With everyone converging on their location, Ylva had to do something she hated. She had to leave her own safety up to someone else. If Farrin had shown to be even a little bit incompetent, she wouldn't have agreed to this method, but they both wanted the same thing - a complete victory. Fighting off every team, with most of them being comparable to the duo, just meant that they risked losing a flag in the process, as Ylva honestly didn't think they could lose.[break][break]

It did risk exposing some of her abilities, which she wasn't exactly too happy to do, but if it meant putting her on the map with a blowout, then it was worth it. Once she had fully imbued the area with her energy and frozen everything possible she would exhale deeply. If she moved too quickly she risked them thawing out "A complete victory. Ylva had been so focused on her work she didn't realize Rui was working the stall across from them until she spoke up. Her eyes narrowed and her brow furled wondering how such an unpleasant person managed to get a temporary job here. Irony at its finest "People are here for good service; they don't care if you smile." Ylva was competent and began to pick up the pace of packaging sweets, with some of the people in line at Rui's stand enjoying the show and switching to her competitor. [break][break]
She may not have cared about the outcome of this volunteer work but she'd be damned if she let this gremlin get one over on her. Doing her best to show as much "care" as she could she would speak up "I'll help you all in a minute. Take a look at what you want and I'll be prepackaging some sweets." "I didn't decide it on my own. That's what happened..." Oh good, she was as delusional as impetuous. Anyone else would have questioned why she wasn't detained since she was not trying too hard to hide her identity, but it was perhaps that she wasn't as much of a threat as she thought. The last few encounters proved that, and any pros who got wind of her being here were probably trying not to make a scene, especially after the Dream World incident.[break][break]
She didn't share her revelation with her teammates since she believed that dealing with Rui would be as easy as all the other times. So when it was her turn up at bat she would place the helmet on her head and take a metal bat up with her, something that she was ready to use on Rui if she did something stupid but mostly to prevent any funny business with the ball.[break][break]
Taking a stance, her eyes narrowed as Rui yelled and threw the pitch, surprising Ylva that she actually had good form. It was all the more satisfying when she connected with the ball and sent it flying farther than expected. A home run! Her teammates cheered as she rounded the bases, Ylva not breaking eye contact with Rui the whole time. "...and it's happening again."[break][break]

Ylva wanted a game system. It was the only reason she decided to go out during Black Friday, the world's worst holiday. People going around buying things and causing trouble, hell there were people who died just to get a good deal on a TV. With the winter coming soon, Ylva didn't plan on going home for the first time, especially not after the Sports Festival; that was a whole other can of worms. [break][break]
So, she embraced the cold fall air with a light jacket and went to the local outlets. The intention was to use some of her savings to buy an Entendoh Shift. The newest handheld device by the long-standing company had been around for over a hundred years. The timing of this new console worked out perfectly for Ylva's new approach to life. [break][break]
Perhaps it was fate or chance, but this put her in the right area as The Mummy. Making her way towards the screams, she came upon the scene of Rui harassing an older woman who was begging for her life. Putting a hand up, she would create a vacuum ice wall between the two of them and speak up, "I'd suggest you take this opportunity to go home." Like her volunteer work at the sweets stand, Ylva had signed up to play a pickup baseball game against the community. Most of her teammates were other hero students who had signed up for this willingly to get some face time with the community, but Ylva was only there out of self interest. Publicity meant that she would get an internship at one of the top agencies and to do so she would need to put herself out of her comfort zone. [break][break]
As the game would begin, everyone was to line up and shake hands with the other team out of good sportsmanship, and Ylva would instead give a slight bow, citing her desire not to touch anyone, until she finally got to a very familiar face. She'd run into Rui time and time again and she never failed to be a pain. In this case, Ylva was in a unique position where any funny business meant she'd be removed and arrested, so when her eyes met Rui's she said just one thing. [break][break]

When Ylva was determined to make a name for herself at the Sports Festival, she meant it. The intermission they would get for events meant that the students participating were free to explore the rest of the festival and encouraged to interact with the rest of the civilians. In fact a certain counselor told Ylva to volunteer at a local sweets shop to bring in business as "A great student like you will help the business!" Normally, it is not something Ylva would have indulged, but she believed that if she really wanted to make a good impression she had to do it.[break][break]

Owned by a local who competed against another business Ylva was surprised that they set up their stalls directly across from each other. Nonetheless, she would do her job, packaging boxes of treats for anyone who came by but absolutely not giving service with a smile. The struggle with the bull ended almost as quickly as it began. Farrin made a more than adequate partner, with the two of them making up for each other's weaknesses. Of course while she wasn't as ignorant to believe she didn't have weaknesses she'd rather die than share them aloud. Once the bull quirker was sufficiently stunned Ylva would freeze him over, since they were so close to the flags she didn't have to worry about the ice melting.[break][break]
"Fight." She said flatly. There wasn't a chance in hell she could outrun anyone in this arena, and more importantly than that, she was at a disadvantage if she stayed mobile. "We don't need to outrun them. Stay behind me." Area denial was her specialty and with everyone converging on one spot there wasn't a chance in hell that they could avoid her. It would just take a few seconds of concentrating.[break][break]
She had used something of this scale once before, against Jun, in fact, but this time, she was increasing the size of the area to her current maximum. "Buy me 30 seconds. Let them get as close as they can." She would clasp her hands together and close her eyes, picking up on every possible inch of moisture in the area aside from the radius around her, including Farrin.[break][break]

