✧ [IA] POP-UP BOSS BATTLES ✧
The vigilante group known as the Ragnarockers took to the seas in search of answers to the sudden monster attacks that appeared in Tokyo Bay a while back.
What they found drove them all mad. Mad enough to turn against the very people they wanted to protect. The Ragnarockers were once a respectable group of vigilantes, only targeting villains and hardened criminals, but now they want to destroy the Heroes Association and seize control of Japan as a whole.
The only ones standing between them and their insurrection are you, the poor, unfortunate souls who happened to be out on the islands when they spiraled into madness.
What did they see? What is coming? Can you protect the ones you love, or use the sudden chaos to your advantage?

Welcome to the Pop-Up Boss Battles!
These are spontaneous boss battle threads I'm setting up under the premise of the Island Adventures [IA] event! This is not an official mod event by me, but more like a series of open threads that you sign up for. That also means the rewards for these threads will be the same as completing an IA prompt. Also, while this isn't a mod event these threads loosely connect to the next big event that we are working on and can sort of be seen as a prelude to that!
So! With that out of the way, I want to go over some things you can expect heading into this thread.
What is a boss battle?
In this case it refers to a thread where player characters (everyone who signs up), will be working together to overcome and defeat extremely powerful bosses across potentially multiple threads. I will be leading each thread playing the role of the boss characters and driving the narrative forward with the help of all of you!
How many characters will be in each thread?
Each group will consist of a maximum of 3 characters. Teamwork is key to winning your boss fight so I strongly encourage you to communicate with your group members once you know who they are, and me too of course! Keep me in the know about any cool ideas you might get and we can work together towards making them a reality.
How long are the threads and how often do I need to post?
These pop-up threads will last for 4 to 5 rounds, with each round lasting at least a week. You are expected to post once per round, so once per week. Sometimes life happens and I empathize with that, so if you cannot make a post deadline for whatever reason, please communicate it with me and let me know ahead of the deadline. DM me directly too. Otherwise you only have one skip for the duration of the thread. If you don't meet the deadline, your character will be skipped for that round. This is to make sure no one ends up holding up the thread, and because the threads are already so short that you cannot afford to lose out on multiple post rounds if you want rewards. Each post round deadline will be set one week after the boss post went up, meaning it can move from week to week. This is because if a lot of people post a couple hours, or minutes before their deadline, I will need extra time to prepare the boss posts for the next round.
Can I make requests for who I want in my group?
No. Although something like this has appeared in past events, these pop-up boss battles will be treated as open threads. That means there are opportunities for your characters to meet new faces and potentially make new friends, rivals or enemies. The process of who goes into which group will be largely random, but my ultimate goal is that everyone has a good time!
Do I need a strong character to sign-up?
Nope! There are no EXP requirements to signing up, and any faction can take part!
Where do I sign-up?
Simply reply to this thread with the character you want to sign-up with. The more people sign-up, the more boss battles will run concurrently. For the time being, you can only sign up one of your characters. Sign-ups will close next week on July 15th, 11:59PM, PDT. So make sure to sign up before then if you're still interested!
