu and Farrin easily highlighted its biggest weakness - lack of mobility. Its strong, but slow swings didn't stop the explosives from damaging its hull, and the follow-up high-velocity punch and a large crack with another group of those loved ones could be seen inside, piloting the whole thing.

A soft chime rung out and lingered as the same voice, presumably Yggdrasil who was in charge of this wing of Takamagahara, spoke "Remove the parasites from the garden."

The Guardian, still an ominous observer, would lift its staff again, and a red glow would briefly surround the living and corpses that were being perceived as loved ones, and the Guardian would leave the way it came.

If anyone had spent time around explosives, it was clear what was happening; the hiss of the bodies eventually roared, and with a flash, they all detonated at once. Normally, what would be a contained explosion was amplified by the grouping of "bombs" inside the Rumbling Golem, which shattered into pieces, leaving a crater in its wake.

This started a chain reaction at the point of impact. The floor began to give away as the grass, dirt, and water fell into a dark hole. Whether you managed to stay afloat somehow, anchor yourself or even get to the edge of the area to avoid falling in, it was clear that there was an extensive, expansive root system below, where light was swallowed the further you went down. Echoes of howling and quiet screams could be heard if you got close to the pit.



The reprieve from the chaos begged the question. Do you turn back the way you came? or do you go down?

She should hate this thing. The monster that had tried to kill her, who took on the guise of her boyfriend. She should hate it and yet, all she saw in its eyes was fear. Deep down, were these Nomu just as scared of dying as humans were? Just how much humanity did they retain after going through the Elementalist's experiments? She grimaced as she could feel her quirk drawbacks kicking in, but she did her best to fight through it as she held the clone's hand and started pulling it up. ''I'm going to get you out of here. You're going to be okay.'' She reassured it, doing her best to comfort it as she pulled it up from the ground. The Elementalist wasn't the only genius in this world, there had to be someone on the hero side, Recall, or the Gorgon, someone who could find a way to reverse this twisted nightmare.

She looked up when the chime rung out, but she couldn't pinpoint its source. She hardly had the time to process what Yggdrasil said before the clone she was trying to help exploded in her face and sent her flying back. The fear she had seen in its eyes, the will to live, it was robbed from it in an instant. These things were nothing but pawns to the Elementalist. She doubled over and threw up, her head spinning from what she had just witnessed. She couldn't even move to join the others, her quirk exhausted and her body screaming out in agony, begging for a break, begging to go home, go far away from this place. When the hole opened up she was seriously weighing her options. She felt too weak to go on and yet, something in her refused to back down.

The defiant redhead stood up to Rui, a hatred and self-loathing were very much overriding her senses of self-preservation.  That was when Rui realized that Kiku was using her spores as a thread, not understanding what a fungi was before immediately following it up with a threat.  Kiku could feel her heart run a little cold, sobering up a little to the intensity of this scenario when Rui pulled out that knife and offered to lop off some hands. Her own mind was calling her stupid for picking a fight with someone like this.  Deathcap was just a mere first year student without any accolades or any real combat experience, and here she was picking fights with villains over the weight of taking a life.  A part of her was a bit tempted to take the offer tell her where this Bakuretsu person was, but Kikurage was a stubborn one.  "I don't do threats," Kikurage uttered as she would unleash a torrent of black spores that would attempt to cover Rui's body.  Spores that, upon making contact, would form into layers and layers of flesh eating fungi that would attempt to incapacitate the brat currently frozen in place by Ylva. Though she stopped the stream of spores upon hearing an explosion.  Turning around, she watched her Giant Mushroom ignite and burst open in a violent popping fashion.  "WHO BLEW UP THE SHROOM!?" Kiku freaked as she was unaware of the clones just going kaboom.  In an instinctual haze, she would rush forward with arms going spread eagle whilst rushing everyone in the nearby area.  Spores spreading apart as they would cover everyone around indiscriminately, attempting to grow puffballs all over everyone in order to create a cushioning effect from the explosive forces of the clones and her giant shroom going boom. Kiku would wind up slamming into the ground right at Rui's feet, having toppled over and twisted around whilst covered in a lot of popped and deflated shrooms that would have eaten the force of such a blast.  Kiku in a state of shock as she looked up at the devil she just spore blasted with flesh eating fungi AND cushioning shrooms. nger was a dangerous thing, especially in the middle of a scrap. There was no denying it, but pretending you could just toss it away was pretty stupid. The self-proclaimed wise men made it out to be some searing rock in your hand. Hold onto it, and you get burned. But what if you take that burning rock and smash it in some fookin arsehole's face? Yeah, it might burn a bit, but the prick who thought it wise to mimic a loved one wasn't eating for a month. Throw a little ointment on, and your hand was fine a day or two later. So, who's actually the wise one here? 