One of the few things she was allowed to enjoy growing up was trick or treating and then later on, Halloween parties. Socializing may have always sucked, but she could tolerate it if it came to getting candy and listening to good music. Still, she wouldn't be caught dead socializing with anyone from UAU, so she opted to go to a party on the outskirts of Tokyo with many college students from nonhero schools. Ultimately it didn't matter as she made eye contact with Julienne she wouldn't emote any further, focusing on the countdown for the event to begin. [break][break]
As the timer ticked down and the alarm rang out indicating the start unlike everyone else who immediately jumped into action, she waited. The water balloons began to rain down over the area, and with the sensory aspect of her quirk, she could keep track of where the balloons were falling remotely. She may not have been able to attack people directly so her first act was to freeze the water in a few balloons before they could be grabbed causing them to fall to the ground and shatter while she grabbed as many as she could that came in her general direction. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Perhaps they had gotten the rowdiest of the bunch of students for this event as Ylva could sense multiple people clashing all around. They must have had the same idea to knock out their opponents to make their acquisition of the flags easier. [break][break]
Approaching the destroyed bridge and posing the question, Ylva would normally let him know it wasn't far. However, with the temporal boost, came a different option. "Not far. I'll make a path. Move quickly." With the extra speed, she didn't have to worry about the platform breaking since they could get across before her quirk worked against her and the ice turned back into water. Positioning herself in a way that would put Farrin as her shield, she would begin to make small platforms, starting from the ground up and making rudimentary structures at the top. Each would only exist for a few seconds maybe so Ylva would make her way across as quickly as possible then attempt to reinforce them so Farrin could make it as well. [break][break]
As if she had eyes in the back of her head, she would soon find herself at odds with another participant who attempted to push her back over the barrier as they ran up with bull-like horns. She would grip onto them and push back with all her might slowly losing the battle but putting up enough resistance that Farrin could intervene. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Whoever came up with this event deserved a punch. Ylva hated being a part of an exercise where you were entirely dependant on someone else especially a race. She did not enjoy running and frankly was rather slow, but what she did have was a way to slow everyone else down. It didn't matter how quickly you could move if your legs were frozen.[break][break]
Her partner was some boy. Some regular boy who didn't look anything like a player. Like always she didn't pay much attention to him or care what his whole deal was as long as he didn't hold her back. When he shared the basics of her quirk Ylva was honestly not even remotely curious about what he meant. Heck, he could be quirkless for all she cared. "I freeze." she added finishing her own stretches. Cramping up during this race would be the worst.[break][break]

[break] [attr="class","nikki109"]Now this was much more her speed. When she originally saw the full list of events this was the one she wanted to participate in the most. No funny gimmicks, no special equipment, just a regular old brawl. You win if you beat your opponent and you lose if you fail, simple was best. Well, that was until she discovered in this particular set that she was being paired with another student. A 2v2, great. In her eyes, it would still be a 1v2, especially when she discovered she was paired with a...support student.[break][break]
These series of events would normally put her in a terrible mood, but this was all turned around when she discovered her opponents; The balloon guy from the HRS and Andy. Sanctioned fight against her "handler," yes, please. As she watched the countdown from the room she and Kei were stationed in, she would speak up, "I know both of these people. Keep the balloon guy busy and leave the other one to me. I'll turn this into a 1v1 in no time." She didn't think of Kei as a combatant and was pretty certain Michael would just knock him out in one go, giving her just enough time to knock out Andy. The idea was cathartic and knowing all eyes would be on her she fully intended to use these two (three) as a stepping stone to something greater. To become number 1 just as the Riis Family always planned for her.[break][break]
As the countdown reached zero, a sound would ring out, indicating it was time. She would make her way to the arena, facing the other two from the other side and paying virtually no attention to Michael. Locking eyes with Andy who Ylva, deep down, knew she was just as eager to fight her. She intended to participate in every event and it was clear that some events were made to favor certain quirks. An arena in the sky where you had to catch falling objects? Clearly being able to fly or jump put you at a large advantage, of which Ylva had neither. She would look around at her competition, noting that most of them either had wings or some support equipment that was made for flight. [break][break]
She, of course, didn't have anything of the sort, opting to leave her battle armor behind as she didn't want something bulky to slow her down. [break] [attr="class","nikki109"]She would raise an eyebrow at the notion that she needed to be prepared for the quirk. She didn't ask for the details just to do it. Whatever. She would take in the feeling, something she wasn't too unfamiliar with, as every aspect of her training in the last few months had been high-stress, adrenaline-pumping exercises. Even if she wasn't aware of it, she had much more in common with Farrin than she could have ever guessed. [break][break]
The bell and they were off, and Ylva moved faster than she thought she'd ever be able to. She didn't have time to think about this as the competitors were already making their move. She could feel not just these two but at least one other that was making a beeline for them from the side. They might have been busy with the two and the last person was trying to capitalize on it, but for now Ylva would go after the ninja, freezing the space beneath the ground to prevent any traction. For the second person she would create a barrier in between them which would force the man to move, hopefully giving both her and Farrin enough time to get to the flags before anyone else.[break][break]