Farrin balled that searing anger up and slammed it against the bulwark of the rook's chest again and again. He felt the heat, like really felt it. This was courtesy of the thermite explosives that exploded against the golem just a few moments prior, not far from Farrin's position clinging to the creature. A singular focus deprived him of this insight. 

"I'll feckin' pry yuh' ta pieces n' make trainin' dummies o' yuh ta' smash all over again, yuh' oversized scrap heap!" He shouted until the pockmark dents burst into small holes in its armor. 

He shut his eyes tight. There was more of her in there. He couldn't look below, couldn't see her harmed. Seeing her shot and bleeding once was more than enough. No more.

"Fine then, let's see how yuh' function without a head!" 

Farrin kicked off the armor and lunged upward. His feet landed hard a few meters higher, and he began running UP the giant. He didn't see Retsu fire but heard her shots connected as they pierced the giant's crown—right where he was heading. Then, an eery red glow speared the air from every hole left in the Rook. 

"Ah shite."

A resounding boom shook Farrin to the bone, and when the Rook's remains fell into the abyss, Farrin fell with it.

The troublemaker's response to Noa didn't really matter. However, her attempt to get their attention was met with failure as actions spoke louder than words in the end. Those who could spare the energy to do so actually attacked the apparent villain. All that meant was that Noa didn't have to deal with the villain herself so she could focus on her main target. Speaking of which, the combination of her attacks and the ice user turned out to be very effective. After that last assault, the Tide was finally down.

At this point with the number of potential threats still active, Noa would organize her priorities based on who was in more immediate danger. The closest target was the villain from earlier. But before she could take any action, a huge explosion would rock the floor. Noa just barely put up her arms to shield her face from the shockwave. Following the explosion, the ground beneath them would begin to shift and collapse. Noa immediately gathered the water in her vicinity to form a sort of protective bubble around herself as a defensive measure and to cushion her fall down the huge pit that suddenly formed. With everything getting thrown into chaos, there was no way for her to assist the others on the floor. Hopefully, they would be able to keep themselves from getting hurt should they also fall in the hole.

It was dark and Noa had no idea what was waiting for her at the bottom. As she made her way down, she would continue to gather up as much water as she could around her so that she could better deal with whatever was down there. Honestly, the howls and screams were rather unnerving.

TLDR: Noa creates a barrier of water around herself to protect against the explosion and cushion her fall down the pit. She would continue to gather water on her way down to prepare for whatever was down there.

''You're teaming up, that's not fai-'' Before she could finish her sentence the clones blew up, stunning Rui just as much as it did the others, although she was quick to point a finger at where the mushroom platform had been and burst out laughing. ''It's so cute how you all struggle, are you sure you shouldn't be in school right now? Tiny weak heroes! What's it like being bleeders?'' She was totally acting superior, and like she wasn't stuck to the ground right now thanks to Ylva's ice.

When she spotted Farrin she was about to shout at him, asking if he had seen Retsu, but before she could raise her voice she watched him and the rook he was fighting fall into the new abyss that had formed. Welp, he probably didn't know where she was anyway. She looked back at Kikurage as she fell right in front of her. She wasn't going to attack her since she was outnumbered right now and as much as she wanted to kill hero students she still had a Bakuretsu to locate. However, that didn't mean she couldn't mess with her. ''Hey dumbass.'' She squatted down in front of Kiku, her feet still frozen to the ground. ''Don't let your guard down around a villain, I might just stab you if you get too close.'' She smiled, pulling out her knife. ''If you want to be a good bestie, why don't you go into that hole over there and help me find my Bomb Bestie?'' She eyed Kiku's hands again. ''Do you think I could cut off one of your fingers before your friends could react?'' She looked over at Ylva with a mischievous grin, seeing as that water girl was leaving already and the tall redhaired one was busy freaking out after the clone explosion. ''I feel like I should, I meeeaaaan you did kind of insult me and hurt my feelings.'' She turned her lip down in an exaggerated frown.

[attr="class","really"] [attr="class","exhausted"]LET'S OPEN THIS PIT [attr="class","rhythm"] Out of all the people she was vulnerable to in this moment, it had to be the violent brat who was missing a handful of brain cells.  She was stuck on the ground in a vulnerable position, head spinning from the force of the explosion and putting out some cushion for those around her.  And even after Kikurage kind of foolishly attempted to help Rui, she started mouthing off calling her a dumbass.  Kiku's eyes furrowed at this woman's idiocy, and the stubbornness within this narcissist couldn't help herself, "I saved your life, I can take your life."  The irate feelings infected her words as she was ready to blast the girl with another burst of spores. However it seemed that she wasn't in a good position to really talk trash, especially with her being stuck in between a deranged villain and a seemingly bottomless pit.  Options were growing thin especially with her noticing some important people having fallen down the hole.  She didn't have the luxury to comfort and regroup with the other hero students, especially with so much on the line right now. "Missed your chance," Kikurage taunted Rui as she would kip herself up off of the ground.  Diving straight for the pit as she would grow mushrooms across her body, manipulating their growth to be similar to that of a cushioned sphere.  Aiming to careen herself down into the depths of the pit in order to find the terrors down below and assist the do-gooders that wound up down here as well. >> Kikurage wakes up and is still beefing with Rui, because Kiku is a stubborn brat herself >> Yeets herself into the pit, covering herself in mushrooms to Super-Monkey Ball fall into the pit. Uh oh.

That was a very, very familiar sound. Well, familiar sounds. As much by instinct as by conscious reaction Retsu threw herself to the ground before the contents of the golem could explode. Worst fookin' pinata she'd ever seen. 0/10. She'd be taking notes to copy that herself. 

When the ground began to give out under them Retsu cursed the fact that she hadn't gotten to the Guardian in time. She fookin' knew that was gonna be a problem. With some luck though that'd gotten rid of Ouroboros's little 'top of the shit list' before he could get in her way. A girl could dream. 

Forcing herself back to her feet she cast a glance around, quickly taking in the crumbling surroundings. Getting to more stable ground was a fifty fifty, there was no way of telling what would collapse and what wouldn't. A manic grin split her features as she instead turned to face the abyss. Retsu was no stranger to plunging headfirst into the unknown and she'd come out on top time and time again. They wanted to literally pull the rug out from under her? She'd be laughing all the way down.

As the explosion came Ylva would do her best to put up a small ice wall to block it, which ultimately sent her backwards and out of the ensuing crater to be turned dark pit and when Ylva got her bearings it was clear that their problems had just begun. Some of the people here jumped straight in while others, particularly a big armored stop sign, were trying to recover. Between her and Rui's ranting about trying to kill everyone and Ylva had had enough.[break][break]

She'd approach the frozen Rui from behind as she ranted to Kiku, and Kiku threw it back at her and gripped her by the horn, and with a tiny toss in the air, she would kick Rui as hard as she could in the direction of the hole. "I'll catch up. Don't get yourself killed." She'd passed Kiku as she jumped in the hole and approached Masao.[break][break]



"Andy, we don't have time to have you cry. This is a battlefield; if you can't handle it, you need to go." she'd point to the teleporter near them before turning back towards the hole. "If you're too scared, go home; you can't honestly expect to keep up with us hero course students." The last part wasn't as much malicious as it was to steel Masao's nerves. If Ylva knew anything it was how to Masao to get back up and keep going even if the only way to do that was to compete against each other. So as she approached the hole she'd make her way down with the rest, to whatever nightmare they were diving further into.[break][break]
